People seem to forget about Stefan Bellof, another very talented rookie, who was in third in a car inferior to a Toleman. People often say Senna would have won if he had another lap, but Bellof might just have got Senna! Don't get me wrong, they are both great drivers. Sometimes Senna overshadows a lot of other great drivers of the time.

First time I see the race. There were no reason to stop it only because the race leader, Prost, was having problems. The irony is they had left the race continue and Prost finish even in second with full points, he would have won the championship that year.

@NOXXism You're right! "Had the race been allowed to continue until 75% of the laps, full points would have been awarded and Prost could have had 6 points from a 2nd place instead of 4.5 points from the win. Prost would eventually go on to lose the championship to Niki Lauda by half a point".

Ahh there is justice in the world. Having said that Prost had said in an interview he fully intended to let Ayrton passed and to think of the Championship and not risk keeping him behind and crashing!! :-)

@DAH210774 yeah but he was waving like crazy to stop the race. Jacky Ickx at the time worked for porsche and prost drove a porsche powered car and ickx didn't talk to the stewards before making a decision to stop the race and he was suspended.
