You have Caroline who's a vampire risking her life so Tyler doesn't go through his transformation alone and then you have Tyler not knowing that his bite could kill her. But telling her to leave because he doesn't want to hurt her. Then at the very end you have the vampire embracing the werewolf!

in the book tyler actually left caroline who is pregnant with his baby and caroline who is NOT a vampire communicated with sinichi which is a fox.this siries is major alteration of the origininal book but oh well who cares

I prefer Tyler to Matt for Caroline because they need each other she was happier and more bubbly and he helped her adjust to being a vampire and didn't make her feel bad about it or ashamed and she did the same with him and made him a nicer, sweeter guy that opened up to her. They need each other and their chemistry is off the chain :) <3 them

every time i see these scenes i still get the chills, i remember the first words outta my mouth were "now that's what i call a transformation" none of that other stuff where boom they transform, nope this was totally realistic(well as realistic as something like this can get lol)
I'm so glad the writers are finally exploring a Tyler/Caroline relationship. That last episode with Matt breaking up with her will probably set tyler and her up for season 3 :)

I think it's amazing how these two have only had a storyline together for like 5 or 6 episodes, but somehow they seem to have the most developed and believable love stories in the whole show.

Best Vampire Diaries episode all thanks to these two. Michael Trevino's (Tyler) portrayal of the pain during the transformation ran chills down my spine. And Candice Accola's (Caroline) emotional performance really made me cry. They are my new reason for watching this show.

I was shipping these two while Matt & Caroline were together but then these two got scenes together and idk what happened but I seriously want/need them to have their own show! @Chelseacaps i hope so too. it's just that i thought they'd turn immortal once they trigger the curse. that they'd stay the age they were when the werewolves killed someone, cuz tyler's dad never triggered the curse but was still part of the blood line, so he could keep aging since he was still human. well, i don't really remember any details on tyler's dad from season one. did his dad ever kill anyone?
@inurin1350 according to mason, his dad never knerw about the curse..if he would have known i'm guessing he wouldn't have left john gilbert use that device(it affected werewolves too)..and yeah ..he was still human..remember the episode"the turning point"?..tyler punches jeremy at night and then they show the full moon behind him..but before that his dad made them fight each other and it was full moon and he was in human form..so he was not a werewolf imo...that's why he kept aging

This couple is the only reason i still watch Vampire Diaries. I don't like Stefena OR Delena and this new Jeremy/Bonnie thing freaks me out, but I got to admit Tyler and Caroline are perfect together, they just undeniably steal the show.

These two surprised me. They were mostly in the background for the better part of season 1. Now I think they have the best storyline in the show. I love the idea of Damon and Elena together, but to be honest I don't really care. it's all about this werewolf and vampire. Can't wait to see more of them. :)
This was really hard to watch. And even though I'm a hardcore Matt & Caroline fan, I would jump every time Caroline jumped and it was really such an emotional scene that i may have become a Tyler and Caroline fan to. This is gonna be a good triangle and i think I'll be happy with who ever she ends up with.

Wow I used to not like these characters at all but now I can't wait to see them on every episode. The writers made a good move turning Caroline into a vampire and they did such an excellent job transforming Tyler. Who would have thought these two would make a really interesting not to mention cute couple.
this episode blew me away, i know a lot of people said they were disappointed in everything else BUT the tyler changing storyline but I didn't feel any disappointment at all because this storyline totally squashed every other s/l in this episode period. Michael Trevino and Candice did such an awesome job...I almost cried...you could really feel the pain and the chemistry between these two. I hope Tyler + Caroline's relationship continues to grow...these two have far too much chemistry to ignore

I can't believe how much my opinion of these two has changed! I thought they were both selfish and shallow in season 1 and couldn't have cared less for them. Who knew they had so much depth?! They blew me away in these last few epi's! I hope they get together but I'm sure Tyler will be furious once he finds out that Caroline lied to him and he might turn against her (for some time anyway) but eventually he will come back b/c they're meant. After all, isn't anticipation the best part? :))

Tyler and Caroline's scenes are interesting.. I wish there's more to them this season 2 since tyler's a wolf and caroline's a vamp. there's got to be a lot of development in their stories for good. I hope this will give them a lot of Tyroline fans. Aaaahh!!
after tyler drinks the wolfbane drink and he starts gagging, I love the way caroline goes "shhhhshhh" and carresses his back:") and the way tyler keeps telling her to leave and that he doesn't want to hurt her *awwwwwww* they're both so caring towards each other!!!:))

