I am still extremely sickened to this day about Gage. I signed the petition a long time ago when I first heard about this. I still pray for the family and all of the other animals out there that don't get a life or chance that they deserve. You gave Gage a great life, take comfort in the good memories, God will handle Gage's killer.
Thanks A1N9D8y1...I still cry everytime I watch it...(What i SIBTC if you don't mind telling me?) The sentencing date was the 30th of September and although to me and Gage's family there is NO justice unless Gage can be brought back to his family and we know thats not possible, however the Judge did impose the maximum sentence that he could so we try to look at that as a Victory for Gage and the many other pitbulls who have suffered and never gotten justice.
This video actually made me cry! What a beautiful and gentle baby he was! I could NEVER imagine how HORRIBLE it must have been for you to hold him in your arms as he died so terribly! I pray for you and for Gage! May he rest as peacefully as he lived! This leaves me fearing even more for my Rottie who everyone is so afraid of! He is gentle just as Gage was. This was really a sad story. It made me cry. I swear, if somebody does that to my Milo, he will have to pay for it. They have to lock me away for a long time then.
I ran out of room...all animals are to me. When you have a pet it becomes part of the family. My son has always jokingly and lovingly referred to our cats as his sisters and brothers and he's now 18. When he had a kitty that was his when he was younger he referred to her as his daughter. Our animals are a huge part of our lives. I just can't seem to get past this hateful cruel man that would take a member of your family this way and feel justified.

I am heartbroken right along with you...My husband and I got our dog Daisy (who is a pit bull) when I was 4 months pregnant and like you guys, everyone was in absolute shock. We have worked very hard with her and it has paid off- she's amazing and from your pics in this video, I see that Daisy holds the same place with us that Gage held with your family. My sweet Goku was shot back in 2005. We do not know who did it, but I KNOW that he was not hurting anything. We were visiting friends and he escaped the fence. We found him later crawling down her driveway. He was shot in the leg with a fragmenting bullet and damage had been done to internal organs...he had to be put down. I cried so hard I threw up 3 times that night.

I cried while watching this. Thank God you at least know who did the actual deed. One of my foster dogs was killed by a gunshot on 4/23/08. I know who did it but can't prove it. Lucy bled to death on my back porch. No need for this shooting either. How can we stop this unnecessary cruetly. My prayers are with you for your loss. Don't dwell on the bad, but remember the good and at least Gage knew you loved him.
I had a neighbor poison my dog because he "barked too much" and since we weren't able to prove it was him, he got off scott free and we moved. I signed the petition for Gage and hope that this cruel individual gets the justice he deserves.

The video is probably the best video I have ever seen and my thoughts and prayers are with the ones Gage had to leave behind. I would have loved to train Gage as an animal-assisted therapy dog to work alongside my mini-Dachshunds; he would have been such a comfort to the ill, injured, and elderly. I'm SO sorry that this happened. I hope that piece of crap that did this gets the $25,000 fine and is sent to jail for the full 10 years. I don't think that's enough, but that's the least they should do. R.I.P. sweet pup!

Thanks A1N9D8y1...I still cry everytime I watch it...(What i SIBTC if you don't mind telling me?) The sentencing date was the 30th of September and although to me and Gage's family there is NO justice unless Gage can be brought back to his family and we know thats not possible, however the Judge did impose the maximum sentence that he could so we try to look at that as a Victory for Gage and the many other pitbulls who have suffered and never gotten justice.

I ran out of room...all animals are to me. When you have a pet it becomes part of the family. My son has always jokingly and lovingly referred to our cats as his sisters and brothers and he's now 18. When he had a kitty that was his when he was younger he referred to her as his daughter. Our animals are a huge part of our lives. I just can't seem to get past this hateful cruel man that would take a member of your family this way and feel justified.

I am heartbroken right along with you...My husband and I got our dog Daisy (who is a pit bull) when I was 4 months pregnant and like you guys, everyone was in absolute shock. We have worked very hard with her and it has paid off- she's amazing and from your pics in this video, I see that Daisy holds the same place with us that Gage held with your family. Words cannot express how sorry I am for your pain.
My sweet Goku was shot back in 2005. We do not know who did it, but I KNOW that he was not hurting anything. We were visiting friends and he escaped the fence. We found him later crawling down her driveway. He was shot in the leg with a fragmenting bullet and damage had been done to internal organs...he had to be put down. I cried so hard I threw up 3 times that night.

This is beyond senseless. Please know that your family is in my Prayers. I cannot even begin to imagine what I would do if it happened to one of my dogs, one of which is a pit bull.
Turn to God, He will get you through. Know that Gage is safe with Him.
No matter how the judge rules, Ray will answer for this on Judgment Day.
I hope his career is over. I cannot imagine any educational system wanting a person with his low moral character teaching young people.

I got to thinking that, perhaps, they should contact Chris DeRose at Last Chance For Animals, or maybe, Shannon Keith, who is an animal rights attorney.

I cried while watching this. Thank God you at least know who did the actual deed. One of my foster dogs was killed by a gunshot on 4/23/08. I know who did it but can't prove it. Lucy bled to death on my back porch. No need for this shooting either. How can we stop this unnecessary cruetly. My prayers are with you for your loss. Brought me to tears. There is no excuse for shooting a defenseless animal, and that guy has some nerve! I hope he rots in prison for the rest of his life!

WHY??? Gage was a dog - dogs bark. I'll sign the petition so that his killer get the max sentence possible. All states need reforms in animal cruelty laws! I would have loved to train Gage as an animal-assisted therapy dog to work alongside my mini-Dachshunds; he would have been such a comfort to the ill, injured, and elderly. Now he waits on the Rainbow Bridge.

This must be so incredibly difficult for you! My heart goes out to you and your family. Gage was a beautiful being. All of us with pets dread the day when they will have to pass on without us, but to take away a life force so needlessly and so violently is criminal. I feel your loss - so very much. I lost my beloved German Shephard & the void is still unbearable but she passed away naturally, NOT by a bullet!

I also wanted to tell you that i lost my angel Seth(cat) when he was 3 years old. He was FIV and became ill before i even knew. He had to be put to sleep and left his big brother behind. It broke my heart over and over. I thought i would die and i know deep inside part of me has died. Big Seth is with me and happy. He got used(so i believe) to live without his little brother. He is my child. I would never forgive a man who would take his life away. He will be punished. I have faith he will.

This video is amazing and really touched my heart. I can't stop crying. Gage looks just like my Gixxer that I lost. He was my baby just like Gage. It was like me watching a memorial of him. I am very sorry for your loss, I truly am. And for him to have to die the way he did is very sad. I can't imagine how you must feel seeing your baby go trough what he did. I am so sorry for your loss, I lost my Pug Ralph on November 4th 2007. A Bike Ran Him Over, Didn't Even Care to stop. He hit him on purpose. I didn't even know the bikey. It was by far the most heart breaking day of my life. Losing a Dog is one of the hardest things a Human Being Can Face, especially once they are apart of you and your family. All my love and sympathy goes out to the family of Gage.

We expect to outlive our dogs. But we imagine that day is long-off, and it will be a natural end to a life well-lived/loved.
I don't think many people can imagine their pets being murdered. The senselessness. The outrage. The injustice.
I didn't know Gage, but I know what it means to love a dog and spend all my energy protecting it from harm. I prefer to focus on Gage's wonderful life, rather than the terrible circumstances of his death...far too young.

This man deserves to be in prison for the rest of his life. This is the reality of life for animals, especially pitbulls. Unreasoning hatred by ignorant, cruel, abusive killers.
