  • some sweet info here

  • some really good stuff here

  • i enjoyed this vid

  • no top comments! this is my chance!

  • so does this mean california is gonna be the next hawaii?

  • @TheftBoardsInc Yes. They say that the part of California west of the San Andreas fault will separate from the US and become an island somewhere by Alaska. This won't happen for millions of years though. It is only moving a few centimeters per year. In a few million, LA will be by San Francisco, then eventually move up to Alaska.

  • so what happens when you drive into the fault? or live there? I've seen it a few times when driving on the freeway. :0

  • a portion of it runs through my back yard in Indio

  • Thats GTA SAN ANDREAS Fault

  • I hear the Dems in Congress want to change the name to the George W. Bush fault.

  • i saw dis at skool today and all i cud tink bout was the game

  • you jealous cuz i live on it?

  • the san andreas fault was built in the 1930s at a cost of 2 billion $

  • @StormsFishingNMore IT WASNT BUILT IT WAS MADE BY THE FURY OF OUR EARTH

  • were north palm springs ca is ,would be like right on it ,there is a palce were the ground dont shake in earthquakes is call white water, there's miles of water underground and that's a big problem is getting hotter..

  • if san andreas trembles, you just move to liberty city :)

  • My little sis was like "Where's the fucking game!?! These ain't better graphics!" :/

  • ur scared i live in st.louis where that dangerous new madrid fault is also - it quakes - im gone

  • @Cheetah6558

Me too-and ours is worse. Did you feel the one in '08? Pretty minor, but a scary reminder!

  • @hstg98 yea i was afraid

  • fuck, im scared.

I live like 5 miles from that fault <:(

  • @picturemeskating honestly i suggest you find a way out soon ...they claim soon those faults will quake ...it is scary but california has been targeted for a earthquake in years based on information today it may happen any day at any tim

  • @blustarent I dont have much of a choice, Im only 15. I can't just move. Im starring death in the fucking eyes!

  • @picturemeskating I'm so sorry. Hope everything will be fine. Strike slip faults are really scary.

  • @blustarent

Hey, the San Andreas fault is due to rupture going by what the historic records of quakes state, some say its overdue. However, the longer the time between quakes means the rocks have longer to build up stress so when it does slip, it will cause a larger EQ.

  • @picturemeskating Where? San Francisco? :o

  • eiiinnngg me too i live in california P:

  • of course you fools youll all die :D

  • i live in san diego :( am i in danger ? :(

  • @dianahernandezsssffx I live in Glendale right about L.A.. we live in a small neighborhood that doesn't has tall buildings, so i guess we'll be fine :))

  • it that thing has an earthquake half of California will collapse into the ocean

  • i cant wait till the day those american pricks all die because they deserve it because theve tortured countless other races and are evil

  • @MrInception12 Your comments are juvenile. Its never the peoples fault its the few rich bastards in govt. The banks are to blame for most of the wars, not the people.

  • @MrInception12 Your comments are juvenile. Its never the peoples fault, its the few rich bastards in govt. The banks are to blame for most of the wars, not the people. The rich want to divide us, but we are not going to let that happen. We are legion and we are waking up to their tyranny. So stand with the people of the world, and stop the real racism poor vs rich.

  • @KymaticaHealth insightful comment.

  • @MrInception12 Yes cause every single one of us hates every single person. Quit generalizing. That's why there is so much hatred in the world, because people judge a huge group of people off of one or few people.

  • @MrInception12 thats mean. Im Mexican American and i live in LA. Please. There were people who did very bad things. BUT not everyone is like that. :)

  • I wouldnt mind this! I live in Phoenix so If LA falls we get an ocean haha

  • @MrUtahutes17 and u get a tsunami haha

  • That earthquake is gonna put me in the poorhouse again

  • the land is attached??? So what we are just lilly pads floating around the planet?! dummy

  • only watched it because it said San andreas

  • Just search "San Andreas" and this is the only non-gta video your going to find.

Is it still a smart idea to move from Croatia to San Francisso?

  • @wannawatchu66 the San Andreas is not in the foothills of the sierra or in the sierra mountain range. The San Andreas runs on the westside mountain range of california, not the east.

  • @yosemitebobby I believe s/he's talking about the town of San Andreas, east of Stockton on Highway 49... in the Sierra Nevada foothills.

  • @OeditpusRex You're correct.

  • @yosemitebobby I'm talking about the town itself, not the fault.

  • @yosemitebobby your an idiot

  • omg was that magma at 2:25?!

  • tanks

  • why does evryone keeping talkign abotu ceral lol im from canada so i must be lost XD

  • @figure261 It's just a rehash of the old joke about California being like cereal in that it's the land of fruits, nuts, and flakes.

  • @wannawatchu66 hey! I live in California...yet this is pretty damn funny haha, I'm stealing this!!!

  • San Andreas, a large fault but but better known for its famout city litered with gang violence, corruption, hookers, and a guy named Cj who tends to blow alot of sht up in the city.