For me, Tyler and Caroline kinda started off as a pass time until Damon and Elena got more scenes together(cause they HAVE NOT had enough scenes together lately!GRRR) ...but i didn't think that these two would be so damn perfect for each other!!:))) "I don't think it's like the hulk where i get to keep my pants" :))))))))) and i LOVE when Tyler says her name at 10:07 :,)) SO SWEET!!I'm HOOKED! Best Vampire Diaries episode all thanks to these two. Michael Trevino's (Tyler) portrayal of the pain during the transformation ran chills down my spine. And Candice Accola's (Caroline) emotional performance really made me cry. They are my new reason for watching this show.
Also love the subtle humour when Tyler says " what should I wear? I don't think it's like the Hulk where I get to keep my pants." Lol!! Hilarious!!

To the ppl saying Damon is all boring now that he's in love with Elena and that he isn't fun cuz he's not evil, FUCK YOU! -_- what do you expect?! for him to stay evil and not develop as a character? Elena was the one that actually reached out and showed Damon compassion and understanding. Damon and Elena belong together imo, they're much more interesting than Stelena. At least their relationship is built-up. God some of you are pea-brains...anyway, love Forwood.

I was shipping these two while Matt & Caroline were together but then these two got scenes together and idk what happened but I seriously want/need them to have their own show! They did this so well after watching this episode I asked myself how is anyone who likes them supposed to bear the fact that they are kind of in the backround of the whole Damon/Elena/Stefan situation? I'd much rather watch these two over the Damon/Elena?Stefan stuff, these two officially make the show!

@inurin1350 I'm not sure if they are immortal, but I know they keep aging like tylers dad kept getting older and he was a werewolf. So I guess they just kept growing. But I really hop they end up together somehow :)!

@Chelseacaps i hope so too. it's just that i thought they'd turn immortal once they trigger the curse. that they'd stay the age they were when the werewolves killed someone, cuz tyler's dad never triggered the curse but was still part of the blood line, so he could keep aging since he was still human. well, i don't really remember any details on tyler's dad from season one. did his dad ever kill anyone?

@inurin1350 according to mason, his dad never knerw about the curse..if he would have known i'm guessing he wouldn't have left john gilbert use that device(it affected werewolves too)..and yeah ..he was still human..remember the episode"the turning point"?..tyler punches jeremy at night and then they show the full moon behind him..but before that his dad made them fight each other and it was full moon and he was in human form..so he was not a werewolf imo...that's why he kept aging

Can u imagine a 70-something year old man walking down the steps to the cellar with his cane or walker and chain himself up while putting his dentures in a glass or something. XD lol. i can't.

Jules was mentioned as an old werewolf, maybe werewolves are immortal too or she triggered the curse at a younger age, which i highly doubt but i wanna know...

This couple is the only reason i still watch Vampire Diaries. I don't like Stefena OR Delena and this new Jeremy/Bonnie thing freaks me out, but I got to admit Tyler and Caroline are perfect together, they just undeniably steal the show.

These two surprised me. They were mostly in the background for the better part of season 1. Now I think they have the best storyline in the show. I love the idea of Damon and Elena together, but to be honest I don't really care. it's all about this werewolf and vampire. Can't wait to see more of them. :)

This was really hard to watch. And even though I'm a hardcore Matt & Caroline fan, I would jump every time Caroline jumped and it was really such an emotional scene that i may have become a Tyler and Caroline fan to. This is gonna be a good triangle and i think I'll be happy with who ever she ends up with.

The writers made a good move turning Caroline into a vampire and they did such an excellent job transforming Tyler. this episode blew me away, i know a lot of people said they were disappointed in everything else BUT the tyler changing storyline but I didn't feel any disappointment at all because this storyline totally squashed every other s/l in this episode period. Michael Trevino and Candice did such an awesome job...I almost cried...you could really feel the pain and the chemistry between these two. I hope Tyler + Caroline's relationship continues to grow...these two have far too much chemistry to ignore

I can't believe how much my opinion of these two has changed! I thought they were both selfish and shallow in season 1 and couldn't have cared less for them. Who knew they had so much depth?! They blew me away in these last few epi's! I hope they get together but I'm sure Tyler will be furious once he finds out that Caroline lied to him and he might turn against her (for some time anyway) but eventually he will come back b/c they're meant. After all, isn't anticipation the best part? :))
