  • How sickening is our system. This isn't the first case our system horribly failed on. I've seen many more sadly. Yet when watching the entire biography the people who wrongly convicted him dont seem to act like they did anything wrong. Honestly if out system wasn't so messed up and wrong. They should have put that guy that wrongly convicted time in jail. What a phony! he should fired. He obviously isn't able to look at a case correctly. He should loose his job. Free a spot up for someone.

  • You can't make the "state of Colorado" responsible........each INDIVIDUAL player in this crime needs to become homeless and destitute and in prison themselves. As it is, the taxpayers paid and the filth had NO accountability and that's why the corruption continues in Fort Collins. Innocent people are railroaded every day......it must be a very lucrative racket that they've got going here. It's utterly disgusting.

  • this 15 year old kid took on the entire state of Colorado...and in the end, he won. now that's pretty awesome.

    TAKE THAT SOCIETY!

  • although I think the cop in this case was convinced he was right had no right to withhold alternate theories. He should just admit he was wrong and Tim should be compensated large. i remember seeing this case on A&E's cold case files long time ago. This young man should never have to worry financially for the rest of his life. he's earned it. The police had no right to with hold evidence.

  • I saw this case a while back, and sad to say, I was convinced he probably did do it. They left out all the details. I never remember hearing about Hammond (who was likely the guy), the dragging scene, and other key evidence. They made it sound like this kid had problems and simply ran into this women while she was walking along a trail, then attacked her. No mention of her being in a car ( the scuff marks). Please, how did this kid even know her. Chances are, no way.

  • Only an adult could lure another adult like that into a private area, kill them, and then dump them. Kids rarely kill adults they don't know.

People i know, feel that Hammond and his wife were likely the killers, and most likely have the goods on that Broderick (cop), and blackmailed him, or paid him, to take the heat off of them. Plus, did anyone ever think Hammond broke into neighbor's houses to look for pictures and sexy items? If you can build an extra room, you can learn to pick locks.

  • Tim should NOT have been convicted based on "obscene" drawings. The police are in the wrong -- they should have checked the evidence more carefully -- more importantly, how did TIm do it? Cracked a bottle on her head, dragged her out into the middle of the field next to his house -- and cut off her "intimates"-- what, a fifteen year old with a duracell flashlight in his mouth and a cheap pocket knife? Didn't think so. Also, this may be irrelevant, but, Tim was too good looking LOL XD

  • Lt. Jim Broderick, people like him who go "BY THE BOOK LEAVING NO STONE UNTURNED" are responsible for a lot of grief in this world, what happened to independent thought? You stole the best years of an INNOCENT man's life. I hope Tim Masters sues the hell out of those corrupt cops.

  • @gontarzodiac my question is ,how many more innocent people did this piece of shit lye on and send to prison .if there is justice then this piece of shit cop needs to go to prison and live in the same cell that masters lived in.but that will never happen he just goes on lying, framing people and destroying family,s..hell.he could have killed this poor lady just to have a case he could brag about solving and sent the suspect to jail.WHAT A PIECE OF SHIT THIS MAN IS.just my opinion

  • You have serious mental problems, look at the evidence, dickhead.

  • @gontarzodiac looks like the evidence was wrong, cause he is getting out of jail and no longer a suspect, DICK HEAD!

  • stupid american cops, put that stupid cop in jail who was interigating Tim. He was so leading Tim the Whole time the FAGGOT COP. He deserves to be in Jail that Piece of shit PIG...

  • I just viewed the video of his interrogation by detectives on cnn's site. this is outrageous. someone should pay for what this poor boy, 'now a man' went through. In his interrogation he said that he didn't tell about what he saw because he thought he could be wrongly accused. As it turns out he was right. If you are in law inforcement please don't rush to judment on anyone. In my neighborhood, the only people i am afraid of are the police.

  • fucken shit...unbearable to see that video. of course he would think and say stuff like that...HE'S 15. god damn i though this world have some smart people who would see the truth.

  • Unfortunately this happens more than people believe. Many law enforcement and in the DA's office care more about their prosecution record than justice. I was told by a judge that it does not take a great DA to prosecute the guilty, but it does take a great DA to prosecute the innocent. The sheriff and DAs in this case should pay personally for their willful misconduct.

