America has been trapped in a two-party system for decades. No one outside the two parties stands a real chance right now. It's easier for stupid Americans (and most of them are stupid) to choose one of the two easy choices laid out in front of them than to study the issues and go with a candidate they believe in. McCain has won. There's absolutely no way Ron Paul can become the Republican nominee unless either McCain drops out, or dies.
Obama on the other hand will most likely beat Hillary and be the Democratic nominee. He'll also get more cross-over votes from the Republican side, and is guaranteed to beat McCain. However he needs all the votes he can get to beat Hillary.

Even if we have to write it in. However I don't think that will be necessary, by November his common-sense message will have spread widely enough to make him practically a shoe-in.

If Ron Paul runs as an Independent under a new party and gets 5% of the popular vote in November, That party can get federally distributed public funding in the next election.

If he doesn't get the nomination, he should definitely run independent. If he doesn't run at all, a lot of his supporters won't "write him in", and some electronic ballots don't allow that. But if he forms his own Party, in a coalition with the Libertarian Party, Independence Party, Reform Party, Centrist Party, etc. that could be quite a force to reckon with.
I have thought about this issue for some time...if Ron paul is not the nominee, I must vote or him anyway. I dont want any party to tell me which canidate I must vote for by their nomination. McCain has won. There's absolutely no way Ron Paul can become the Republican nominee unless either McCain drops out, or dies.
Obama on the other hand will most likely beat Hillary and be the Democratic nominee. He'll also get more cross-over votes from the Republican side, and is guaranteed to beat McCain. However he needs all the votes he can get to beat Hillary.
It's because people decided to throw their vote away and vote for Nader insted of Gore that the US ended up with Bush.

I sure hope so, for they are moving on our rights and end of sovernty very fast now. HR 1955 will end freedom of speech and curb any form of decent. Time is running out for us, Real ID card already for us too have, so we can show our papers just like in Hitler times. I can see the end and it will come as most are sleeping. Thanks for keeping hope alive:)

If Ron Paul runs as an Independent under a new party and gets 5% of the popular vote in November, That party can get federally distributed public funding in the next election.
We don't need more clout from the Republicans or the Democrats. We need to shake it up. If neither side is going to respect you, take your own side.

There's no more time left. I've seen the engineered destruction of America over the last 40 years and it's now or never. In the past, one could always plan to move to Canada but that country is no longer safe from the NWO. New Zealand is too far away and they KNOW they'd be swamped with fleeing Americans, so they keep a TIGHT rein on immigration!

If he doesn't get the nomination, he should definitely run independent. If he doesn't run at all, a lot of his supporters won't "write him in", and some electronic ballots don't allow that. But if he forms his own Party, in a coalition with the Libertarian Party, Independence Party, Reform Party, Centrist Party, etc. that could be quite a force to reckon with.

I have thought about this issue for some time...if Ron paul is not the nominee, I must vote or him anyway. I dont want any party to tell me which canidate I must vote for by their nomination. It is my right to vote for anyone I want, for any reason. Of course, Ron Paul will be blamed for splitting the ticket but, that is bull...the 2 party system is to blame. I Hope Ron will change his stance on this issue and contiue running for president until the end.

Ron Paul has my support. If he doesn't get the nod. I'm going to vote whoevers veiws are closet to his. Even if it means voting for the dems. Unless it's Hillary. And yes I'm registered GOP.

It's still a little early, BUT if the GOP is stupid enough NOT to nominate Ron Paul then he SHOULD run as an independent. Any talk of it being a "wasted vote" or a "vote for _____" is a non-issue because NO mainstream candidate of EITHER party will do what needs to be done anyway. And Ron Paul could WIN!
