I think they should make a third "Chrono" game and have like the main character for that game come together with Serge and Crono in some dimension where they all are with each other and them three work together to defeat some real threat to the the dimensions and time. It would be epic. They should also make some more touching beautiful music like this :)

the real fact about this epic game or series is that the creators haven't planned for a sequel, but fortunately, the series is not dead. The original team stressed out that they were busy in the Final Fantasy series and said that it would take a while before they CAN/COULD reunite and make a sequel. All hail to the best minds who founded such magnificent games, such as these. Yasunori Mitsuda's music just perfected everything. :)

Been playing Chrono series since they all first came out, how I got the ending of this is she's looking for her brother Janus (Magus, Guile), cause she says, I will find you, etc., you may not know you're you & i may not know i'm me. After you defeat Time Devourer & save Schala, she's molding into one being & acting like Kid & Schala. She married Serge, shows in a picture @ the end, so the only thing is her brother, missing piece in her life, & remember Lucca's letter to kid. Agree 2 Disagree.

The implications being there won't be another sequel, and what happened to Chrono and the others is left up to the player to interpret. It strongly implies though that a vengeful Lavos killed them, it suggests so at the end of the first game on the DS which has an expanded story.

Man...please if someone can help me.I stopped playing Chrono Cross about a year ago but I still have my file. I stopped because I wanted to see the scene with the burning house in Kid's mind but a Black Square blocks the screen.I could still move,talk,do whatever I want but I couldn't see.I really wanted to see that scene.
Now I at least want to finish the game, even though I don't completely remember the story. I was playin' on ePSXe, version 1.6.0 or 1.7.0, French or English. Tried everything.
19 people got the black screen ending if you dont know what it means, it's basically saying you just killed existence itself. You want the true ending? cast elements in the right color order: Yellow, Red, Green, Blue, Black, and White then have Serge cast Chrono Cross. Enjoy.

@foolpr00f el nido is the sort of paradise that doesn't exist even on our world. The pacific islands are pretty fucked up man, some places still have cannibalism. I feel you though; Chrono Cross really made you fall in love with El Nido didn't it? That simple way of life, and all that beauty?
why are there those "weird full motion video scenes?" I'll shed a little light on that; Chrono Cross is about parallel universes right? The FMV is to show that Kid sometimes looks for Serge on OUR world. Japanese creative teams do that sometimes to bring the story closer.
there is a spooky quality to this song; it is almost as if this game was aimed at people born in the early 80's it has an overpowering message by the programmers saying "youth is over now, time to grow up." That is what I got most from this song way back when when I first played this.
I'm sure I left a comment here early on in this video's life time that blasted ppl who were downrating this for being an "emo" song. I just ordered this game on Amazon...I thought it would be 100+ dollars but the whole order ended up being $17.70...dang.
I'm excited! I kept thinking about the game until I was just like "Jeez, what's wrong with me? I love video games. They have awesome stories! I love stories so just buy it you dummy!" xD So I have. I was also super curious after seeing these clips. I was born at a time where I wouldn't have heard of this game but I'm glad that I heard about it at all. ^_^

At least I was born early enough to really start getting into games at a time when games were going through their Golden Age. I would never trade my memories of games like FF7-10, Chrono Cross, and Shenmue for anything. You're very lucky to have a chance to play this game. Oh yeah. I'm enjoying it a lot already. I'm stuck on a boss but I'm figuring out a strategy and don't want to give up on the game. It's the boss in Isle of the Damned.
I like this game just as much as today's games. Maybe more. The story and music sold me, but the graphics are good too. I can tell they're from an older era, but they're great.
A lot less straightforward as Chrono Trigger. Chrono Trigger made sense, this game was more of a mindtwister xD That little visit to Chronopolis was an introduction to Quantum physics for crying out loud.

this game is great. good story, characters, gameplay and graphics for its time. i found those to be better than most games now adays, now games are only online and lack story, characters and even good gameplay.
I remember my reaction the first time I watched this. I was like, "who is that woman and why is she walking around in a modern, real-world setting?"
I figured it had something to do with time, that Schala was constantly being reborn up to this very day. But now I think it has more to do with the overall theme of time and parallel worlds. What better way to end the game than by juxtaposing the real & game worlds, letting Schala "cross" into ours?
Hey guys! The Remastered Xenogears CD just came out! It's a bunch of Xenogears music (which we all know was also MItsuda's work), but it's orchestrated! It's called Myth: Xenogears Orchestrated, or something like that. Perhaps if enough people buy, an orchestrated Chrono album will be on its way in a year or two? Rumor has it he's working on one...
Oh, trust me, there are plenty of people who sadly dislike this game. Unfortunately, it's mostly butthurt Chrono Trigger fans who didn't like that it wasn't a direct sequel, and therefore decided it was an awful game.
Yes, but not in the traditional sense of the word, in that it barely had more than a few references to the main characters or the plot of the previous game. What I'm saying is that what a bunch of people wanted and expected was "Chrono Trigger 2", and they didn't get that, so they RAAAAGED.
This was the greatest RPG i have played so far.. and the ending was the best one you can ever see in a video game, those 18 who dislike this video were too blinded by this awesome OST that they misclicked dislike button :)

man, and to think how much we took these games for granted when they were new. Its true what they say; youth is indeed wasted on the young, and things of true value you only apreciate when you mature. Imature people can't appreciate what has real value, hence why we didn't apreciate these games when we were teens or kids

