Wow. The muted colors and shapes that barely stand give a sense of the despair we all felt upon seeing the devestation after Katrina. The music is a perfect complement to the paintings. Great presentation.

Only photographsbegin to truly capture the reality of new orleans after the flood. painting is more intuitive, suggestive and, for lack of a better word, poetic. I did not set out to record "reality", but to bring the viewer into a state of being...a mood, like when you awaken from a terrible dream that lingers all day. i wanted the viewer to feel the sadness.
