Louisville is a joke of a city. Lived there and done that. They would be better off walling the western half of the city and turning it into a lake. The guy on here talking about Rockford Lane is a laugh, thats the biggest pile of dung I've ever seen, trash everywhere, run down ghetto apartments, ghetto trash hanging off the porches, yeah, some real winners. Dixie Highway area is nothing but a bunch of crappy looking buildings and strip malls. Same goes for most of the other main streets.

In fact, the cities of 50 years ago were a lot cleaner and why is it that you get outside of Louisville and things always look a lot cleaner. @skylinamobsta The reason Michigan has been hit hard by economics is because of unions and the auto industry being the problem. Not to mention the liberal socialist mentality in Michigan state government. The car companies moved out to cheaper places in the South because Southerners have a lower standard of living and a lower mentality which permits them to have lower wages and standards. The unions hurt themselves by wanting more at a time when things were crumbling. Not smart.

Plus when half the people in public schools don't even graduate, that is another problem. That's the same problem that faces Kentucky. Its not so much that the public schools don't graduate kids, its that they don't prepare them for the real world. I've seen it in the writing skills of those kids, they can't write.

For those who have never been there...GO. It is a great city, great waterfront park, 4th street live, the Center for the Arts right across the street from the Humana building on 6th street, the Highlands clubs and restaurants out on Bardstown Rd...just nice, and some great old historic architecture and homes (Frankfort Ave and Clifton as nice as any city to live in). I could go on and on, but it is as nice as any bit city, but more hometown feel. Louisville has all you will need...:-)

4th Street Live is about the only decent thing in downtown.
