True most APBT lab mix is not that common a mixture. Am staff, Bulldogs, Rottweiler, Mastiffs (Mostly Cane Corsos and Bull Mastiffs) are the most common. Labrador, Husky, Beagle, Boston Terriers were more common back in the day when dog fighting was legal. Thats why I said traces. Thats why some breeders are now starting to consider DNA tests more reputable than bloodline and pedigree.

My Grandfather worked For a APBT breeder in Texas like 60 years ago and he does not like the breed cus of all the mixing he saw back then. Labrador was a common mixture added to give a dog more stamina become less dehydrated and more wresting ability. Google Pitbull lab mix and youll find a dog like yours =D.

Jelet55 as you well know Pitt bulls were breed as fighting dogs. They were not really breed but more of a type when they started of. Many people mixed in their own little something to get the next generation more aggressive or more likely to win. With that said there is no APBT that if you go back 100 years is not mixed in with something, some pure breads were even mixed in the last 20 years. No recent pedigree can capture that. Certain looks became popular and people wanted to cash in.
In the past these were the common mixtures added in to get a certain look. Brindle- Rottweiler or Husky (usually with Blue pit-bull). Red nosed- Bulldogs, small liver nosed Labradors (2 generation min req). Bully- Am staff, Mastiff. I prefer UKC registration over ADBA, though I wont get into that. All brindles are mutts in my book but red nosed and bully Pitt Bulls have just as much likelihood due to the hype.

@chade1983 Dogs are not racist! They can read the subtle nuances in someone's demeanor and can discern the "good" people from the "bad" people. Most dogs use their sense of smell, not sight, to help them with that. If a dog growls at someone and not anybody else, it's because the dog senses that the individual is a "bad" person. I know that dogs can differentiate between men and women, but not black and white.

Best Friends keeps people up to date and I would imagine the other caring people listed, like Bad Rap, etc. in the book that took in an rehabilitated the other dogs have information. There have been plenty of articles and shows about these amazing dogs who would not be here today without those compassionate people.

I don't think that vick can ever be forgiven for what he's done. He is a public figure, and not sorry for what he did, but for getting caught. @ne12o12 Yeah, Vick isn't even really 'sick.' Vick didn't kill his pet dogs. He killed dogs that were bred for fighting. Those dogs were basically livestocks. We kill livestock animals like chickens and cows. Cock fighting is legal in Louisiana, and people kill animals like deers for fun (hunting). Spanish kill bulls for fun (bull fighthing). In many parts of the world, except in N. America and Europe, dog fighting is mostly legal. Chinese and Koreans eat dogs, not pet dogs but livestock dogs.

True most APBT lab mix is not that common a mixture. Am staff, Bulldogs, Rottweiler, Mastiffs (Mostly Cane Corsos and Bull Mastiffs) are the most common. Labrador, Husky, Beagle, Boston Terriers were more common back in the day when dog fighting was legal. Thats why I said traces. Thats why some breeders are now starting to consider DNA tests more reputable than bloodline and pedigree.

My Grandfather worked For a APBT breeder in Texas like 60 years ago and he does not like the breed cus of all the mixing he saw back then. Labrador was a common mixture added to give a dog more stamina become less dehydrated and more wresting ability. Google Pitbull lab mix and youll find a dog like yours =D.

Pits weren't bred to fight, they were breed to be trusty worthy companions. Even if BSL didn't happen because of dogfighting... it was started because irresposible owners trained them to hurt people or other dogs. It's not the breed, it's the owner! Small dogs are more prone to biteing than pits or rotts. Any dog can be abused (trained) to bite.

Jelet55 as you well know Pitt bulls were breed as fighting dogs. They were not really breed but more of a type when they started of. Many people mixed in their own little something to get the next generation more aggressive or more likely to win. With that said there is no APBT that if you go back 100 years is not mixed in with something, some pure breads were even mixed in the last 20 years. No recent pedigree can capture that. Certain looks became popular and people wanted to cash in.

