I used to be a windows fanboy. I gave ubuntu 10.10 a try, so I can say I tried it and say it was shit, but I honestly believe it is better than windows. I can still run Photoshop, after effects, and 3ds Max on it, so my video production won't decrease. Not to mention gaming thanks to wine! Ubuntu FTW!

Anyways, sorry for my rude comment.

The best way to download ubuntu if you are native to windows is to use Wubi (Windows Ubintu Installer), just search Wubi in google and you should be able to find it. Also there are guides on Youtube showing how to use Wubi if you need help.

Yeah. Installing it with wubi also lets you test out Ubuntu, and still have LoJack installed on your laptop. I don't know if it still makes calls when you're on your ubuntu partition, but LoJack does not wipe your MBR like a normal install does after reboot.
