@highway234 hes a time traveler, there is no other way....no one can learn to play like that in the span of 4 years, otherwise i have to burn my guitar.
@marcasher24274 , Hi, i spoke to the admiral a couple of years ago and he told me that clive was a virtual recluse since the car accident in 83, is he ok.
The first song I heard by this family tree was "gone is the sad man" by the Timebox. I've been hooked on them ever since. Too bad more folks in the U.S. didn't know about these guys.....they were brilliant from the beginning. Thank you for posting this!
Wonderful. Thank you so much for posting this. I'm 16 again! I can imagine gentlemen of a certain age sitting at their computers listening to this, heads nodding, with a huge smile on their faces.
The good thing with youtube is that just ignore ordinary TV and Radio with it's brainwashed tom hit-list "music" and tune in some classic real old tunes instead, and just sit back and relax!
I think this really shows how Peter "Ollie" Halsall played when he was pissed off, drunk; high - or whatever. This is punk-rock played by crazy people within the "prog" format they probably just wanted to leave out forever... Amazing. Still kicking things. Destroy stuff. Whatever
Found out about this band when I was really digging for great guitar players and I was so amazed how good Hassal was. I see a post that stated before there was van halen there was hassal! Yes, and he played so spontaneous. I don't think any of the guitar greats of the 80's can play with that kind of raw gusto!
Bear with me on this because YT won't allow the actual URL: Go to olliehalsall [all one word] followed by the usual UK suffix, then forward slash, rollemsmokem, dot and htm [you need the final htm]
Before Vai Satriani, van Halen and others surfaced, Ollie Halsall had already done it all. Most underrated guitarist of all time. His playingon this track is phenomenal.
Hard to find much Ollie out there. If anyone can find some video of him on Neil Innes How Sweet to be an Idiot please post it. Some of the best guitar I ever heard on Immortal Invisible.
Incredible guitar!
