I always found it a bit strange that Genma seems to spend roughly 90% of the time in his panda form. You almost get the sense that he actually PREFERS his cursed form to his human one.
@petercharleskrug Well it's more of a result of getting changed back into a panda every time he tries to go back. He figured it was easier to just stay that way most of the time. Especially since during the first part of the first season it seemed to be a main goal of the writers to see how many times in each episode they could come up with a reason to trigger the curse.
i love the part when the guide guy visits and when on break time, ranma has some pork buns and slaps his panda dad everytime he tries to touch the food he had. the cradle from hell made me laugh the most at the end-so pointless and funny.
Basically Genma is Mr. Fujinami with a much improved personality and a bit more meat on his bones.
Overall, I'd say that Genma at heart is someone with high aspirations and nearly no resistance to temptation. And he's also very impulsive, a trait he shares with his son..

You forgot to mention when he agreed to let Ukyo become Ranma's fiancee...then ran off with the okonomiyaki cart (which was Ukyo's dowry) and left her on the roadside.
yeah, I mean, it took a few seasons for Ranma to be stronger than him...I will repeat that, cause it needs repeating, it took a few seasons for RANMA to actually be stronger than GENMA
I don't hate Genma at all. He's actually among my favorites for the whole series. I sometimes have a thing for scheming characters, but Nabiki doesn't do it for me. There's rarely a dull moment when he's around, and his ego's pint-sized compared to that of his son. Plus, Ranma didn't get his own movie over the summer.

That's never going to happen. Evidence of his 'pigtailed girl' and Ranma being one and the same have been all but shoved into his face on multiple occasions. Kuno will just think it's another foul trick and continue what he normally does.
