How to start a media production company 1

What happened to your company. did you start it?

@rdsweet I did, but then my director & writer fell into a funk and I got busy with my engineering education. It is still in my sights to be producing some media, but likely just for my own musical endeavors. Turns out, I don't make a very good vlogger lol But I've changed a lot; maybe one day

I started this mess @ 38 & it's tuf as hell, but I couldn't do anything else. Unless of course it included sitting on the dock of the bay watching the tide roll away. but I digress. If u have a moment read John Bradshaw's "Healing the Shame that Binds" it will change your life & mayb more.

also Distribution is key. Without it you may end up sitting on a film/asset you wont be able to gain any money from.

Decent advice, however you did not talk about the impotance of putting together a business plan. I find that most people start film/media companies without any clear plan on how they are going to make money and market themselves. The media and advertising business are challenging enough, get a biz plan together and increase your chances for success.

Im in the same boat as you my friend, im from the UK going to uni in sept to do media production, its alot of filming, editing, broadcasting etc, it seems cool, i hope to start my own production company aswell. Good luck though, stay in touch mate.
