Hey Man thanks for the video, I have the same issue, I'm getting it reversed on Jan 11 (can't wait) I liked that you showed your incision, was wondering what the stoma opening would look like after it was sewed closed. Looks pretty bad, Do you find that you go to the bathroom more often? I had 18" removed I worried about that.
yeah bro i have a question of you ,, i have the bag right now and want to get the reversal ,, but i have to pay off my doc first ,,, but i have been reading a lot on the net that people have been having trouble going ,,and its not the same as it was before ,, and that its keeping them up all night long ,, and wishing they had their bag back on again ,, cause they can't stop pooping,,, i want to know is that the case with you ,, or did you go back to being regular again ,, please let me know ,
hello i have a question when you got reversal did you get open again from the middle of your stomach. or did you get the surgery done from where the had the colostomy bag
This is a really good video. I am having reversal sugery next week and your video really helps put my mind at ease with what to expect. It took courage to make this video. Thanks
I also had a colostomy 3 years but it was reversed last year.
What's wondering me about your surgery is that the doctors didn't let you eat for many days. I already had to eat 1 day after surgery and a few days later I was allowed to eat proper food.
It is common practice in Dutch hospitals and they do this to stimulate colon activity shortly after surgery. They also stimulate you to leave the bed and walk. 5 days after surgery I was going home without any limitations in my diet.
Thank you so much for this video. I had emergency surgery 18 months ago and almost died ending up with a colostomy. I will be having my reversal surgery in about a month. I am so looking forward to it, Your video made me feel like I wasn't alone in this. Take care!!
At bumblebee. Im not sure im lucky I had medi-cal and it paid for all the expenses. Because I know its over 30 grand if u pay. Good luck try to get some type of insurance
thx to you am abit less afraid now. and with the jacket part to hide the bag thats what i do am since 2 years with the bag hopfelly i get my operations soon to. and hope you had much better recovery
Thanx for sharing this informative video w/us. I am a 2 1/2 month colostomy patient, considering having the reversal done in the soon. My question Srgmayo, is did you ask about having a laparoscopic surgery b 4 hand or was this ya only option? Have a speedy & thuro healin.
this is what am scare of an only 26 years old they told me i have diverticulosis when i was 24, and i have ended 3 times already for diverticulitis well the infection. they keep me for 3 days in the hospital. but i wanted to ask you did you know that u had this condition in order to prevent? i do hope all goes well for u and for every other person too .
well the doc told me you wont be able to go back to work for a month. and no heavy lifting for 3 moths. its been 3 month since my surgery and my incision is about 90 healed
I am having my reversal July 14th. I'm 64 and I have had the Ostomy since April 2010. I won't know what it will feel like getting rid of the pouch. I didn't listen to the doctor about heavy lifting so now I have to large hernias that they are going to repair at the same time. Your video was very helpfule. Thank You!
Thank you so much for your video, I think you've told us all a lot more than the doctors do. You have helped me with my fears a great deal. I hope you are continuing to recover really well and have no more problems :) Take care.
Friday I`m going in for a temp. colstomy surgery. You look about my age. I`m kind of freaking out at this point.
