  • check out roar for the asiatic lion on facebook if you love lions

  • There’s a new roar in Gir this October!

The Gateway Hotel Gir Forest is now open. Located at the edge of this famous Indian jungle, the hotel will be every adventurous nature-lover’s ideal holiday.

  • Why people compare them with Bengal tiger Tiger can escaped from battlefield but these two brothers lion can lonely fights against any tiger of the world I bat both of them never escaped from battlefield they have vitality and chivelry

  • i think asiatic lions are longer than african lions

  • ..The population of Lions is actually growing in Gujarat, back in 2005 it was 359, now its 411. Maybe we could see the Lion once again becoming the dominant Big Cat in India?

  • these lions are so use to humans by now for the safari excursions.

if these were real wild lions, there would only be cameras, the vehicle, and blood left behind

  • y that condom sound while fucking.

  • nothing special on those small lions. a male bengal tiger eats them both.

  • @666sentrax Tell that to a Barbary Lion. Asiatic Lions are one of smaller subspecies of Lion. Despite that they are larger than Sumatran, Malayan and South China Tigers. They are about the size of Indochinese Tigers.

  • @666sentrax Oh yeah? So why in Gir were Bengal tigers, but since the population of Asiatic lions has started to grow Bengal tigers have disappeared? FAIL

  • @Leodelli Because there are no Bengal Tigers in Gir forest..... Lol fail....

  • @KiwizNz4lyfe because lions have chased away tigers kicked in the ass

  • Comment removed

  • @Leodelli Ummm no Tigers never populated Gir forest, There are borders built to keep the Tigers out and help the Asiatic Lion population grow. And a male Bengal Tiger can outweigh a full grown male African Lion by 75 kilograms, Asiatic Lions are even smaller than African Lions... Ever wonder why the Asiatic Lion disappeared from South east Asia and Gir forest? The Tigers made them an appetizer and decimated the population... Tigers live in Bengal, Chitawan, Kaziranga and a few other places now.

  • @KiwizNz4lyfe

1-The African lions and Bengal tigers have the same weight

2-The Bengal tigers do not eat the Asiatic lions, not even attacking them, Asiatic lions have disappeared from South East Asia because of hunting

3-Asiatic lion was a competitor of the Bengal tiger and the Caucasian tiger (the smallest lion was competing with larger tigers)

5-the lion habitat was much larger than that of the tiger: included Africa, Europe and Asia, the tiger is found only in Asia

  • @Leodelli

    1. African Lions average 185.56 kgs, Bengal Tigers average 222.26kgs

    2. They did when Asiatic Lions were found throughout South east Asia ranging from Chitwan, Nagarahole, Assam and Bengal. Not true, Hunting would off extinct the Bengal tiger too, But the numbers are higher than 3000 compared to 300.

    3. Asiatic Lions lived in prides and tended to avoid inter species conflicts with Tigers, How ever this did not save them from being ambushed by the solitary cat.

    4. Dont forget Russia.

  • @KiwizNz4lyfe

1-African lions weight average 220Kg (south african lions can weight until 260Kg)

2-The Asiatic lion was spread by Greece to India, the hunt led him to extinction in all these areas except the Gir Forest, the remaining population is small and weakened genetically

3-The Lions dominated the deserts and plains of Asia, while the Tigers were relegated in the forests and high mountains

4-tigers are spread in Siberia, not all Russia.

  • @Leodelli

550lbs is the maximum weight for a wild African Lion, 420lbs is the average weight for a male Lion, The largest Lion shot was verified at 600lbs by George B Schaller, While the average Bengal Tiger averages 486lbs and the largest weight mode for the Bengal Tiger is 700lbs, The largest Bengal Tiger weighed 857lbs and a larger Siberian Tiger named Kore was recorded at being 950lbs. Lions never dominated Asia, Other wise they woulden't be almost extinct.

  • @KiwizNz4lyfe I don't use lbs, i use Kilos. However there is no doubt that the lions dominate Asia: the lion was considered the king of beasts by the Persians, is the symbol of the tribe of Judah, is the animal sacred to the goddess of war Parvati, there are numerous writings and images of lions in eastern mithology, but few on tigers. Just think that we find statues of lions in China and Malaysia, where the lion was not popular, but his reputation has preceded.