In the past these were the common mixtures added in to get a certain look. Brindle- Rottweiler or Husky (usually with Blue pit-bull). Red nosed- Bulldogs, small liver nosed Labradors (2 generation min req). Bully- Am staff, Mastiff. I prefer UKC registration over ADBA, though I wont get into that. All brindles are mutts in my book but red nosed and bully Pitt Bulls have just as much likelihood due to the hype.

Cough lol you have a partial red nosed pit-bull. Well many of the red nosed pit bulls 20 years ago were mixed with bull dogs to get that more pronounced red nose. They were even falsely registered. The bloodlines have been mixed in with other breeds over the last 100 years if you own a red nosed, brindle or bully pit-bull they are more likely to have been mixed in with some other breed. What is that dogs bloodline? Oh wait maybe it is just another backyard dog without any papers.

Now I am a young black man, and I am from the hood. And I don't even condone what Vick did. I group up around dog fighting and I always thought that it was very cruel and inhumane. I am an animal lover and always have been. A dog is the best friend you could have. Dogs don't talk about you behind your back and love you unconditionally even when you are fucking up and down and out. Like I said um from the hood and I am a young black man, but fuck Vick for that bullshit!!!

any one supporting vick has NO idea how amazing this breed of dog is. I grew up around them..most rescues and they are the most loving forgiving dogs. There aren't many that could be fought, and still forgive humans that did it. These dogs deserve to live a life of happiness love and affection. Its sad that us humans are this disgusting and low to do this. Those dogs just do what they're told to do. I'd love to have a word with Vick someday. He deserved life in prison for what he did

These dogs fought because the scumbag Vick WANTED them to and anyone who knows a pit knows that they live to please their owners! Most of these poor pups were afraid to cross a thresh hold because the only one they ever crossed led into a pit! Unlike a herding dog or a retriever, pits were not bred for fighting they just happened to be good at it and consequently exploited. They were bred as family pets-check out the history of the breed. Socialization and training are the key to a balanced dog

I have been a football fan for over 20 years, if he EVER steps on the field in the NFL I will boycott the NFL for LIFE. Well as a PitBull owner myself I can tell you that yes they like to fight and kill animals. the thing is that they are the greatest pets but require the most work in terms of training them not to be animal agressive. a neglected dog is a dangerouse one and these dogs are VERY strong. These kinds of dogs should only be owned by people who know what they are doing.

LOL ya thats right, the huge investigation, conducted by the Virginia state police, civil police and FBI mind you, must have missed something that you knew. You should probably reopen the massive case that determined incontrovertibly that he was not only housing the dogs at his house, he was organizing the dog fighitng as well. Serious man go for it. Doesn't it show that no other race besides white people have the dogs? Isn't that different than more than just white people getting the dogs? It said in the video that the one dog is finally getting use to men. Do you think that since Mike Vick is black and most of his friends are black that the dogs don't like black people, due to the way black people treated them in the past.

If you watch there is not one black person in the whole video. Those dogs probably hate black people now. Have you ever dealt with pits? They're smart. I have hung out with a rescue pit and it will get up in your face if anyone balls up their fists. It really watched black people like they had guns pointed at them. I could imagine what that big bastard would do to a black person.

Those people in that video know pits, just listen to them talk about how they like the breed and know the breed, that breed remembers who did them wrong and harbors those feelings forever. Why would a bunch of white people want dogs that were mistreated by a black people? You figure it out.I guess you have never dealt with racists before and don't know. But white people don't want black people to rob them, so they get dogs to hate black people to hurt them if they try.

Actually there is a deleted scene in "Training Day" that addresses this point. Denzel talks about how he dealt with a guy who was beating the shit out of this guy's dog and the dog's owner walked up to him and paid him when he was done. This was to make the dog hate black people. You see for these people in the video that has already gone down and they now have racist dogs. Pits don't forget.

@chade1983 Dogs are not racist! They can read the subtle nuances in someone's demeanor and can discern the "good" people from the "bad" people. Most dogs use their sense of smell, not sight, to help them with that. If a dog growls at someone and not anybody else, it's because the dog senses that the individual is a "bad" person. I know that dogs can differentiate between men and women, but not black and white.
