The colonists broke free because the King chose not to follow the nation's setup. The ideas for the constitution were taken from Britain's Magna Carta and from the ideas of John Locke. As moving as this presentation is, it is very ironic that every one of these actors are died in the wool liberals who worship a president who spits on the Constitution every day. Kevin Spacey recently went to Venezuela to sit at the feet of dictator Hugo Chavez, and here he is reading The Declaration of Independence? What a farce. I would go as far as to say that with perhaps with the exception of Mel Gibson, none of these people ever think of the document they read.

I'm not ashamed to say that I support Obama. He's our president and he walked into a big mess and he needs our help and support. The mention of changing the government does not mean making any change to the constitution. It means that if our representatives don't do the job right, it is our duty as citizens to protect the Oath of the constitution. Every military troop, police, rescue worker, and civilian have a right, and a duty to do this.

I have known many good and true people of the Democrat, Republican, and Independent parties, and I believe each of these would say that you must hear these words & have reverence, that you should examine ones own current political state and question. I have yet to see any evidence that Obama is opposed to the Constitution. Bush, on the other hand, shat all over the Constitution with the Patriot Act and the Homeland Security Bill. If anyone is opposed to the Constitution, Bush is. During his time in office he was in fact quoted as saying, "If this were a dictatorship, it would be a heck of a lot easier."

I get what you're saying. But actually, the founding fathers got most of their ideas for the constitution from Great Britain. The colonists broke free because the King chose not to follow the nation's setup. The ideas for the constitution were taken from Britain's Magna Carta and from the ideas of John Locke. It wasn't the nation itself they disliked, it was the king.