  • @Leodelli The lion owes its reputation to the Bible and religious views, It gained the king like status from its mane and noble behaviour. Lions are king off the beasts i lay no claim against that. How ever Tigers are larger and stronger. Remember Tigers have always been seen as a savage among beasts and have the highest human kill rate above any cat. There is nothing noble about Tigers they are mere savage animals that represent mans deepest fears.

  • @KiwizNz4lyfe the lion is king of the animals because it is the dominant predator of all the habitats in which it operates: it is the alpha predator in Africa and it was in Europe and Asia. With his teeth and claws has conquered an area which in prehistoric times extended over 4 different continents, from South Africa to Alaska. No one animal can survive at the attack of a lions pride. The lion is the most common animal on human colture: he is a symbol of strenght, power, courage and nobility

  • @Leodelli Yes the Lion is king off the beasts, How is it the Alpha predator in Asia? Only 300 Lions exist in a small area in Gir forest. You dont understand I agree on the Lion being king on the beasts. But the Tiger is larger and stronger and would slaughter a Lion one on one. We are not talking about prehistoric times, We are talking about now and the Lion only exists in Africa and Gir forest and the Tiger is 75kgs larger and armed with bigger claws and teeth, Its a solitary cat after all.

  • @KiwizNz4lyfe Asiatic lion is now in crisis, but before the man hunted, her range extends from southern Greece to India through the entire Middle East. The Asiatic lions of Gir are small and thin because hunters have ruined them. The hunters killed the largest specimens and the most developed mane. Try to compare the Asiatic lions in this video with Asiatic lions in the zoo or the Chester Zoo in Rome and see how majestic were the masters of Asia before the plague of human hunting.

  • @Leodelli Sorry but the Tiger has always been the king off the Asian jungles, The Tigers numbers are limited to 3000 left in the wild, While the African Lion hovers at 22000. Hunters disgust me. How could you kill such a majestic cat and live with your self. Tigers have always been viewed as savage man eaters. Tigers are responsible for the most human deaths out off any cat. Let us also not forget the mightiest lord off all cats on earth... The Siberian Tiger... The biggest cat on planet earth..

  • @KiwizNz4lyfe The lions lorded over a much wider distribution area of the tigers, so you can't say that the tigers dominate Asia because there are only a small part of that continent. There are more lions not because the tigers have been hunted over them, but because lions live in prides, and if you can find 1 tiger in 100 square Km, you can found 30 lions in the same space. And then the Siberian tiger is the biggest cat, right, but if we consider the prehistoric lions this title is up to them.

  • @KiwizNz4lyfe magestic animals. magestic asian lions ^^

  • @Leodelli And don't forget the genetic monster the Siberian Tiger, that can easily surpass 750lbs or more in captivity. Its kind off immature to degrade other animals though.... Lions are Tigers are equally awesome

  • @KiwizNz4lyfe yes, only in captivity, so you right...lions and tigers are awesome

  • @Leodelli Yes both animals are awesome.

  • That part of Gujarat looks just like the African savannah.

  • You have lions living in the middle of the tiger continent. The opposite is not true. Guess why?

  • @LesCrapio

why???? ok dumb ass , is like u live in unitaed states and me too , but u are in mm lt's see texas (example) and im in florida , how u can confront me?? that's why

  • Those lions look tough as hell. I don't think a tiger could mess with them.

  • If I was a Tiger I would steer towards a Gaur than a confrontation with a Lion.

  • @peleth IMHO probably a bit smaller than the crater lions.

  • good news, thres 411 of these lions now. almost the same amount as siberian tigers.

  • Comment removed

  • @peleth your wrong african lions are much more bigger then asiatic lions.

  • The primary home of the asiatic lion in India was the Indo-Gangetic Plain. The gir Forest does not support the kind of large bovines that lions hunt, and the advantages of hunting in a pride are less. It wouldnt help relocating them now, because there are so few rhinos, wild water buffalo, nilgai, Kiang(wild asian donkey) to keep sufficient lion numbers plump.

  • @peleth I was using a metaphor. I said that they were big enough to be african lions. And yeah, if it werent for all the hunting, I suppore the asiatic lions would be the same size, if not bigger than african lions.