  • *legalize marijuana*

  • how can we send him some money?

  • im hella poor, but im gonna send him some money or buy his shit

  • I just want to extend my support for Tim Masters

the whole story makes me ill

they pretty much destroyed this young mans life

I sure would like to show him support somehow

    poor kid

  • Is it true that the cop Jim Broderick was caught having sex with several infants in November of '08'? If true what a scumbag,if not true I would bet it's only a matter of time...that piece of filth has pedophile written all over his face.

  • turtlestyle , I cannot believe that the police didn't take a closer look at the boyfriend back when the investigation began.

  • Bad police work, bad DA's office, idiotic jury. ZERO physical evidence, flimsy circumstancial evidence twisted to fit the story the DA's office wanted portrayed and an innocent man in prison for 10 years. What a joke! AND...the two prosecuting DA's in this case are now JUDGES! These two don't have a clue was "EVIDENCE" is and yet they are presiding over cases. Larimer County, Colorado! Great place!

  • I remember when A&E crucified that man on their show. All there were was some drawings he made and many were before the murders. They also could never get a confession out of that poor man. All the physical evidence at that crime scene said he did not do it. How the hell can a 15 year-old drag a corps as far as it was and now even stop. There were no stop marks in the drag trail. He did not even know that woman and never saw her. This is the shit the system does when they focus on a person.

  • I disagree . Tim should write a book and make his money that way. If he COPS another deal from government, part of settlement would be to not talk about case or time in jail and who knows what else he got set up once already he does not need to go through that again.Make money in the FREE world and stay away from Government. Why not kill 2 birds with one stone . write a book tell us of our dirty system and we can change it AND he can get rich at the same time.

  • I originally felt as you do but I've changed my mind. I live in Ft. Collins and the local government doesn't care about any books written. The only way to convince them to be honest is to hurt them in their pockets! That is all they care about here.

  • I never thought Tim Masters was guilty; I mean, how COULD you? There's no evidence! I hope they give him tons of money, it's ridiculous what he has had to endure. I don't know if he's going to forgive and forget but I know the people standing by him like me won't. This story will haunt the system for years.

  • A&E covered this case a long time ago. Tim was convicted on some drawings he had done and zero else. What a stupid jury and evil cops and prosecutors. Redundant.

And Bill 'Dooper' Curtis and Co. thought he was guilty. Way to go, Big Bill.

  • Yeah, I know. Drawings and a knife collection doesn't make you capable of murder and sexual mutilation at the age of fifteen, for goodness sake.

  • There is a universal prosecutorial mindset: 'Everyone who is accused is guilty'.

In the U.S. there are ten thousand Mike Nifongs who don't make headlines.

  • Sadly, some law enforcement officers lie and some prosecutors willfully exclude exculpatory evidence in order to convict those whom they know are not guilty. They do not care that they ruin innocent lives; they only care about clearing case files and furthering their careers. Often lauded as pillars of the community by an unknowing public, such "public servants" are rarely held accountable when their unconscionable betrayal of public trust is finally exposed.

  • Big egoes and carefree free spirited attitudes just dont mix too good and this case proves it. Police hate that kind of attitude. They call it dissing them. As in dont DISS me. Gangs use that mentality. Police have sunk to a new level. Unfortunetly they still have the unregulated power to abuse, alot more than any gang. Same mentality just a bigger punch behind it. The justice system has gone to deep depths when a kid gets convicted because of his attitude, lifestyle and how he carries self.

  • A video Fort Collins, Colorado, police officer attempts to coax a murder confession out of 15-year-old Tim Masters in 1987 on CNN.

  • Wow, this video comment is right on the money. What made me feel even worse was watching his "confession" video. I saw a good, mature kid calmly proclaim his innocence. The sincerity on his face was chilling. The interrogator toally went about the wrng way of questioning. I hope he gets a settlement to where he has never has to work again for another day of is life.

  • I hope he gets his WHOLE story out for everybody to read, because it isnt only him that goes through this. Larimer County JUST got caught this time around. What about all the other prisoners falsly accused by this system for same stupid SIMPLE reasons. He is helping every other injustice police department out as much or more than himself with a settlement. A settlement only helps the police. Police live and die by P.R.,reputation Uncover the so many coverups by bringing LIGHT to the situation.
