  • an 225, maior jato cargueiro do mundo, e agora ele esta muito + bonito de roupagem nova!! e quanto ao video é o melhor que eu ja assisti com o som bem real!!

  • Incredible Sound. and while watch take off that car passing look like a toy passing by. lol.

  • I gathered cheers. One ugly sod none the less. If I had the choice of going to Manchester airport to see either the Mrya or the Vulcan, I know which I'd pick.

  • What role does this thing actually play?Barring the obvious shuttle carrying capability and freight. Is it really necessary? It's one fucking ugly jet in my opinion.

  • @paddy689909 outsize cargo operations. Look for other videos. Some things are too big for other aircraft and can't be conveniently transported otherwise.

  • @paddy689909 How could you say that? :O this is one of the best looking planes ever made!

  • @midgeywidgey and the biggest

  • surprising how well that discovery towed it to the runway tho ;) :p

  • the engines on this thing are just like "FUCK not again"

  • The first eight minutes, totally unnecessary!

  • @saganemc2 maybe for some, but it was the first, and probably only time it will visit Manchester and the earlier parts of the video showed how it had to backtrack up the main runway, rather than use other taxiways, because of the size. Also, apart from a few seconds clipped, it shows that the aircraft can take a long time getting ready for take off, presumably to check that all the 6 engines and other systems are ready to go.

  • @oly720man i seldom say this, but i apologize. I consider myself an enthusiast but you put it in a perspective interesting and informative. To someone who knows what they are watching(you) this is quite amazing. I take it that is the reason "Manchester" is included in the title at all. thank you!

  • @saganemc2 no problem.

  • @oly720man Yall are gay

  • Reminds me of the model planes from Thunderbirds or Captain Scarlet :) Fantastic machine!

  • that's not an aeroplane, it's a star destroyer...

  • it looks like a whole city taking off. how many feet of runway does it require, and how fast does it go at take off?

  • Then somewhere else massive ;-) At least the power is.

  • Then somewhere else massive ;-)

  • It doesn't appear to be going fast enough for lift off. Amazing.

  • dear santa...

  • 16 don´t like the best plane in the world.

  • "When it positively, absolutely has to be there overnight". C5-A has four engines...SIX engines...wow...

  • i love the russians/they are always 100 steps ahead of the americans lol.

Only the great russian bear could produce this monster of a plane.

    Fantastic stuff.

  • The pilots of this beautiful aeroplane deserve the highest respect.!

  • Very cool video!

  • @bmwbmwus agree

  • that is one beautiful aircraft, I'd like to see lockheed martin try to make a bigger plane than this

  • ANTONOV Aeronautical Scientific/Technical Complex , Kiev, Ukraine: AN-2, AN-6, AN-2F, AN-2V, AN-2M, AN-3, AN-11, AN-9, AN-13M, A-15, AN-14, AN-14M, AN-28, AN-38, AN-24, AN-30, AN-26, AN-32, AN-32P, AN-8, AN-12, AN-10, AN-71, AN-72, AN-74, AN-74TK-300, AN-22, AN-70,? AN-140, AN-148, AN-124, AN-225!

  • the wing span on that thing insane.

  • sound like vuvuzela

  • wow, it was amazing

  • No, that can't be Manchester.

-If that were Manchester, that plane wouldn't be going anywhere, -It'd have had all it's wheels nicked off it & been covered in graffiti by now !

  • another beautiful symbol of soviet exess and engineering

  • The motherfucking blue whale of the skies!!!!

  • Avicenna9 Ty jesteś beznadziejnie głupi,Twoja głupota jest już chyba nieuleczalna,więc idź podpisać zgodę na pobranie narządów do transplantacji,może wtedy Twój żywot będzie miał jakieś uzasadnienie....

  • What a Beast!!!!! Looks like he had engines on 'Full Throttle" with brakes on then released them?

  • Yeah holding it like that helps gain speed faster...

  • @franthree yup he releases them and it goes like a slingshot.

  • Greatest achievement of engineering and mankind.

  • one of mans best endeavrs of engineering all hands down beautiful

  • @steamjerry LOL you couldn't be more wrong.

  • Agreed with steamjerry...

  • big ass plane

  • holy shit thats a big plane..,..

  • you ever get the feeling that people build these kinds of things JUST because they can? lol.......still cool though...

  • The Russian pilots are hooked up to intravenous vodka drips so they don't crap themselves when they see the end of the runway approaching.

  • Excellent Video! You didn't try to make it so-called "better" by super imposing music. You let your viewers hear those awesome engines in all of their glory.

    Great Video!!

