Wow, Damian Woetzel retired? I had no idea! He wouldn't remember me from a hole in the ground by now but I too remember him from about twenty years ago when he would take class and perform with John Clifford's Los Angeles Ballet. He must have been fifteen or sixteen, tall, skinny, a little awkward physically - that is, until he would start dancing. Then he'd transform into a completely different creature, so graceful, so powerful and in full possession of a talent that no one could deny.
he is such a beautiful dancer with features distinguishable even from far back in the audience. my first ballet performance ever was dance for joy with him in carousel - i swear the performance haunted me for at least a week!! :) u r wonderful woetzel!!
It's surreal to watch this. I went to school with him about twenty-odd years ago. Back then he was just a classmate -- and now this. It's hard to describe. It's just weird!
