Yes it A.I. by useing the pen tool and zooming in to detail any shape can look real..take a pic of your elf..focus on the shades of you nose..white and black..separate the two in two different layers.pentool the shape of the dark and white areas of your nose..now us the grassur blur tool and u decide the opacity or size u prefer that will look natural..also may i add pentool the shape of your face and select the color of you face my using the eye drop tool..so u can have a background color...

I agree that knowing traditional drawing is VERY useful and it will definitely give you a huge advantage over those who don't have that experience. However, if you don't know the software, you won't get any job in this industry. Which reminds me.. how many traditional drawing artists did Disney let go a couple of years ago?
