  • best movie ever

  • Peter O'toole was a nazi!

  • TURKSİH İSRAEL BROTHERS

  • fuck arap NE MUTLU TÜRK ÜM DİYENE VİVA TURCO

  • stupid arabs..caliphate betrayers !!

  • @yapalli83 Only some. You know, many of the soldiers at Gallipoli who fought and died for the Ottoman Caliph were Arabs. Only the Saudis were the betrayers.

  • Epic desert film sequence.

  • I wonder a lot, what Lawrence would think of Arabia as it is today.

  • I want to go back to Arabia :(

  • Also the Turks were supposted to be the bad guys remember?

  • GOD ARABS ARE LIKE SO HOT! OUCH I THINK THE SUN JUST BURNT ME, NO WAIT THAT WAS THE SAND!

  • good all days

  • It makes me sick to see the Arab Terrorists Bomb the Ottoman Railways & slaughter thousands of White Turks!

Remember the Turks were the allies of the Germans & must be respected!

  • @whitechristian1066 I know, we were armed Allies..

Arabs are the biggest betrayers of the world.

  • When does Hollywood Rambo come on and kill all the Arabs? Or Nazis... Agenda? You tell me.

  • Film mitico..!!

  • اهم شييييييي لاقال اي ام بددو

  • Esta musica foi feita nos momentos em que seu compositor estava com Deus ao seu lado. É tão linda, profundamente mistica que palavras não conseguem descreve-las. (Brasil)

  • They just don't make screens big enough for this.

  • @violacrb Yeah, that 70 mm film is gorgeous.

  • @mustafahotaki Leadership.

  • It wasn't the best movie ever, but it was very good. And the reason why that'd happen is because today's audiences are, at times, brain dead teenagers looking for sex, sex, sex. That's why it's so hard to find a good horror film (or rather, any) these days. Of course, with how much Paranormal Activity sucked, they could not have gone wrong with a nude scene.

  • can someone direct me to the 'no prisoners' scene, can't seem to find a clip of it

  • home... the Rub al Khali...

  • @mustafahotaki The Ottomans were Muslims and the Arabs used to have an empire too. The movie even implies that it was both the British and the Arabs who caused the inevitable division in the land that persists to this day.

  • Thank-you..in my top ten but I have owned it since I was a young model..

    Thanks T!

    Gemma J.

    Hugs

  • brilliant

  • Good god I love this film..the music, the background, the acting!! I could care less about the politics...this is a MOVIE!! not real life!! Enjoy the cinematography!! Relax...

and get into the mood that the film creates!!!

  • Masterpiece

  • The U. S. had nothing to do with all of this. We support democracy.

  • @fluffydanny hhhhahahahah really? what a joke we support our money and if the money lies in democracy thats what we do but if it lies with dictaorships regardless how murderous they are.. we support that too.. so plzz....

  • @less01 What a waste,right?

  • @fluffydanny that it is..

  • @less01 Right on,Blood.

  • Turks are a nation so brave and generous, so there is a! Kışkırtmasıdır.622 against each other for years in a nation where the British had ruled over the Ottoman children of the weaker nations of three continents, we can not use, such as the British have guarded them, and we did not have flown at that time

  • the use of mustard gas could be legal till that moment..it can't be right but you have to know that the war in Etiopia was fought in 1935 and World War I was finished since only 17 years...mustard gas was used a lots from germans an there wasn't still a law that prohibited the use of these gas..It was the only epic fail from Italy..but brits had caused a lots of deaths from the peoples who lived in India and Pakistan. They left India end provocated a civil war without doing anything

  • ENGLISH CIVILIZATION= ENGLISH EXPLOITATION

  • @Goffrey88 Without England Africa would still be filled with a people stabbing each other with spears while wearing leaves you dumbshit. Africa could never become like Europe

  • @TehLeek yeah, now they've got our guns to kill each other with instead, vast improvement

  • @upupaepops1988 And they have some vestige of hope towards abandoning savage culture and joining a real civilization.

  • @TehLeek For most of human history, Europe was the backwater and Africa an agrarian homeland to millions of civilized farmers. History is funny like that.

  • @Taospark HA. They remained stagnant for almost all of their existence while Europeans only had one Dark Age. Okay, you go ahead and think that Africa was some kind of paradise in comparison to Europe, when for the most part, the only thing that has changed as of now is that they're using guns instead of poison dart arrows.

  • I hate this movie

  • @0XxNawafxX0 WHY!!???

  • Comment removed

  • Guyz no profane language please just enjoy thisscene it has good music :)

  • is it true that Lawrence of Arabia was an english terrorist?

  • @Goffrey88 Nope.

  • @Goffrey88 watch the movie and judge for yourself.

  • @Goffrey88 We Brits, we don't bring terror to the people, we civilize them.

