@TheAmargao No, he wasn't first. The first rock and roll song is generally accepted to be Rocket 88 by Jackie Brenston. It was later covered by Bill Haley and was a bigger hit for him. Elvis's first hit was "That's All Right" / "Blue Moon of Kentucky" in 1954. Haley's had two rock releases in 1954, one of which was a hit - Rock Around The Clock. I think Elvis was actually credited as writing and recording the first "ROCKABILLY" hit. It's all just opinion anyway.
