I have to say I don't know a lot about them personally, but they don't seem like the sort of people that would support fucking terrorism and murder. And as for murder... the life of an Irishman to their administrators was worth less than that of their horse for many years. Many rapes, murders, and other atrocities were committed by the British, even in the last century simply because of suspicion. Though Violence is a hard thing, 600+ years with no lasting true freedom might make me militant also.

Even some direct references to the IRA cleverly included in songs, and even entire songs seemingly about IRA skirmishes that occurred during the first half of the last century. This could simply be cultural remembrance though.. =S.

All it does is spread the the idea that Irishmen are aggressive and ignorant. What's even worse is that half the time its American people generations removed from Ireland doing it. I've noted a lot of IRA references in Flogging Molly music but not any overtly supportive ones, but I do have a habit of just letting music wash over me and not studying the lyrics.

How these new kids into celtic punk overlook the Pogues is a travesty. My personal favorite celtic punk is DKM (mostly because of their Oi!/skinhead roots) but the Pogues, without a doubt, the most important band in Celtic punk. Young Dubliners are really good, but a little on the alt/college rock side...not that its bad, I'm just saying (oh and btw that was directed towards vitisku2000)