  • @Houseofthe7gayboys you brits.you were only able to civilize people and exploit the materials from the subsoil of the occupied territory..a hand of the british is present everywhere and thanks for you that a lot of countries are forced into poverty.Britain and USA expoited the petroil in the arabian countries. After World War I, english promised that they would have created an indipendent Arab State, but after The turkish empire, England betrayed his first mission and it ocuppied the countries

  • @Goffrey88 So you're Italian? Might I mention Ethiopia? No? Okay.

  • @TubsMcLard we wanted to create a great state in Ethiopia like the ancient roman empire..don't forget that we distributed culture in every single country we occupied 2000 years ago. In Origins, Italy gave culture taken by greeks for example to the barbarian's country.England exploited the primary resources with a bourgeois mentality, interessed only from the profit of the industrial revolution

  • @Goffrey88 I don't know so much about that. I just finished a book entitled, "The Rape of Ethiopia" and I don't believe there is a high amount of culture being spread in it, just mass murders and countless uses of mustard gas on civilians women and children. What a fine culture you must have to spread doing that!

  • just watched the film on my HDTV... this scene struck me with mouth-agape awe

  • Gay, straight, bi, masochist, dominatrix, militarist, fascist, socialist, capitalist, blah blah

    Who gives a flying shit?

Lawrence was a man with awesome accomplishments and journeys. This, therefore, makes him awesome.

  • The accusation of homosexuality was never proven. It originated not from the field level where British Troops and Arabs alike who served with him would have known, but rather from Lawrence's detractors after he died. Lawrence was an outspoken critic of some of the League of Nations policies toward the Middle East after World War I; the Balfour Declaration as it was originally cited was one of them. Lawrence's detractors were brutal and relentless. All that saved him was his war record.

  • whats wrong with being a fag anyway it might be good/!?!???

  • Who gives a rats ass if he was gay or not ... I mean, aren't we beyond this sort of nonsense!! In his day it would have been a big deal but why are we talking about it now?

  • I wonder if anyone could confirm or dispell rumors of Lawrence being a homosexual an also his alleged Sadomasicistic tendencies ?

  • Comment removed

  • @Walter5734 Honestly, who cares? Lawrence did great and amzing things that most of us will probably never do, so those issues are irrelevant.

  • @Lysandros Mark 8:36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

  • @Walter5734 No one knows for sure that he really was homosexual, and even less that he engaged in homosexual practice, which is the most important. Even if he had masochist tendencies, this doesn't dispel the aura of greatness that surrounds him. We all have our faults, you as well as myself or Lawrence, and it is God who will ultimately judge us and forgive us if He so wishes. Didn't Peter deniy Christ three times, and yet was forgiven, and didn't Paul also first persecute Christ?

  • @Lysandros yata yata yata god this and god that blah blah blah

  • @ferret630 ???

  • @Lysandros no it was just a fictional tale.....

  • @Walter5734 its mentioned on Wikipedia.... it is addressed.... get over it

  • I wonder if there has ever been a study done on the acidity vs alkaline blood of desert peoples and how they are able to thrive without water.

  • The music, the setting, the opening of the vast desert gave inspiration and tribute to many movies that are set in the desert.

  • one of my very favourite epic movies - one which contains the most haunting of orchestral themes - one of the greatest cinematic masterpieces of all time, the epic Lawrence of Arabia, the restored version of course... a true cinema experience...

  • A wonderful story.

  • As a teenager living in Morocco, so much of this reminds me of the foothills of The Atlas Mountains. The sense of absolute freedom and this music are inseparable to me.

  • @oriskany Most of the movie was filmed in Morocco, I think.

  • @oriskany I would love to visit Morocco and see the desert. A freind of mine is from Tunisia, he tells me the desert is beautiful.

  • @xvoy2002 It is incomparable to anything else; you seem destined to the experience. The surprise is what you will learn about yourself. Enjoy.

  • This scene is referred to as a 'jump cut' in film lexicon. Kubrick's in '2001' comes in second.

  • エキゾチックで美しい。感動します。

  • Imagine someone making a movie like this today: "It's about this weird masochistic guys who spends most of the film walking around in the desert. There are no women, no love story, no car chases and an anti-climax. But it's totally going to be the best movie ever" They'd get laughed out of every studio in Hollywood!

  • @Cybele1986 Yes but substance can still be found in this day'n'age films like 'THE PRESTIGE (2006)' "FASTER (2010)" "THE EAGLE(2011) (POOR ACTING THOUGH)" "RETROACTIVE (1997)"

  • @Cybele1986 It wasn't the best movie ever, but it was very good. And the reason why that'd happen is because today's audiences are, at times, brain dead teenagers looking for sex, sex, sex. That's why it's so hard to find a good horror film these days. Of course, with how much Paranormal Activity sucked, they could not have gone wrong with a nude scene.

  • @Cybele1986 Not only that but the anti-climax happens at the very start of the movie. Talk about giving the ending away: it's the beginning.

  • Love this movie.

The book by Lawrence is wonderful too.

  • beautifull movie scene.....!!!

  • man oh man can David lean make a movie or what.

  • @briggs411 Seriously! I just saw the Prince of Persia the other day, and while it was suitably entertaining yet mindless, the entire time I was there I had an urge to re-watch this movie.

