Gday mate im part of the NSUC and i would like to use your videos in my HSC major work for IPT which is a Promotional tool for the club. Would it be ok if i was to use a few of you videos? You would be given full credit and this would not be used for profit or anything purely educational :) thanks.
Yeah, we use burley regularly. We used to come to Forster all the time as we loved spearing the Pinnacle but when that became a sanctuary we usually drive on to SWR. But sometimes club members rock hop Sealies.
The club is in Sydney, Australia. The footage and pictures were taken mostly from the NSW coast, with some from our trips to the outer reefs of the Great Barrier Reef off the Queensland coast.
The large hump headed parrot fish is not the giant maori wrasse that is protected in many places. That fish is numourous and not protected. Glad you are enjoying the clips.
Yo Im from the uk and ive been spear fihing for quite a while now but its pretty slim pickins wherever i go getting no more than one or two sea bass a time and they aint that big, they do taste quite nice tho. Ive also done a bit of fishin in Crete in greece. That was far better than here but nowhere near as good as your vid Matt
"Nothing More Important" by Captain Kickarse and the Awesomes. (A Sydney, Australia band) You could find them on myspace. They have a cd out. If you contact them mention where heard the track as they allowed me to use their music for our video. Cheers.
The wahoo/dogtooth tuna/sailfish footage was taken in the Coral Sea about 500km off the Queensland coast, Australia, on the outer reefs of the Barrier Reef. The rest was taken up and down the coast of NSW Australia. We are a Sydney based club and anyone looking for fun and big fish are welcome to join. :D
Awesome video, makes me want to start spearfishing! You guys probably see some pretty big sharks while spearing those big fish. Do you have a support boat where you put the fish in as fast as possible?
We do see some good sharks from time to time, especially when we are chasing wahoo or tuna in the Coral Sea. We always have a support boat there but other places we often don't. It can get a bit freaky but we haven't lost any legs lately. ;)
Cool! Thanks for the info, i think the spearfishing community isn´t too big here in Mexico, what a is a good introductory site you can reccommend to start learning about the sport, technique, equipment, etc?
Look for the Extreme Spearfishing website. (I can't post a URL on the comments here) It is a good site. You can get on the forum and ask questions there. Feel free to message me here or on that forum. Cheer.