Wow, watching this ending theme I feel like back to the old times, when I was just a kid playing this game ... I wish I could go back to the time and play it again like it was for the first time.
This ending makes tears well up in my eyes every time I come to listen to the song. Damn you, Squaresoft, for making such a wonderful game that caused me great pain to complete; damn you, Radical Dreamers, for composing such a beautiful song that it moves me to tears every time I listen to it; and damn you, modern video gaming, for destroying the exquisite gameplay that I adored as a child.
Something about this music makes me feel like everything will be alright... likethe black and white are the troubles or illusions of now, but the colored background shows how the future is brighter and clearer
probably the most immersive RPG i've ever played to this day, and it's largely because of the soundtrack. I'd gladly give my left nut for another chrono game.
I used to have a difficult time playing this game as a child. Now it's cake to beat the game O_o....by far the easiest Square's game i have ever played. The soundtrack in this game gets me all emotional sometimes lol, sniff sniff (especially the map theme when you're in the other world). I feel bad that they all went back to their own separate time/dimensions in the end
the only video game ending that have ever made me sad and almost cry... there's no other game like it. BEST RPG EVER!

I just ordered this game on Amazon...I thought it would be 100+ dollars but the whole order ended up being $17.70...dang.
I'm excited! I kept thinking about the game until I was just like "Jeez, what's wrong with me? I love video games. They have awesome stories! I love stories so just buy it you dummy!" xD So I have. I was also super curious after seeing these clips. I was born at a time where I wouldn't have heard of this game but I'm glad that I heard about it at all. ^_^

@Serasia Lucky you. I wonder how many classics have I missed out on just by being born late? At least I was born early enough to really start getting into games at a time when games were going through their Golden Age. I would never trade my memories of games like FF7-10, Chrono Cross, and Shenmue for anything. You're very lucky to have a chance to play this game. Oh yeah. I'm enjoying it a lot already. I'm stuck on a boss but I'm figuring out a strategy and don't want to give up on the game. It's the boss in Isle of the Damned.
I like this game just as much as today's games. Maybe more. The story and music sold me, but the graphics are good too. I can tell they're from an older era, but they're great.

A lot less straightforward as Chrono Trigger. Chrono Trigger made sense, this game was more of a mindtwister xD That little visit to Chronopolis was an introduction to Quantum physics for crying out loud.

this game is great. good story, characters, gameplay and graphics for its time. i found those to be better than most games now adays, now games are only online and lack story, characters and even good gameplay.

I remember my reaction the first time I watched this. I was like, "who is that woman and why is she walking around in a modern, real-world setting?"
I figured it had something to do with time, that Schala was constantly being reborn up to this very day. But now I think it has more to do with the overall theme of time and parallel worlds. What better way to end the game than by juxtaposing the real & game worlds, letting Schala "cross" into ours?
Brilliant stuff. Hats off, Square.

my only real problem w/ CC being a sequel to CT was that the CT gang defeated Lavos but was killed off by that super fail Lynx.. =/
Schala becoming the true-main character was surprising, though.

Hey guys! The Remastered Xenogears CD just came out! It's a bunch of Xenogears music (which we all know was also MItsuda's work), but it's orchestrated! It's called Myth: Xenogears Orchestrated, or something like that. Perhaps if enough people buy, an orchestrated Chrono album will be on its way in a year or two? Rumor has it he's working on one...

Oh, trust me, there are plenty of people who sadly dislike this game. Unfortunately, it's mostly butthurt Chrono Trigger fans who didn't like that it wasn't a direct sequel, and therefore decided it was an awful game.

Yes, but not in the traditional sense of the word, in that it barely had more than a few references to the main characters or the plot of the previous game. What I'm saying is that what a bunch of people wanted and expected was "Chrono Trigger 2", and they didn't get that, so they RAAAAGED.

This was the greatest RPG i have played so far.. and the ending was the best one you can ever see in a video game, those 18 who dislike this video were too blinded by this awesome OST that they misclicked dislike button :)

@255nobu it is difficult to pick them out; I'm starting to head in the direction myself. At this rate pretty soon ALL Squaresoft RPGs of the 90's are gonna be my favorite.
man, and to think how much we took these games for granted when they were new. Its true what they say; youth is indeed wasted on the young, and things of true value you only apreciate when you mature. Imature people can't appreciate what has real value, hence why we didn't apreciate these games when we were teens or kids

This ending makes tears well up in my eyes every time I come to listen to the song. Damn you, Squaresoft, for making such a wonderful game that caused me great pain to complete; damn you, Radical Dreamers, for composing such a beautiful song that it moves me to tears every time I listen to it; and damn you, modern video gaming, for destroying the exquisite gameplay that I adored as a child.

I used to have a difficult time playing this game as a child. Now it's cake to beat the game O_o....by far the easiest Square's game i have ever played. The soundtrack in this game gets me all emotional sometimes lol, sniff sniff (especially the map theme when you're in the other world). I feel bad that they all went back to their own separate time/dimensions in the end
