  • this is THE best episode of the series. If they made one of JMS episodes into the ghostbusters 2 movie instead of what they actually did it would have been better.

  • The best episode of the whole series. I remember this one from when I was a kid. Great episode.

  • The twin towers are still there. :)

  • i wish most modern cartoons could have this kind of depth and breath it could only help people growing up to have a greater understanding of life

  • and after the end jeremy gets sent t prison foe terrorism acts and never seen again

  • Best episode of the Real Ghostbusters. I remember this episode from when I was a kid. I am glad to see it is as powerful now as it was then. Thanks for uploading this.

  • egon: a blue-eyed blonde jew, tell me that ISN'T open and obvious race propaganda...

  • It really surprising how deep this show goes. The people who made this show must have put a lot of work into researching folklore, because it is in fact very accurate.

Does anyone know the episode name where they go into a cartoon world? I can't find it on youtube.

  • @TheWetgummybear @TheWetgummybear I'm in tears watching this, this is probably my favourite episode. The episode you are looking for is called "Who're You Calling Two-Dimensional?"

It's also one of my personal favourites. I'm desperately trying to find one where they are in a haunted house full of poltergeist, I remember there was a chef and a knight in it, it's not the aunt louise episode. If anyone could give me the name I would be really grateful!

  • @bizzlehuggy1 I found it! It's called "Boo dunnit" :)

  • great

does anyone know if the episode"Captain Steel Saves the Day" is uploaded?

  • @Highlanderswave83 yep, i just watched it!

  • @Highlanderswave83 its still uploaded ityped it in when i saw your comment. :)

  • They should cross the streams

  • I always cried watching Ditilio give his speech, his words is the closest thing to humanity in any cartoon ever. Best episode ever

  • Jeremy sounds like Nicholas Cage. I loved the fact that the Ghostbusters were willing to sacrifice themselves to save the world...."Jeneane....."

  • wow. detillio's speach was hardcore they dont make toons like this anymore outside of japan

  • fuckng wow! i forgot how deep this cartoon was

  • Am I the only one who feels sad for the Ghostbusters when they were all saying their 'last words'?

  • this one reminds me of the ending in the first GB movie with Gozer

  • I like how the GBs are all giving each other farewell speeches, and all Egon says is, "...Janine..."

  • I can't believed the bastard child of Bill Clinton and Elvis almost destroyed the world

  • Geeze, the way the Big Bad bought it was pretty huge and terrifying in and of itself. Then again, it's moments like these that made me unafraid of ghosts when I was a kid, thanks to this cartoon.

  • If all man, who got disapointed with a woman, would search for a demon to destroy the eintire world.... the world would be destroyed evey second.

  • from 01.57 - 02.50 says it all, the music, the atmosphere and the speech

brings a tear to my eye

  • Does anyone know the melodies of the flute? Or the notes?

  • Man if I ever have a kid, this is the show they're gonna watch.

  • second that love this then and love it now, these are real cartoons and not cartoon based and revolved around the ideas of advertisements

  • este egon ni siquiera cuando esta llegando el fin del mundo confiesa su amor por janine, en lo que ellos creian su ultimo momento y se despedian egon la nombra.

  • I've been looking for that song with the weeping guitar for years! Thanks for uploading it!

  • there's something persuasive about that weeping guitar along with the dialogue

  • wow. this episode is really DEEP. i mean you look at other shows at the time that were aimed at the same age group and there is no comparisin. ghostbusters ARE the best.

  • Yeah I'm with you on that, the characters really had personality between the lines of the animation. The stories were intriguing and also really gripping, like a horro and techno 'detective' style but eased into, through the every day city setting. And the quirky and dramatic elements of the music pertinent to these end-of-the-world scenarios. In short it was sheer animation excellence. It's hard to explain to other gen's, because we experienced our childhood and thought through these cartoons.

  • That guy IS going to jail RIGHT??? lol

    He tried to kill everyone...lmao

  • Hmm, it often seems the world is going to end when during a breakup.

  • Does anyone else notice the awesome music playing as Jeremy reaches for his servant. (It's very emotive, featuring, first, a piano, then an electric guitar and an analog synthesizer) I always loved the non-vocal soundtrack in this show--too bad it will probably never be released. Even still, cartoons like The Real Ghostbusters made Saturday mornings special. I am happy to have been born early enough to have experienced it when it was new.

  • You And Me Both...lol Those 80's Days Were Definitely Great Times For Animation...

  • I think the more important thing is that it looks like they crossed the streams there during the fight with the monster in the sky.

