When I was a line-mechanic in a few VW dealerships, we used to call the "air deflectors", "Jesus Clips"...as in "Jesus (CH---t)!!!", I forgot those clips! Oh, by the way, we all quickly learned to HATE the Type 4's! Thus, in the early 1970's MANY, including myself, baled & went to one of the Jap-car stores.
hey man, im trying to rebuild my first motor, an 1835, it was in a sandrail that rolled and the crank got lose and screwed up the cylinders, block looks ok, and so does the crank and cam, heads need to be cleaned and i need new cylinders and pistons. any advise?
i would definitely check the case to make sure it's in good shape, it may need align bored, if the crank and rods are within tolerance i would go for it man....
A nice tip for putting in pushrod tubes is to wrap the tube with a red shop towel (tightly) and use that like you would use the vice grip. Never bends the tube...
Nice vid's im learning allot . Thank you !
