The two gigants of (hard)rock (as most people said back then) had united and gone into a studio together - the world expected a miracle to happen... but the result was just ok or good at best. Sure it was a commercial hit, but it could have been so very much more, with that said it's still a great song. but still a lost opportunity.

This song came out in like 1988. The 80's was all about hair. It was a different simpler time. We loved our hair and we loved our hard rock and our hard rock was mainly about partying! This younger generation doesn't really get it because they come from the generation where everyone got a trophy.

As for music it was counter productive actually - solos were forced into every song (I Love solos btw), but creativity was replaced with excess. And this eventually led to the Grunge Movement, which killed the solo, but gave us way more creative music! But like any other style lifecycle, that came to an end as well.
