man, i can't get over the awkward look of this pedal. why put the knob all the way up there? It even "hangs over" the edge. Doesn't really look all that professional :/
Sorry man but retire that amp SOHO it sounds like brittle garbage! I enjoy your videos except for the annoying begining music and that SOHO lack of decent tone!
@william1theguitarwah I agree the Soho sounds great to my ears. I know thats subjective but the DRRI in my opinion was a downgrade (still good though).
@6stringjunkie Well you're a complete douche. I absolutely love the tone of that amp. Some of the best I've heard, actually. And the beginning music is nice.
I love the opening riff, is that a Rush song, please can someone put me out of my misery and remind me what song it is, I know it is very early Rush?? Sounds fucking awesome. I've got the Lovepedal purple plexi 800 and that is even more awesome but suspect also more expensive. Great review, keep up the good work, thanks
I own one of these now after this review sparked my initial interest.......THANK YOU!!!!! There has never been a more perfect pedal for me, this is what I've been searching for about 2 years now. Perfect tubey tone for classic rock tones ranging from Allman Bro to The Stones Mick Taylor to Zeppelin tones. and its quite too
since they are boutique their target market also consists of collectors on top of the "tone god" class of guitarists. The burst finish just makes it a "special-" or "limited-edition" pedal so its more desirable to collectors....
Probably not, really. Overdrive pedals are really meant to work with a tube amp, IMO. See, tube amps have a gradual, soft clipping system. For solid state, it's clean up until a point, then it has hard clipping. If you want tube warmth, check out an Electro-Harmonix Hot Tubes or English Muff'n. Or just buy a tube amp....
Problem with pedals that have one knob...is you have no control over volume!

The SOHO was quite a dirty amp but a fine piece of gear. We've used a Fender DRRI on all the videos over the passed year or so.
ProGuitarShopDemos 2 years ago 5
u idiot the soho is like amazing, they downgraded to a fender to make it fair

@6stringjunkie obviously tone being subjective will not make sense in that brain of yours.

@6stringjunkie That's your opinion of course. The SOHO I've tried sounded great...

no it's not the same the burst has a different potetiometer '(+value) so this means that the tone on the burst it's cleaner than this one.
gugaporta26 2 years ago
Is this pedal the same as the COT 50 Burst?
Paisley29 3 years ago
why would they made 1 pedal twice??..

In short, no. The Burst is more subtle throughout the gain range and has a smoother tone.

oh cool. i didn't even know that lol! thanks for the correction.

Hao rust driver! Much better at Marshall Plexi tones!

Damn, some serious crunch while still cutting through. None of my pedals have that tone, it'd quite signature sound.