  • "Nobody ever said the world was an easy place. Nobody ever said you wouldn't be hurt. If you weren't sufficiently loved, it's your OWN fault, not the worlds."

Words to live by right there.

  • So true. I think there's something we can all learn from this. The world is a cruel and unforgiving place as it is. But it's all a matter of dealing with it and finding our place in it. Because really, that's part of what life is about.

  • This show is amazing

  • Agreed. It's an absolute classic.

  • This series had some noteworthy stories but this episode was truly a halmark of story telling and direction,

  • 5:32-5:51... and once again ALL IS WELL in Ghostbuster world :D

  • This is definitely the episode that hooked me. Cartoons were so awesome back then. Right after school, Thundercats, GI Joe, Transformers, TRGB, JEM well maybe not JEM but it was in that mix. LOL

  • I absolutely love the ending!! These episodes are better than most movies out today.

    Love this show!!!

  • Egon: Janine....

One word - a thousand meanings.

  • that's three

  • This kinda reminds me of the movie. :)

  • thankya very much

  • Man, just as the theme played in the last battle, I got goosebumps.

  • yeah!!!! one of the best moments ever!!!

  • Yeah beautiful melody and very haunting.

  • @Doeney the best

  • I can't believe Bill Clinton almost ended the world.

  • to vicshelick: I never trusted those damn liberal democrats

  • What kind of jail term homie get for all that?

  • Why is Frank Welker playing a guy with an Elvis voice who's from NYC?

  • what is up with the face in the sky? it looks weird.

  • It was the Norse god Loki.

  • That Loki. He's always causing trouble. Especially for Thor.

  • When I was a kid I was always somewhat frightened of the more scary Ghostbuster episodes, this one included.

The face in the sky creeped me out.

  • they shouldve crossed the streams

  • you should have noticed egon saying " imagine every particle in your body exploding at the speed of light" because that could kill'em

  • so who pays for damages?

  • I thought the guitar rift was amazing.

  • Youre so right, this has got to be one of the best episodes ever. Its almost as good as the movies ending. And Ditilio had one of the best lines. Ive remembered that speech for years. This is when cartoons actually sent kids a REAL message without having to sell out.

  • With the darker themes of episodes like these, I am very surprised this series avoided much of the censorship most animated shows had at the time.

  • Ya I agree completely. I watched this episode as a kid and I always remembered the part where detilio refused the help from jeremy. I remember feeling it was a very moral scene, even at a young age of 9 or so.

  • Episodes like this made the show so awesome it was like watching a 30 minute feature length film. I just miss this great stuff so much, why can't we get any of it back? Kids these days and generally for the last ten or so years have been getting ripped off completely.

  • Jeremy: "Ditillio, please. You're my only friend. You can't do this. Just take my hand."

Ditillio: "No. I don't want anything to do with you. You're the one who doesn't care. You, you were born with everything. I had nothing! But I have had humanity, more love in my going out than you will ever have."

  • amazing cartoon!!!!

also in "night game" episode, the lesson about god vs evil!! man!!!! why they don`t make stuft like this anymore??

  • @insidethewall god versus evil? i think you mean good versus evil lol

  • Ditillio: "Me the fool? No, you're the fool. You've thrown away everything because the world hurt you. Well, look at me! Yes, I'm small and I'm twisted and I'm ugly, but at least I'm still human. Nobody ever said the world was an easy place. Nobody ever said you wouldn't be hurt. If you weren't sufficiently loved, it's your own fault, not the world's."

  • when i was a kid i cried with that line!!!!

  • WOW!!

  • Ive been searching 22 years to watch Ditillios speech again...... so beautiful. thankyou youtube.

  • that flute music when the ghostbusters were setting their packs to blow made the whole scene epic (well even more epic)

  • i love this episode this part most they picked probably the best time in the show history for the theme song to play just after Jeremy get blasted and the ghostbuster fire thier proton packs truly epic!

  • I love this episode and totally remember it as a kid. Now as an adult I find 2 things funny about this episode. One is that Jeremy sounds just like George W. Bush, coincidentally he too wanted to destroy the world. And the second thing, anyone think the "Song of Life"sounds a lot like the "Song of Time" from the Zelda Ocarina of Time on N64?

  • If anything, it'd be the other way around, since OoT came out in 1998, long after TRG ended.

  • Not really, he sounds more like Bill Clinton.

  • if he is from new york why is he doing an elvis impression.

  • I was wondering the same thing... even though I love this episode so I can overlook it.

  • Totally, one of the classics.

  • Who wants to bet that after this episode, Cindy and Jeremy didn't stay together? :) Yeesh, the guy is like the worst stalker one could imagine.

