I've read the manga, it has similarities to Sailor Moon, but it's got original plots. Mahou Shoujo is a genre, and because of Sailor Moon it became a popular genre (yes people I know their's others before SM, but she's the one that made it happen)

And believe me, some magical girl today is a total ripoff of Sailor Moon, so stop picking on Wedding Peach.
