@mishutabbie They only get to practice for a week, but they were taught by a professional Bollywood instructor--an Indian instructor, in fact. He was careful to warn them of some offensive gestures to avoid making, but they will not be perfect. The Bollywood movies I have seen are more impressive, but let's give these two credit--they worked hard and had fun!

as great as katee was, the best part of these two was how versatile joshua, a hip hop dancer was, he was capable of doing almost anything, he was the perfect partner for a great technician(katee)!!

i love these guys but I hate the dance. Indian dance is all about chemistry and passion, and moving to each exact beat of the song. I didn't feel any chemistry in the song, especially since the translated lyrics are about a guy and girl falling in love.

see the problem is now that the dancing in so you think you can dance is being lost. its more about the tricks and the gymnastics. I was taught as a ballet dancer that the height of the leg is not as important, or the height of the jump is not as important as the movement with the music, as the technique of the foot. Its sad to watch an art-form be destroyed and altered so that the population of America is satified. IT used to be real dancing on this show (Katie Joshua). Now... its just moving.

@Kunaal19 Yeah us Indians know that you can't see people doing that here. I seriously can't imagine Shah Rukh doing what the guy did in the video. I wouldn't even call this bollywood dancing. Bollywood is usually more "chak de patte".

As of now, I've largely come to associate bollywood dancing to the hero dancing with a hundred blonde women around him even if he's in a club in Delhi.

@Kunaal19 your holier-than-thou attitude is what's so insanely funny. these guys were awesome in sytycd's very first bollywood dance. i am indian and so are my friends, and when we saw this, we thought it was so amazing that we kept rewatching it. esp cuz joshua/katee had never done bolly or classical indian before. these 2 brought an american athleticism to the mix that made this bolly number refreshing.