  • @NorthCitySider Asiatic Lions have smaller prey than the African Lion's.Such as Asiatic Elephant,Asiatic Water Buffalo,etc...That's if they have smaller prey they are to be smaller, besides most asiatic animals are smaller than their african cousins except the asiatic cheetah, leopard, but the asiatic lion is much larger than those two big cats.

  • @smilezc1 thats not true. Asiatic water buffalo are bigger than cape buffalo & asiatic lions do not interact or prey on either asian elephants or wild water buffalo. & that doesnt make any sense because tigers are bigger than lions & they have smaller prey. The reason they are smaller is because rich brits hunted the big males with big manes down & destroyed prime lion prey & lion habitat.

  • @TheBuffaloKiller You probably are right,I just did some research on Asiatic prey, that Asiatic Lions prey on.Tigers and Lions are slight in weight differences, but Asiatic Lions are smaller than their two larger cousins the tiger and the African Lion. What gives the Asiatic Lions the advantage is that they live in prides.

  • @TheBuffaloKiller Well true about the asiatic elephants, but asiatic lions have been know to prey on the villages water buffalo. Also asiatic lions have been know to prey on other animals that are large.Asiatic lion have started to regain in numbers in India's gir forest.

  • Comment removed

  • @NorthCitySider You are all wrong, asiatic lions once roamed from the northern part of Greece to India, now they only live in the Gir Forest Of India.Yes they are descendents from their african cousins, but they are smaller than their larger african cousins.Manes are suppose to look like that of the Asiatic male lion,it's not a genetic problem. They are suppose to have smaller manes than those of the African Male Lion.

  • @smilezc1 it may not necessarily be a problem but it does have to do with the genes, because the big dominant male lions with full & dark manes were wiped out completely from India due to trophy hunting, which means they could not pass on their genes. Now the small and thin maned lions are left.

  • You two beauties!

  • If one tiger fights one lion, the tiger will likely win.

If a streak of tigers fights a pride of lions, the lions will likely win.

Tigers do indeed tend to be larger and stronger than lions do, but the difference is not large, and lions make a better team.

  • these lions shown here are the same exact sub species as the ones in everland, asiatic lions. as you can see asiatic lions have prominant spots in their eyes and white belly folds on their bellies, which the lions in everland have, that african lions do. so in cocclusion lions of everland are asiaitic.

  • r u sure 39 lions in everland are all asiatic? they are bigger than lions in sasan gir. and not all of them have belly fold.

if everland does have 39 asiatic lions, then they are the second place to protect those endangered cats, is it possible?

  • No not all of them are pure bred asiatics, some are integraded african and asiatic while some are clearly pure pred asiatic lions. Most of the lions in everland have white belly flaps. Also there are now nearly 500 hundred asiatic lions left in the wild which is the same amount of siberian tigers in the wild. And there are plenty of siberian tigers in captivity. Besides lions in everland arent even big compared to purebred african lions. African lions would dominate the tigers in everland easily

  • yes, it's possible to have many lions that integraded african and asiatic. I can accept its point because its far more logical.

also u never know how big they are because u can only compare them to tigers.

tigers are same length with africa in averagw, and I saw lioness in everland simply same or longer than bengal tigeress. also male lions mostly looks bigger than tigers except siberia ones.

it is vid that 2 africa lions fight a white tigeress in everland:

    /watch?v=bh6a9xlyXpY

  • Sorry to break it to you lion lovers out there but Shere Khan would whup the shit out of Simba.

  • Simba? You mean the 826 pound lion? Which is the second biggest lion.

  • Who gives a crap which are bigger ,stronger ,lion or tiger.both are strong, and dominate their habitat. This is not a competition, not a boxing match. moreover generally they have similar size.

  • I agree with tvranbu

  • all experts say tigers are bigger than lion..

most of experts say tigers are stronger than lion..

    are you an expert????

    LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLL...

  • See how much big this Asiatic lions is.... We cant see any tigers in this size in the wild... Tigers didn't match with even Asiatic Lions...!

    With African Lions....? No way....

  • Seems Tigers dominated the Asiatic habitat more so, though.

  • That was a lot closer than i ever got. I'm jealous. Still got to see one majetic lion on my trip. That was a delayed present after spending my birthday looking over the city of Junagardh.
