  • this race was the start of my renaissance as a vettel-admirer.

in the early and mid part of the season, his attitude, mistakes and lack of form were really starting to bug me. but after his engine blew up in korea and he showed utter humility and self-containment, he won me again.

congratulations vettel for the world championship and i happily withdraw my criticisms of you.

  • I'm a big vettel supporter but i still say your attitude doesn't change over night. If webber hadn't binned it in that same race vettel would have been pissed the hell off.

  • @Anime998877 - i still say it's a massive improvement. remember him in hungary? contrast that to the vettel we see here, he's a completely new person.

his attitude didn't change overnight either, i'd noticed it starting to improve post-belgium.

  • Now as a Vettel Fan you can just laugh about it and probably Vettel himself too :D

It was part of his Victory season, so... ^^

  • anyone who has anything but god things to say should be slapped .

and of course you could not drive better either.

  • everyone here is talking shit about vettel , are you mad???

"bad mistakes" you show me one person who hasent on the track ???

i assume anyon watching this has never raced open wheel . wed dont know the stresses, mental and physical these guys are under. just the traveling alone with the change of time zones so frequent it would be mad . up to 5 g under braking! 0 to 180 in like 9 seconds. then the season length . plus the testing for nest years car.not like "real" sport

  • alonso's engine will fail in brazil. vettel will win the race, and go on to win at yas marina and become the world champion!! may the force be with you sebastian vettel

  • HAHAHA!!!!

  • Alonso clearly is beating them with a clearly less competitive car.

Alonso deserves this title more then any other driver.

  • Consistency!!!!! That's the key. If your car is unreliable, quit pushing like hell...aim for a podium...and save points...2 seconds and a 3rd, gives you more points than 2 wins and a DNF...If you want to be WC, be smart, cold and play your odds...don't gamble on something you can't control (or don't know how to control)...

  • Unbelieveable that he can smile after this! Thumbs up if you also think so!

  • bahrain. engine. 13 lost points.

    melbourne. brakes. 25 lost points.

    barcelona. brakes. 3 lost points.

great britain. tires. 19 lost points.

south korea. engine. 25 lost points.

all in all, a very unlucky vettel.

  • Lol no he was just saying that cuz of the visor he had on it was very dark for him to see ahead. I was so annoyed to see Seb's engine blow!! up 5 hours just to see Alonso win when it should of been Seb.

  • Lemme get this straight - his engine blew because his visor was too dark?

  • "We keep our head down." 1:56.

  • Jodete puto lloron, te han dado todo y has un jodido incapaz, levanta el dedo ahora... o mejor vete a llorar a Horner o a MR MateSHIT

  • I was so devastated when his engine blew up. I'm all prayers for him to be 2010 World Champion. <3

  • @juliejurie now ur prayers came true.... he oredi become 2010 World Champion!!! Go go go SEB!

  • LOL anti-vettel much?

For your information he took pole, he did not put a foot wrong all race, webber did in 2 laps. He was only quicker than Alonso by 2 tenths in qualifying - that's not a dominant car. Whenever the safety car appeared and left the circuit Vettel simply disappeared into the distance. He was the best driver in Korea.

Why should he be greatful that the car has robbed him of 70 points this season? I'd rather be in a marginally slower car with better reliability.

  • @Anime998877 its also driver though, look at hamilton, had 2 mechanical retirements and a issue with the car that droped him down the feild, vettel has had two mech retirements and a issue thats dropped him down the feild, and he has had a faster car all year, more poles and more fastest laps and yet he is behind hamilton now.

  • @Anime998877 dont try to find excuses for vettel. everyone this year had bad luck and made mistakes (ok, jenson button did no mistake all the season long). what about hamiltons gearboxes or ferraris engines at the beginning of the season. Vetel has lost 2 victories but in turkey it was all his fault and a failed teamorder. to be first you have to finish first. thats racing. well its for a fan frustrating but it is normal.

  • I don't care about Hamilton's bad luck, I stated in the above post what good luck he's had this season that should cancel all that out. Alonso's had some real bad luck too but still nowhere near the amount vettel's had.

Vettel's made major errors this season (turkey, hungary, belgium) as has webber (australia, korea, valencia) as has hamilton (italy, singapore) as has alonso (australia, china, belgium)

The difference is nobody but vettel has lost 3 certain victories.

  • @Anime998877 In a season you are bound to have good luck and bad luck, Alonso has probably been the luckiest out of all of them, especially when you consider eg. spain when lewis and vettel had problems, korea when vettel's engine blew, plus many more.

BUT Vettel only has himself to blame, yes he had that engine failure, he has clearly been the fastest man all season but crashing into his own team mate in turkey, falling asleep in hungary those are some pretty poor mistakes.

  • What is your point exactly? I've stated Vettel's made poor mistakes, I've also stated Alonso's made poor mistakes, as has Webber and Hamilton.

But Vettel's lost 70 points through mechanical failures - much more than anybody else. He should have the title sealed up by now but fate has seemingly decreed he's not allowed to do that this year..

  • @Anime998877 My point is mechanical failures are part and parcel of motor sport. But mistakes aren't. Yes he lost 50 points from korea and Aust and some other points as well. You can't expect to go through a whole season without mechanical problems, but not making mistakes and luck wins you championships. He could be leading the championship, if he didn't make his two stupid mistakes in turkey and hungary. Hamilton could be leading, if he didn't have mechanical failures as well.

  • Sorry mate I still don't understand you. I'll just go back to my point - Vettel could be leading if it wasn't for mistakes, Hamilton could also be leading if it wasn't for mistakes, Webber could also be leading if it wasn't for mistakes. The fact is everybody this season has made a mistake or two that have lost them points - it doesn't matter because in the end there's only 1 guy that's lost 70 points through no fault of his own.

  • @Anime998877 experts would beg to differ. Some are saying Vettel's inexperience has contributed to some of his mechanical problems. Maybe races we have seen Vettel drive extremely hard for no particular reason just to set the fastest time.

You can also say if Red Bull doesn't favor Vettel, webber would of won the championship by now.

  • Tell me do you think prost deserved to win the 1989 championship? Both Prost and Senna made mistakes that season. The points at the end of the season were Prost 76, Senna 60 despite the fact that Senna whooped his ass - 14 to 2 in qualifying and what would have been 10-0 on wins became 6-4 because senna had 4 mechanical failures while leading, and prost inherited every single one of them. Despite the points saying Prost won, it's obvious he was pwned so badly he ran off to ferrari for 1990.

  • @Anime998877 well obviously you don't know you f1 very well. In 1989 the best 11 results counted towards the championship, so Senna's 4 mechanical failures wouldn't of counted. It was the inconsistency of Senna, very much like Vettel cost him the title. Prost placed consistently that was how he won. Without a doubt Senna was the faster driver. Just like this season Vettel was the fastest driver, but his own stupid mistakes cost him. It wasn't just racing incidents, it was stupid mistakes.

  • Utter rubbish. You clearly don't know f1 if you have no idea what best 11 results mean.

    For your information Senna's best 11 results in 1989 were: 11 1 1 1 7 1 2 1 1

Only 7 points finishes that equals = 60 points. Assuming he were to take the 4 wins 7+4 = 11 so yes the wins WOULD have counted. He would have another 36 points for a total of 96 altogether.

  • YOU ARE THE BEST SEBI!<333 Just keep going race is still on and you survived it like a fighter, smiling that is the way to the legends,i am with you forever <333 whatever happens you are our champion!
