why did he choose "somewhere"? pulling that off in a solo is really really really difficult, specially for a man. the song needs a thin tone, female or feminine, for it to remain attractive and not get bogged down. Sondheim wrote it as a duo, and it has that pitfall everytime a man tries to sing it. this really was very naive of him. Simon has a very pedestrian ear, which is useful here, he knows what the everyday man will get...and poor kid, it was exactly what happened. But he is talented.

I actually agree with Simon. I thought the performance was very sub-par. He could do better.

talent means that someone has a gift to do something beter than the most of us, and so is singing also a talent of course. it's not that he uses his voice and has no talent. lionel messi got no talent too than? he only uses his feet, and everyone has that too

You killed your argument on your own mate, the fact that someone was made like this does mean it's a gift, whether he/she uses it well proves he/she has talent. not everyone is born with a good singing voice. I doubt you or I could do as well as Pavarotti...so even if it's just a voice, it can definitely be a talent. X-factor is for Pop singers. he wouldn't have had 3 yesses there. & btw, the word "maked" doesn't exist... :/