  • @shadowace421 Actually, the real San Andreas in California's Sierra Nevada foothills is nothing like that. I'm guessing you're talking about the video game.

  • @shadowace421

    lmao

  • @shadowace421 i thing u have described the game gta:san andreas

  • @shadowace421 Its all coming down real soon

  • @GoldenRing1989 yum cereal!

  • im cereal. im super cereal

  • @GoldenRing1989 hick, redneck, hillbilly

  • Fault line is an abundant green energy source. Watch video "Energy from Continental Drift" / energy from fault lines.

  • @GoldenRing1989

Ha! You must be a Hick :)

  • @GoldenRing1989

Ha! You must be a Hick :)

  • SAN ANDREAS IS GONE !!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CJS DEAD NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • you can have an earthquake without a fault dumbass...its called a volcanic earthquake, damn im one quarter of his age and i know that! xD

  • To takito6909,you should get out of there so you won't get killed!

  • i live right under the san andreas fault in san bernardino....

and when we have the big earthquake here at san bernardino ima be sitting down in the hills chilling with my friends smoking a fat ass blunt with a mango arizona while listening to some bob marley just enjoying the view....

    =]

  • @takito6909 no mames perro.. i thought we live on TOP of the fault not under.. pinche morro pendejo making sbc look bad..

  • @takito6909

I used to live in the San Jose, California area. That was pretty much my attitude too, but without the blunt--chillin' with friends, mango Arizona, and Big Mountain. ;-)

I moved out of state about one month before the quake that caused the bridge collapse shown in this vid, but there were plenty of fore-shocks before the big one. I was like, "Dang, I missed it."

  • @takito6909 same here but i live in azusa...i dont like mango arizona ima be sipping some arnold palmer half n half arizona...

  • 2:37 CJ destroyed that bulding! xD

  • That seismologist is a trip! LOL

  • Why did the narrator say "Awsome" power? she could've said "Powerful" force

  • yeah superman flew down in there

  • i dont live far from the san andreas fault i live in san pedro california

  • 1:43 he opens it like there's a spider inside or something

  • what??? Sorry this video got it wrong the San Andreas fault line is actually caused by a conservative plate margin where basically nothing really happens and the two plates mate and pass by each other

  • is this y they called GTA after?

  • Should have included a shot of the San Andreas Lakes south of San Francisco. Right on the fault and very obvious.

  • sorry Lord for the way they take your name in vain.

  • Well. Good luck in 2012 if you're below the San Andreas fault line.

  • @ADMediaEmpire Good Luck to all of mankind of Palin gets elected prez in 2012

  • @ADMediaEmpire thanks /=

  • in mexico will be another earthquake but more stronger than the earthquake in the 85 :S

  • The San Andreas Fault has already taught me so much. I encountered it for the very first time in November 2009. It is a fine example of how seismology and plate tectonics helped me respect the way I was born and to be myself and be one with the Earth and yet, I do respect the consequences of the sudden releases of energy from the Earth's crust.

  • this is why we are having earthquake right now in south Cali and Mexico that or fucking military is doing bomb testing secretly

  • im so scared :(

  • what is this guys name??

  • Thats crazy on how that is from 0:58-1:05

  • i bet thgis guy dosent even live in california!!

  • 0:35 Carl Johnson smoking crack on a mountain!!!

  • oh yeah and the closest thing we can compare to what a 13.0 magnitude would have been like was the asteriod that struck the earth 65 million years ago that claimed to have wiped out the dinosaurs.

  • 4e2 rox!!!

  • cool info...lol..but the guy doesn't have a good concept of 5 millimetres...lol...his example is more like an inch or so!...crazy scientists....

  • thats creepy..lol

  • that guy standing on it is nuts LOL

  • i love this game, i have it on the ps2

  • @joelswenson92 Your an idiot! San Andreas Fault!!!!! Not Grand theft Auto!!!

  • @FlightSimGuy9782 haha that guy's comment made me laugh !!

  • hahah what a dumbass.lol

  • lmao....you got confused due..lmao

  • I live miles away from the San Andreas fault. Earthquakes happen frequently.

  • wow...cool how exciting...

  • Oh God. If the SAF cracks.....BYE all of California and Oregon

  • lol..big misconception among people...what hollywood makes you think! lol...it cant crack..dont worry..^^

im millions of years from now, half of california will be where alaska stands today :)

  • i wonder if theres a liberty city fault lol jk :)

  • hahahaha, probably a vice city or IV fault :D

  • @millieguitarcrasher the town in gta 4 is liberty city so you maybe meaned liberty city fault and pr3dator5000: funny joke!! he maybe plant lots of bombs in there (funny joke)!!!

  • @millieguitarcrasher really your talking about fucking gta do you even fucking know this shit dumbass

  • @230Bigpapi hahahaa, how sad.

