  • cool

  • don't get this at all. it's like scratching your right ear with you left arm over your head! it seems to me to be doing more steps.

How hard is it to even up the 2 ends...make a small loop or circle around your pointer with both ends together and pulingl the end through and sliding it into a knot at the bottom?

    ;-p

  • whatta bout doubling? i double up too like yubble.

  • Great technique, thanks!

  • Threadbanger, not Threadheads, sorry that was bothering me.

  • Thanks for this! I'm making a plushie for my friend, hand sewing it, and I needed a better technique on how to tie a knot.

    This helped A LOT.

Thank you Threadbanger & Glass Onion!

    *snip snip*

  • I love this technique. Thanks!!

  • Esa no me la sabía. Thanks :D

  • I double up because my a lot of my thread is kind of old. So I thread the needle, and hang two even lengths. I knot by just twirling and messing the end between my thumb and index finger until a knot happens. Ha, it works for me.

  • My mum uses that technique but I never managed it.... Thanks for explaining!

  • I actually didn't know this o.o Not like the way I was doing it took long but, this is cool to know ^^

  • I remember how to do that but I did it with my finger. My teacher called it a booger knot. xD

  • my granny (RIP) used to knot the thread using only two fingers of the same hand... :O she was such a master!!

  • A playlist with all the short tip videos would be a great addition to your youtube page

  • You ROCK! :)

  • I've *never* seen that technique! Very, very cool!

  • lol my mom thought me this when i was like 5.

  • cool. lol i learned this from my grandma before.

all around fact, i guess :]

  • Great tip!!! Thank you!

  • thanks Glass Onion :)

  • I was taught the one handed technique in primary school. You wrap the end once around your index finger, rub it off with your thumb and pull it tight between thumb and middlefinger. Very fast and very easy.

  • if I were only that coordinated! someday, maybe you can show this on video...?

  • a really, really cool quilter, years ago, taught that same technique, although she recommended twice over, as the knot would still be small enough to squeak under the fabric when hand quilting. I have used this technique and it's FANTASTIC...for heavy duty repairs you might need the 4th wrap around.

    I LOVE THREADBANGERS

    DON'T STOP CREATING

  • You know, Lots of people are upset that you guys don't only put up tutorials. But personally, I love how you guys are going out and fining ways to show people that creativity and DIY isn't only for clothing. Not just that, finding tutorials like this helps everyone. I mean, not everyone was taught this when they started. So, way to go, Threadbanger. You rock out loud. ♥

  • This will sound lame, but I actually needed this. I was taught in a different way that works, but this is way easier. Lol.

  • it's not lame at all - this is the way information gets shared! why are people so negative about such a positive channel? thanks for letting threadbangers know how much they are needed! peace

  • I'm sorry but threadbanger isn't what it used to be. I don't like the things they make. And this was just stupid.

  • why threadbangers?

  • Isn't that a French knot as in for embroidery? Seems undesirably large for fine sewing on silk at any rate. Nevermind, cute video.

  • I never knew about that knot. Thank you. :D

  • come on thread bangers! lol who needs help tying a knot?

  • Judging by the responses, a lot of people. Some people are just starting out.

  • beginners..

  • lots of people~! there are all kinds of folks who use the internet for educational purposes. I'm going to have to agree with the person who asked why the complaints, as the video was marked exactly as it was presented. Someone has to pass on the information. Thanks GlassOnion...and the store in KZ rocks too!

  • I tie my knots this way too!

  • sweet

  • Lookin´ through a glass onion

  • this was kind of a waste.D:

hope they put a real one this week still

  • they put out a full episode today too. a decor it yourself

  • Oh well.... So after you watched a vid, that was announcing exactly what was in it and useful to any REAL crafter, you just HAD to say something ugly... So that maybe you can go to bed today and say: Oh yes, I said something completely dumb and out of place....Be proud of it. Maybe some day you will realise, that they put up a real (yes sure... this one was unreal... was only in your mind) one today, too...

Uh I hate it, when people who have nothing to say, still feel the need to do it.

    Thanks

  • geeeeenious.

  • I don´t need anyone to tell me how to tie a knot...

  • Then why did you watch a video titled "How to tie a knot"?

  • Because I like the show and watch every episode but this was disapointing.

  • she looks like my brother's ex-girlfriend...i hate my brother's ex-girlfriend

  • LOL.. this made my laugh.. you made my day a bit more better =)

  • glad to be of service =]

  • There's a place in kalamazoo Michigan called the glass onion. Its full of cool stoner gear

  • I love that place! I got a huge ass piece from there... lol... They are a little pricey, but awesome... I used to go there all the time when I lived on Douglas.

  • this was disappointing...

  • She is obviously a girl.

I think if you have nothing nice to say don't say it at all. People should stop saying how they have mistaken HER for a him. That's not nice at all.

  • uh.. 33rd!!! XD luv this

  • cool :D I've always wanted to know what glass onion looks like ^^

  • yeee...threadbanger...interesting movie but we need more of you guys. maybe annother hat tutorial?(sp??)

  • omg thats glass onion i have always wanted to know what she looked like

  • i feel bad i thought she was a he =/

  • theres an easy way than that. lick your finger, wrap the thread around that and roll it off

  • Yeah, I like doing that too because the knot comes out as a nice size. If I tie it regularly, the knot ends up being too small and the entire thread ends up going through whatever I'm trying to sew...

  • I love threadbanger, but this seems like a desperate filler.

  • i know, they don't have anymore cool "how to's" anymore... i miss them...

  • tha'ts not true, they have TB projects every friday.

  • alrighty then, i guess i'm just bored cause there's not much that interests me.

  • How can you call it a "filler" when they uploaded 2 more episodes this week?

  • Hey, there was a full episode released on the same day! Don't you worry, there's plenty of Threadbanger to go around.

  • please don't stop posting rudimentary techniques...if the know it alls want to complain, let them post their own work with advanced hoo-ha...threadbangers is ALWAYS on the positive! peace

  • love this way of tying knots, i wanna try it!

  • awesome :)

  • wow how cool is that!

  • nice

  • That's how I tie my knots!

  • that is cool!!! thanx

  • o wow! cool i learn something new! thanks!

  • that's a lot easier than how i tie my knots! thanks! =)

  • actually for a more secure knot at the begining of a handstich you could just tie the loose thread together, then make one stich in the fabric. then you pull the needle through the loop of the rest of the thread, like you would if you were finishing off a hand sewn project. then just keep going.

  • thats so smart

im going to use that one

  • That's cool, I've never seen a knot like that

  • French Knot right?

I use those for making eyes on tiny plushes

  • nice vid

  • i think it's easier just to wrap the end around your finger and pinch and roll it to get a knot - much easier than that

  • yeah thats the way my mom taught me to tie a knot.

  • Yup, that's how I've always done it.

  • thats how ive always tie a knot...

  • ahhaha, how to tie a knot? nice.

  • Why do people call it ThreadHeads?

  • Threadheads is the name of the main show with Rob and Corinne. Threadbanger is the name of the whole website.

  • Nice! I've been sewing for years and never thought of that. Good job!
