Hi there, The type of camera it is makes anything that lights up look like a UFO. Take a look at the street light on the bottom right corner of screen at :12 seconds. See how the camera views a lighted object. Now the object they are zooming way, way in is really far out. Zooming in really makes this affect worse. Also the sun is setting in the background. A setting sun will make stars much brighter. What do you think?
I think it's exactly the camera, low res, that makes it more likely it was an object relatively close to ground rather than a distant star.
The object in this video has a definite shape, especially it's mid-part - well defined round metallic looking sphere. Also, the horizontal protrusions on both sides are well defined and of fairly constant shape.
If it was a distant star, it would be more irregular, blurred, shifting and twinkling.
@theInterzone You just explained what I was talking about. Take a look at the light on the house at 1:32. Don't you think it looks very similar to the object in the sky. This camera makes lighted objects tapper off on the left and right of every light. So it only multiplied this effect when it zoomed in on the object in the sky.
