  • nice vid seems like you can smell where the fish is going. anyways i was wondering what time of the year do big cats hit? and bait of choice?

  • mid may thru june before the spawn -fresh chicken liver sacks

  • oh aright thanks alot!

  • Iike the way you have attached those little pontoon type stabalisers on your canoe in your other videos! I was thinking about getting a canoe and was curious what you used and how you attached those?

  • i bought the stabilizers at a canoe shop -they have clips the bolt on with a wing nut for easy on and off

  • next time ... show us ur bucket !

  • I'm goin fishin at great falls VA soon and the water levals probably rised in the river. I'm using baitbags how would you rig it and where would you cast from shore?

  • i'd look for a place to cast to deeper slower moving water using a slip sinker rig

  • i never used to like catfish much i was sort of scared of getting stung lol, i havn't fished in so long though but it all paid off this year i caught a ton of fish ina local river by me, i get nice bass, suckers, carp, walleye, northern, cats and sometimes even muskie.

  • cool- nice to have a spot like that close by

  • i show how we rig up for cats in our " its catfish time" video-check it out man

  • i used the sacks twice but almost every fish bit down on them so hard they squeezed all the liver out, do you have the same problem?

  • somtimes-other times they just nibble-thats why we tie up at least 30 for a trip

  • if you had spider wire you wuold not lost that fish

  • i used to use spider wire-cut groves into my rod guides and line roller on the real and breaking the stuff off if ya had a snag was tuff too

  • good idea

  • ya need titanium or steel guides

  • Wow man nice catfish man *****

  • nice cats, looks like a nice spot for the average 5lb channel but it looked like a few of those were flat heads, what kind of hook you using?

  • every year channel cats in the 30 lb range are taken from this creek ,15-20 lbs is common .only channel cats no flatheads or blues around here.we use kahle hooks

  • what bait did you use?

  • fresh chicken livers tied into sacks-thats all we ever use for cats

  • oh im gonna have to try it some time thanx

  • circle or treble? and none of those looked to be 15 lbs

  • kahle hooks. the 2nd cat in the video was in the 18 range but everyones entitled to their opion

  • just your basic slip bobbers

  • nice video

  • thanks

  • great music,great fish

  • thanks man -gotta love the old lynyrd skynyd music

  • nice

  • no i dont eat e'm but most folks that catch e'm

round here keep and eat e'm.my brother keeps a few smaller ones says their good eatin fish

  • Awsome!

  • thanks

  • them cats bite hard

  • thanks

  • i'm gonna try to break the state record this spring-only 35 pounds or so for channel catfish

  • all good fish.

  • fresh chicken liver tied up in sacs with flourescent pink bait mesh -keeps the bait on the hook .

never had much luck with stink baits cutbaits or shrimps -nightcrawlers work but little fish like rockbass ,suckers and sheephead(drum) steel the bait

  • Was the channel cat"s spawning?

  • not yet-they enter the creek starting in may for their spawning runs but don't start spawning till maybe mid june hen the water warms up

  • I no when they spawn,I just thout this was tape back a few months ago and they might have been spawning because thats one GOOD spot you have there!

  • no disrespect meant- i'm sure you know a more bout cats than i do-i only got into serious catfishing a couple years ago. i figure they must spawn a little earlier where you live being a little further south.

  • well Dan should know the fish dont bite too good during spawn... the bite good PRE SPAWN

  • kind of what i ment but they still bite in the spawn

  • yeah, but mainly just the females right? the males protect the nest?

  • man that sure is a honey hole!
