Here's my theory: If we had not bailed out GM, they would be better off and the government influence is only retarding the "rebirth" GM was getting ready to undergo. Most of the models that journalists point to as GM coming back were on the drawing board long before the gov't stuck their nose in things. The gov't influence is only hindering and fattening GM. As far as Chrysler is concerned, nothing can save them.
