If you really like exfoliating twice a day there are some great light chemical exfoliants that are meant to be used daily ....but I have a feeling you just got confused bc it "cleans pours" so you are using it like a cleanser ..You still need a good cleanser for your skin type
You should not be using a scrub 2 times a day that is to rough for your skin I believe that you are confusing cleansers and exfoliators ..you should buy a cleanser which you use 2 times a day to clean your pours etc. A scrub depending on how rough once a week twice a week and according to this scrub 3-4 times You are using it 14 times a week and that is way more than intended ...Exfoliation does Amazing things for the skin but if you exfoliate too much you are Damaging your skin!
I liked your video but I have to say I'm pretty sure I have the exact same scrub the packaging just looks different in the video (St. Ives naturally clear apricot scrub blemish & blackhead control) and it says on the packaging to use it 3-4 times per week
the manufacturers are making a killing off this. They buy rotten apricots by the truck load for next to nothing blend the pits and sell it to people who think it will make them look beautiful...
Thanks for the review :) Please be careful with scrubs, however, as they may be too harsh on the skin if used more than 1-2 times per week. For a homemade "regular" scrub, one may use Cetaphil liquid cleanser (or one's favorite cleanser) and mix some baking soda before applying to the face.
@Jannsmith - I just wanted to add that there is a great and fun book by author Paula Begoun who reviews various skin care products and cosmetics which is called "don't go to the cosmetics counter without me". Her older editions have some more reviews, but all are chockfull of information.
Nice video. Usually, using any kind of scrubs breaks me out, so I make my own scrub. I use home-made Aspirin mask because it helps exfoliate and it makes my red spots fade. :)
i see everyone using st. ives so i bought it and i have been using it for 3 days twice a day and i am seeing results but my bottle/case or whatever it is iits like more orange. is that the same thing?
If so, i think you bought the Apricot Cleanser am i right? It's pretty much the same, i used to use it, but i swiched to the Apricot Scrub because i didn't like the cinnamon smell, & i wanted to expiremint, and the Apricot Scrub pretty much worked better (SLIGHTLY BETER). It's pretty much the same though.
I use this product in the shower once every two days.....no pimples, no oily skin....all depends on your skin type.....if you overuse it, it will dry out your face, but i llove this product.....worth every penny.
I use it every other day. Then, your skin wouldnt grow so tolerant of the scrub. You shouldnt directly use so much of the salicylic acid everyday, because it makes your skin dry after a while. every other day, or twice a week is highly recommended! i hope this helped!
Overall I find St. Ives to be a good product, but I would advise people to moisturise after using it as the rough texture of it can dry the skin slightly.
If you use the St. Ives scrub then it should be used as an exfoliator not a cleanser. For people who have sensitive skin or are prone to acne they should use a cleanser like Simple as it contains no alcohol or scent so its gentle on the skin. With an exfoliator it should be used about twice a week, if its used daily it could potentially be to abrasive on the skin especially for people who have acne or dry skin.
yah its so good im asian! and i have pimples and rough skin and then when i started 2 use it, my pimples start to fade away and it makes your skin so smooth...i really like that product!!
All i can say is that it really works!! . Be advice if you have acne, cystic or open brake outs. Don't use it or be really gentle. People with acne are not suppose to exfoliate with scrubs because it cuts acne , spreads it and irritates it. But let your acne cool down or use it in parts that you have small bumps . You will see results , tones skin, makes it smooth, since it exfoliates makes new healthy skin grow. LOve St ives. I used Proactive, Aveeno, Clean & Clear and more!
I use Target's store brand equivalent which works just as well. I don't use it daily, though. Constant exfoliation of skin can cause damage to the sensitive dermal layer, so I only use it every other day. My skin gets many compliments for its smooth texture and rare occurrences of blemish. I look younger than my younger brother and am often mistaken to be in my teens when I'm really in my early twenties. Apricot scrub, or corn-kernel scrub (the actual primary exfoliator)--use wisely.
but if this guy has sensitive skin, using the apricot scrub would strip his natural oils which causes even more breakouts. I'd use it only once or twice a week. for sensitive skin, you should use the gentle apricot scrub. Even though I SHOULD probably use the acne prone/oily formula (the one in this vid), I've used it before and it was wayyy to harsh on my skin (completely dried it to flakes:(
is that like a cleanser to clear acne?? is it just a scrub to put a make on once a week?? pls reaspond to my comment (click on my user name and message me pls!!!!)

harris1001 2 years ago
first, you cleanse your face then you can exfoliate with the scrub.
MrsNickJonas680 2 years ago
I wet my face a lil with normal water and scrub with this then after it use any cream or vaslie.
