actually it was almost the 3oth time he played it in concert..and he does still make mistakes hes really good at covering them up and continuing without breaking the rhythm
Dave rarely makes mistakes on the guitar. I have seen probably six in my life, and most of them are from old concerts on youtube. I have seen him forget the words many times though, and he openly admits to that.
And no people, he is not "always high". Yes he smokes weed, yes he drinks, and I'm sure at some shows he's stoned before playin(I always see him holding a drink at the Gorge) BUT you have to know Dave. Even when he is sober he speaks that slowly, that awkwardly, and that randomly.
Very true Dave isn't always high or drunk when he plays....but I think the reason why he talks in such a slow pattern and sometimes incoherently its that his brain is getting effected by drug abuse from constantly touring and playing shows. Also for these younger people who like dave, he doesn't only smoke weed or drink alchol, he probably does coke and shoots up heroin...probably other things too. To prove my little theory check out his interviews when he was young.... he sounded pretty normal

Heroin addiction is a very serious affliction, but, who are we to judge? Right? I had a problem w. it for years and today I am clean (hence my name). Whenever I hear rhyme and reason it reminds me of those terrible days. But It made me the person I am today and help others through my experience, strength and hope, I hope Dave isn't on it becuase we have lost too many incredible preformers to that horrible drug, Cobain, Stayle, Holiday, Nowel. Hoon. Many more.
come ON...comments..this is so amazing, why, but why isn't this guy the most award winning musician out there...just ear this music, ear crash into me, ear everyday, listen to #41, crush, all along the watchtower, let you down, the space between, the cover of in my life, stay, some devil, american baby, and so on, and so on...so many 1º class songs...legendary songs...just amazing...c'mon...let's spread the dave matthews band for the people who don't know them