  • I cant understand why they just keep building on land that is prone to earthquakes its insane

  • I wonder what the possibility of a 10.5 or even a 10.0 earthquake would look like if it hit CA just wonder if it would have effects to the whole world would Yellowstone erupt what do people think would happen and do u think its possible of what could happen

  • Well, there was a 8. something in Alaska back in the early 1900's. If SAF had something of that magnitude, there would be no more structures. It would be felt all the way to the midwest, the Hawaii would be fucked by a tsunami

  • @Chammy92243 well ALASKA got a 9.6 in the early 1900's

  • I stand corrected. Yikes!

  • Actually, it was a 9.2...and it was in 1964

  • @iluvincitingviolence never mind that was in South America...sorry

  • im a geology major and to answer your question, a 10.5 or greater is impossible...and if there is a big one it would probably be felt in adjacent states but not affect the whole world...maybe it will change the earth's axis a bit like the chile earthquake this past weekend and yellowstone wouldnt erupt..lol

  • @Chicagoman36 a 10.0M to10.5M would be like 1 teratons of TNT (1trillion tons of TNT or 2,000,000,000,000,000,000 lbs) at the same time equivalent to dropping over 300,000 nagasaki atomic bombs also called the "Fat Man" each one has a yield of about 1 million sticks of dynamite. its not the worst a 13.0 is the highest of the scale which is 100,000,000x stronger or a 10.0M a hundred times over, never recorded but an example would be the asteroid that hit the earth 65M years ago.

  • As Many Earth Quakes As We Have Had In The World Big Ones Already Not That Great But A 7.0 In Haiti earthquake i think it was a Chile earthquake 8.8 alot so far this yr alone less than a month i see a big one hitting California soon

  • @Chicagoman36 just looking at past seismic activity or a lack there of, it was given that there is a 99% chance in the next 30 years that southern california will have a great earthquake which would be a 7.0 to a 7.9. it might not sound like much of a prediction at all but it could happen tonight. the LA areas last two major quakes were in 92' and 99' (a bad decade for them) and not one since 52'. IMO i would think that it would be too soon but the plates go when they want. AND...

  • @Chicagoman36 ...some binding have been observed in the fault so i would rather have major quake now then wait and have the stress explode in to a great or epic quake.

  • really? a 13.0 is the biggest e.q ever recorded? jeez. the biggest ive been in was that 5.5 in chino hills and i thought that was big. we just had one this morning at 4 am, a magnitude 4.4. And that even scared me! but a 13.0?! i think the intensity is so strong it would break my legs!

  • @TheBassguy1 yupppp i kno lmao it was creepy today

  • lol. it actually might, i wouldn't put it past it, that is a lot of power. but what i meant was a 13.0 (as far as i have read around the interwebs) has never been experienced by man. in fact a 10.0M quake has never been recorded (yet).

  • Ohhh. i kno tht the Great Alaskan Quake of 1964 was one of the biggest with a magnitude 9.2. but idk wat the BIGGEST is...

  • Chile

    1960 May 22, 7:11PM

    Magnitude 9.5

    biggest recorded in history.

  • Woah. hey whats weird is tht me, my dad, and both of my brothers see the time 11:11 on the clock twice a day everyday. and we dont plan it either. we just LOOK and its there. i was in 4th pd at school and my friend pulled out his ipod and said Dude thts cool, look at the time." i just flipped out. the guy on the radio said it too "Aaannd it is now 11:11...." its like the apocolyps is going to happen at tht time or something! i say this cuz tht quake u said was at 7:11.

  • @TheBassguy1 Hey WTF I HAVE THE SAME SHIT!!!!! BUT MINE IS 7:11 OR 9:11 ITS MOSTLY 7:11 AND MY BIRTHDAY IS ON JULY 11.?

  • @alpthegreat1 Yea i see that all the time too! anything ending in 11! usually its 11:11 but 9:11 and 7:11 happen alot too! my dad always says "The apocolyps is going to happen on 11/11/11 at 11:11 am and well be watching it on channel 11 (Fox) so ya kinda weird huh! my dads friend has the same problem but his is 4s. that quake we had was a 4.4 at 4:04 am! its just plain ol' creepy!!!!

  • @TheBassguy1 thats really scary. I used to wake up at around 3:01am almost every night(morning) but nothing ever happened...

  • The Alpine Fault in New Zealand is another place where you can stand on two tectonic plates.

  • The reason for the earthquake is from all those god damn missles that CJ launches!!!

  • lol this aint gta san andreas

  • @Pr3dat0r5000 or its because of the tectonic plates?

  • @Pr3dat0r5000 hahahaha u got gta sa too i never saw the fsult line in the game!

  • holy shit theres a plce really called san andreas?

  • Lake San Andreas. It's a reservoir in San Francisco.

  • "The fact that the tremors haven't gone down means the time to the next earthquake may come sooner

  • ive seen this plate saw it move amd all of a sudden an earthquake happened but thank god it wasnt that bigg

  • the subduction zone in south west british columbia is the next major earthquake disaster to strike. it will create a massive tsunami which will crash onto the shores of washington state. all the bridges connecting vancouver to the east of the province are very old most are concrete construction and will crumble. there are millions of people that are going to be trapped without help in the citys around vancouver if those bridges go. richmond is built on river sand.. it will liquify, more damage