  • That building looks like the Shandor building from the first movie.

  • Love the show. But dear god, that guy was the worst voice actor ever. Yee haw, yippy ki ay, pardner.

  • That was Frank Welker. He also did the voice of Ray and Slimer in the show. He's a man of a thousand voices. I know him best as the voice of Generation 1 Megatron and G1 Soundwave.

  • Then that was Welker's single worst job ever. o.o

I grew up with Welker just as much as you did, and generally I love him(was ecstatic to hear he was doing Soundwave in Revenge of the Fallen), but that? By GOD, that was horrible.

  • Aww this was a kinda sad episode.

  • best chapter ever

  • i love it when the Egon is about to face certain death he thinks about Janine.i love this episode. Ghost r us,killawat, Knock knock, the baseball one, the first boogieman one, and the hospital episode are all awsome episode. oh yeah the sandman and the cathulhu episode.

  • Face it, it is easier to make a list of the bad episodes then it is to make a list of the good ones there are just too many good ones!

  • so true my friend. so true.

  • Dude is that Garfield's voice?!

  • yes, same voice actor.

  • That is too awesome :D

  • arsinio hall played the voice of winston

  • Lorenzo Music was the name of the guy who did Garfield's and Peter Venkman's voice. It's a shame he passed away. It seems ironic that Frank Welker now Voices Garfield as he voiced Ray and Slimer.

  • Fun fact, in the live-action Garfield movies, Bill Murray did Garfields voice.

Peter Venkman was played by Bill Murray in the ghostbusters movies.

  • Yeah. It's too late for me so screw this world. Jeremy, you're a hopeless whiny puke.

  • Lol! No kidding, eh?

  • The Twin Towers!!

To bad can't play a flute and have it go back to when they were there.

  • This is truly a remarkable piece of masterpiece that was made by the animators a true piece of hard work and honesty;).

  • the ghostbusters aren't 'fraid of death, apparently. i love that. the first movie's ending had that very similar too, feel like "this sucks we're gonna die but screw these ghosts, let's do it."

  • Yeah, a literal blaze of glory. If they go down, they go down fighting.

  • EXACTLY! no one said the world was an easy place, we just need to hold on to what we have and then go on. try to get the best out of things.

  • i always loved the music from this one... is it called anything specific?

  • This was one of my favs. Really good episode.

  • Glorious.

I watch this, and I genuienely feel bad for kids today. Most of the crap they have to watch SUCKS. (with exceptions, of course)

  • I feel sorry for myself now. I saw 30 eps in three days, and I'm terrified of when I'll run out. No cartoon will ever satisfy me again.

This episode was the best of those I've seen, man they are soo cool, literally. I love their attitude.

  • I feel for you, I'm in the exact same situation!

  • He had the song of life but not the song to turn his boy Igor back to normal. Sick episode but wish his friend's appearence was restored too!

  • Saturday morning.Cookies and milk.And ghostbusters.Perfect.

  • than god in reality rejected people cant get their hands on those magical things that end the world. you can all imagine that we surely would not exist today. lol

  • ragnarok and roll is one of the best episodes of The Real Ghostbusters

  • Yeah I hate it when People are so childish and emotional for no reason like my mom, she's a son of a ***** yet I don't say it becasue She is so emotional which is perfectic:(

  • That Jeremy is way too emo...he was going to end the world because his girlfriend broke up with him? Damn, talk about dependency issues. I mean, someone probably tried to tell him, "dude, it's not the end of the world," and he was like "guess again, super-sucka!" LOL. At least he has the compassionate Quasimoto-tribute sidekick to keep him in check.

  • why is there a smiley face in the corner?

  • is the logo for the cartoon block when they showed the real ghostbusters on that network :)

  • Ah, okay. Thanks.

  • @Morhek That's because it was recorded off of Teletoon.

  • The song of life sounds like its native american.

  • yea, it does dosnt it? but it'z most likely and proabaly without a doubt Norse ^_^

btw, GREAT MELODY!!! if that cuold be on iTunes, id download it without a 2nd thought! XD

  • If this was the real world that the guy wouldn't win over the chick with threats like that.

  • Who said she didn't tip-toe the **** out of his apartment 3 days after everything settled down?

  • Hahaha! XD Maybe.

  • man this one was dark

  • Don't Cross the Streams.

  • Man this show had everything. Comedy, drama, action. And this one was especially killer.

  • This is one of the greatest Ghostbuster episodes.

  • Aggh. Egon's "Janine" line. Sigh! Gotta love that! One of my all time fave parts!
