Tonewise, I can hear a brian may (ish) thing comin thru. Or maybe I can hear Ian comin thru on a queen tune . Either way it sounds good. And yes ... I too think these guys are quite good as well as underrated
Maybe it's just me but their sound is very similar to 10cc who, I believe were contemporaries in the early 70's. David Paton and Graham Gouldman of 10cc had very similar styles and I believe they both used Rickenbackers.
best song of all time - david paton is officially the best singer/bass player in the history of the world! ive got their cd... AMASING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pilot is still a great band! Have you heard their new CD entitled Blue Yonder? What about David Paton's new solo CD? Multi-instrumentalist and vocalist David Paton is easily the best bass player in rock and roll. Have you heard David Paton's 2006 album with Beagle Hat entitled Magical Hat? It's his overseas project.
I'm a fan of Pilot and have never heard this before. What a shame it ends too soon. Can it be uploaded again if the end is there on original please ? We need january too on the Tube if anyone has it.
Underrated band!!!

If you're a Gibson guitar fan, check out this guitar. It belonged to Ian Bairnson many moons ago:

Talkinheid22 3 years ago 2
David and Stuart still tour and record as Pilot. Ian is a very in demand session guitarist. Billy passed away about a decade or more ago.
vivicola 3 years ago
And when will they to that?
capoeira26 3 years ago
@vivicola Also Stuart played for a time with 10cc, replacing Kevin Godley on drums.
redhairkid 1 year ago
Three of them became part of The Alan Parsons Project. I think the other went on to 10CC. They weren't wasted!

Great yes, guitar hero, sure, but I haven't forgotten him. He's right here on my computer in front of my eyes, as I type this, on video!
He does play amazing stuff on this track.

If you check out some of Beverley Craven's early stuff, such as 'My little Sister' you'll find that Ian provides some awesome guitar solos :-)
In fact, I've got a whole concert on video, somewhere...

Stuart Tosh played on the 'Morin Heights' album which this song was taken from then left the band shortly after ( he joined 10cc )
Not 100 % sure who the drummer is (possibly Henry Spinetti) on this clip, but it's from the Arrows tv series.
