@ashbrauw the original Viking 1 and Viking 2 landers gave us blue skies in their pictures when they landed. They were multi million dollar craft repeatedly tested for accuracy for all of their systems. When the first round of pictures were circulated NASA claimed both craft's visible spectrum detectors were grossly miscalibrated to that of Earth's colors. WTF?! It is one of the worst excuses ever made by them. Also the Hubble telescope gave images of Mars with a 13 mile blue atmosphere.

@19may0001 while this video was reported to be a hoax the infighting between the JPL and Hubble divisions was not. You can google them under "original hubble mars images". The original viking lander pictures are incredibly vivid from decades ago and it had blue skies and true color. JPL made that lame excuse and fought with Hubble's team about them seeing the thinner than Earth atmosphere surrounding the planet. Conspiracy reality I'm afraid.
