Not a snakehead, snakeheads are freshwater fish, and I'm guessing that isn't a big lake. Not a 'cuda, neither with that dorsal (teeth are wrong too). I'm calling it a snake mackerel as it appears to have a 2-lobed tail, unlike the cutlassfish family. Also, that dorsal is too big.

It's a beast of a snake mackerel though- 3 feet is as big as they get.

This is a species of "cutlassfish" (I'm thinking scabbard fish if anyone can help me out on that) I can't really see the color or the caudal fin so it's hard for me to identify. It would also depends where exactly you were at. Quite normal actually...you'll find these fairly deep but not the bottom by any means. this one might have been sick and swam to the top...deeper water fish will do this. Hope this helps.