  • A testament to the brilliance of Russian engineering and the huge problems that they overcame to make this marvel happen . fantastic .!!

  • This planes has been constructed for transportation of Russian space shuttles.

  • great video

  • hey man thanks alot for that video it was great

I saw an older version years ago in houston but it was parked was neat to see one takeoff- just amazing stuff

  • It's name Mriya (ukr) - Dream.

It isn't Russian plane, it's Ukrainian, devloped in CB Antonov (Kiev). Plane have six engines developed ZMCB Progress (Zaporizhzhia) and made by Motor-Sich (Zaporizhzhia). There are two planes exists, but only one can fly.

  • That plane is unbelievably big and heavy.

  • Seriously, that thing supposedly can carry a space shuttle.

  • This is an incredible plane !!!!!!

  • Russia-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @partizan116 parrasha !!! loser !

  • What a whopper!

  • At least 5 min. too long. I dozed off, and when my head hit the desk, I woke up too late to see this pig lumber away. One (1) star.

  • its amazing

  • those things are crazy

  • that bird would consume 1000s of gallons of fuel! the russians over stuff everything. jk

  • LOL yea but we luv it huh.

  • With the sheer size of that bird, you want to go easy all the way...corners are taken with caution. Beside, there's a speed limit on taxiways. 8)

  • With the size of that bird, I don't want to land behind it for 30 minutes minimum!

  • what a beast!

  • A380 is 72 meters long / 80m. wing span. An225 is 88 long / 84 wing span. An225 is the largest modern aircraft ever built.

  • it take long time

  • It looks massive!!! I ges its much bigger then a A380 or a jumbo?

  • It like two 747-400(biggest passenger airliner in service). For example A-320 looks like Cessna compared to this giant .

But not the size that matter ,its cargo capacity (250 ton) and range 15400 km at 800 kph .

  • @ jeffreyklm

No it isn't. The A 380 is the biggest PASSENGER aircraft but the An 225 is the biggest ever.

  • hahah, yeah I know man. But I replyd on Mifodiy35, He claimed that the 744 was the biggest airliner in service. That's why..

  • Ah, OK thah was a disaccord, sorry mate. ;-)

  • Nope!!!

  • i think it's really cool to control this mashine!!

  • Originally built for the Soviet space program

  • thats 2 videos you have put that on

    do you want a medal?

  • L M F A O dude thumbs up

  • In Soviet Russia, airplane departs YOU!

  • my dicks bigger =P

  • i know that's what happen when you use viagra

  • dont be jealous...if mines bigger than yours =P lol

  • thats one beasty mother fucker!!!

  • I wouldn't drive that "follow me" car for anyone's money. lol

  • you must of been really pacient for the take off

  • Love the russian way of thinking... Make something massive and put loads of engines on it.

    Fantastic.

  • Massive and it works!

  • the ukranians wouldnt like your comment because its there thinking ;)

  • @dahed118118 It was designed to carry the Buran orbiter, the Space Shuttle copy. That is why it is so large.

  • @dahed118118 Don't forget wheels - lots of wheels

  • @dahed118118 Except that the An-225 is Ukranian, not Russian.

  • Beautiful plane. The Russians did something right! I wish more were made!

  • haha i wonder how big of an airbus that the jetblast could move lol!!!

  • jesus christ! it's tail plane alone would have a larger span the a 737 or a320 wingspan!

  • gosh that thing is so so so big.... wow the power is intense.... i feel like crying everything i see it...brings me so much joy

  • Not what you would call "agile" ha ha

  • Now, how the hell does that thing get off the ground?

  • watta beast! and how big is that wing span?

  • 88.40 m (290 ft 2 in)

  • The An 225 is magnificent.

  • Manchester is a major airport and can handle any aircraft. Infact, with the weather conditions in the South of the UK today, there was speculation the A380 was going to land. But it didnt unfortunately

  • @danfearn77 Any way of knowing before this plane is due to land here?

  • @ollyk22 hey, think of the showbiz market for this plane...

  • i go to manchester all the time i didnt think it was big enough for the antonov 225

  • Another sunny day in Manchester. It's turned out nice again.

  • LOL

  • omg wen that thing revved engines for takeoff it produced like hurricane force winds behind it take a look again

  • That thing is the Millennium Falcon!

  • im suprised this aircraft has a big enough runway to even take off O_o

  • I feel bad for the guys in that car on the ground there.. their eardrums must be exploding.. what a loud plane.

  • Wonder how long the wake turbulence hangs around from this craft?

  • kiss my finnish ass you communist:D

  • Is the original video(before being shrunk for youtube) available anywhere?

