  • that sounds nothing like science

  • Actually, the book 'Think & Grow Rich' (although dangerous) teaches that if you can commune with the infiite through meditation and 'transmutate' (channel) your sexual energy into action to achieve your goals... you will obtain hidden knowledge and the energy to apply that knowledge. What I'm saying is that it is a scary book but I would not say it is as simple as the Tony Ribbins flavor of 'visualize' what you want to be and you will become it. Think & Grow Rich is deeper. Scarier. IMO.

  • Repackaged ancient religions or a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, I'll take the latter! Hey all, be saved, I love you, don't want to see any of you miss it. Jesus Christ is lord.

  • Lets all meditate and visualize the DVD the Secret to be a hoax.

There we would have created a paradox.....

  • well done!

  • This was very succinct to simply point out that is this is merely repackaged practices we have already heard about.

  • You say you've heard it everywhere?? I haven't heard a person so far say anything about it. Positive thinking is true, speaking is applying. Go to the Bible, it says in the Bible put a gaurd on your Tongue, and God made us in his Image, God spoke the world into existence, since he made us in his Image, we speak, the samething happens, just not in a split second, and two you have to believe in what your saying.

  • thanks for all these reflections on the movements and popular cultures today.

But by the such an intensity of marketing today in our society, it is pretty clear to see that being "provacative" is the key for success.

and lots people buying into this because it looks so pretty by the way it is "re-packaged"

  • There's nothing scientific about "the Secret". In the DVD, one of the "secret teachers" says humanity is God. That is a Buddhist belief. Visualization, meditation to achieve what you want... eastern techniques.

  • Yes, I agree. This is a bunch of pseudo-scientific garbage. While I think that there are some psychological effects of this kind of positive thinking, the "science" they try to use is pathetic. It just goes to show you that people will believe anything if its packaged right and has a comforting message.

  • Have to agree with you on this one (at last!) it sounds like crap to me too!.. LOL