  • Awesome. Thanks

  • yYa I agree that other one was really annoying with the music! I want to here those engines rip through the air.Great vid

  • it looks like it is travellin at sumin lk 1 miles per hour... but it flies at sumin like 600 mph :P

  • Wicked what an awesome aircraft...great vid and thanks for no music! OMFG

  • The dimensions of this plane are simply amazing...

  • Very good quality video - thanks for posting.

  • I think I'll have nightmares after this.

  • how the hell idd that get off the ground!

    lol!

  • Very patient!!I would go home in middle:)

  • em agosto esse gigante vai estar no brasil

  • holy crap you need alot of patience to watch this.

but i love it he did a great job taking off

  • Excellant and patient video of a unique and rare plane, well done

  • Takeoff speed?

  • Thynk You for so nice video. I love this airplane and I am glad it flies adn I saw it at Prague in September 2006

  • Just imagen one of these at st maarteen :)

  • The An-225 Mriya (Ukrainian: Антонов Ан-225 Мрія, NATO reporting name: Cossack) is a strategic airlift transport aircraft which was built by the Antonov Design Bureau, and is the largest flying airplane ever built by the most commonly accepted measure. Mriya (Мрія) means "Dream" (Inspiration) in Ukrainian.

Number of built - 2 (two).

  • But, unluckily, the second one has not been finished yet :-(

  • haha

  • well seeing as it took up nearly all of EGCC's rwy 05R/23L is only 9,997ft, I think that the Mriya would either rip through the mountain or take out the spotters on maho beach depends on its departure runway xD (TNCM's rwy is only 7,707ft) Possible in FS is you "lightly" load the aircraft for a short hop to a runway with a suitable length to fill up again :P Great aircraft. Wish i was there to see it :/ (EGCC my home airport :])

  • that thing is a fucking monster,

    and i LOVE it :D

  • I love this plane, its ugly, scarey looking, but that is whats appealing about it. AWESOME beast!!

  • isit just me or russian planes look freaky and damn ugly?

  • Freaky for sure, but at the same time oddly attractive.

  • ah man, I was so tempted to make a "So's your mom!" comment ;)

Good video, a bit lengthy at times though

  • yep, its only you. You are not only ugly but also dumb. It's not russian plane.

  • Antonov-225 is russian plane

  • Ukraine Plane, not russian..

  • made in late 80s so you are right..Ukraine not independent til 91

  • haha

  • Sorry you are wrong, its a Soviet-made plane, pre 91

  • how many of these been built?

  • Only one I believe

  • Very well taken video.. Great job. Awesome plane!!

  • I bet the wake turbulence form that isnt fun to fly in.

  • was this video taken at the pub next to the aiport, thats right I know I live there (NOT IN THE PUB, IN MANCHESTER)

  • no, it was taken on the southside just next to the 24L holding point

  • thanks for sharing.. envy that u saw the thing on takeoff!

  • thing to 5 minutes to taxi a couple hundred feet to the runway LOL

  • that plane was massive i went to man c air port that day and i must off been in the plane or two in front that was well good

  • fucking awesome!!!

  • I love the Antonov225 carrying the Space Shuttle

  • I love this plane!

  • christ, that is one big monster, wonder what it's like to land that thing in a cross wind

  • I want try it!!!!!!!!!! =)

  • Antonov225 is the worlds largest freighter!

  • Thanks genious

  • It's a big un alright... isn't it ugly though.

  • What you want it to be cute?

  • Wicked what an awesome aircraft...great vid and thanks for no music! OMFG

  • lol I think the pilot is kind of nervous :P

  • This plane is huge and they are building a second one as the first is so popular with cargo carrying.

  • seriously? that would be awesome

  • what kind of shit ass talk is that?

  • there is 2.. but they butchered one for parts.. they where build during the cold war. its standing in moscow i think

  • there's only one Mria, the second one is buing built at the moment. And I can't get what you mean under "cold war", by the time it was built cold war was ended (may of 88th)

  • looks like something from the thunderbirds.. looking for the strings that are attached to it

  • WOW

  • damn!!!!!!!!!!!!! that is huge!

  • FUCKING AWESOME!

  • that is one big-ass plane... things that big shouldnt be able to fly.. but thanks for sharing, cool vid.

  • Wonderful video. I hope to see it one day. Loved the vortices coming off the flaps. Thanks for sharing.

  • Engine seem to spool up at 40% N1 for like 2 minutes. Why is that?

  • i never seen an aircraft like that

  • ниxрeнa сeбe !!! прoстo мoнстр !!! интeрeсснo для кaкиx цeлeи oн рaзрaбaтывaлся и стрoился? прeдстaвляю