  • U can never watch enough times. Feel the sand

  • AAAA. 031119Z MAY 2010 Thank you for posting.......AR.

  • from the time arabs betrated Turks they are swimming in the blood bath. We are never going to save their ass again. They will be always a colonie of europe and give them their lives and petrol. Thats what they wanted...

  • @animatoralper We still dont want you and we dont want Europe, do you understand asshole? Wake up

  • Such a great film.....

  • Uhhh I love Peter Otoole!!

  • peace thru superiour fire power

  • the music in the movie is a killer. i am watching the movie on hd as i type this.

  • I am bedou. Christ, it doesn't get any better than that.

  • bedou (arabic ) = bedouin (english )

such an ideal officer who share his soldiers and fellas the same situation and difficulties

    great movie

  • Music and movie are absolutely my favourites!!!!Thanks dear Alessandro for share!!!!!Kisses Perla.

  • Love the score of this movie.

  • tangible evidence of how much michael bay sucks

  • @jdmcdonnell right on the money!!!!!

  • @jdmcdonnell

    the dick of confusedmatthew?

  • @jdmcdonnell

    Misplaced dickehead, suffer!

  • @jdmcdonnell who the fuck are you man, dont ever talk about michael bay on a david lean video, you insult david leans piss. lol thats how low michael bay is.

  • @jdmcdonnell So you touched the screen when you saw this video? And that you found as tangible?

  • From the moment I watched the movie about 10 years ago, I knew it was my all time favorite movie ever. And it still is number ONE on my list of favorite movies!!

  • one of the best movies I have seen so far..

  • it sounds stupid to say but the colour of o'toole's eyes really add a lot to this film

  • Yeah it makes him look crazy / like a god

  • I have no idea why this movie is so great, but that may be why I love it so much.

  • I feel the same way. When I first saw this movie I did not have much of a reaction. But after several days and weeks later I would remember a random scene that resonated with me and slowly I ended up liking the whole thing altogether.

  • This could be the best scene ever done in a movie. Thanks for sharing.

  • that what i want ! thank you very much for sharing :)

  • The scene where Lawrence blows out the match and it transitions to the rising sun is one of my favorite shots from a film.

  • Forgive me for saying

You want political ans social freedom, not rule by Britain or any other country...

In IRELAND we have a saying

based on a famous British song

"Rule Britannia, Britannia (waives) the rules

Don't get me wrong I Like a lot of British things

but I dont want to be ruled by them

  • what has the 1962 lawrence of arabia have to do with ireland?

its a FILM,its people like you who make watching and commenting on videos political.Enjoy the video not some bullshit about ireland

  • what has the 1962 lawrence of arabia have to do with ireland?

    YOU TELL ME...

I think his mother was Irish (Lawrence)LOL

I was replying to another persons comment

I suggest you take a good look at the movie It has a lot to say about the rule and misrule of people & countries.

If you like I could quote you the script word for word

IT IS in my opinion the greatest movie of all time.. I enjoy this movie TOO much I would say i watch it once every second month...

  • i remember when it first came out,it was a real fantastic film.i distance myself from politics completely,i see it as a waste of precious time.

the plot of the film was great but i took little interest in the meanings behind it.

lawrence of arabia was half english and half anglo/irish (irish but english descent)

so in fairness he was fully english

  • yes he would be seen as english in ireland too... unless he was married into an "old english" norman family. LOL (i wont go there)... I do like all of sir David Leans movies. i cant get enough of them..

I think i am a secret anglophile...love the country the food and the people

Cornish Clotted Cream scones, jam.. YUM

You cant get it here in ireland

.. going off the point again somewhat. sorry

  • cornish scones are nice bud ;) but in another video of lawrence of arabia some kind of islamic extremists have hijacked the comment section writing things like "freedom for palestine" and other assorted shit.

i think if people enjoy the film then i cant see an issue

  • o'toole is irish too

there is a lot of irish things in this movie!! i must look into this further...LOL

By the way the movie is full of politics and "history" (movie history) You cant avoid it....

  • THE MAJI!

  • Hanutingly beautiful, majestic theme with the bass and lower voices.

Especially the leading tone starting at :50.

    Amazing. Wonderful.

  • at last somebody with taste in soundtracks. not these list with xmen two and three pirates of the carribean or transformers in it.

  • Transformers is a standout score. It's also, without a doubt, leagues below Maurice Jarre's work here, but I still find it a good score.

  • Can't people just comment on the music and keep their opinions about world politics to themselves, just enjoy something for once in your lives.

  • @sugarsmum

It is crazy is`nt it? You only have to show a movie or doco and instantly everyone starts to argue how such-and-is a ba#tard for destroying thier a) Country b)Life c)Marriage or d)Matchbox car collection.

Lotta people out there need shrinks....lotta people...

  • @sugarsmum totally agree. I really enjoyed this movie

  • well said

  • music that gives u chills... amazing

  • Magnifique! Qui mieux que Maurice Jarre a su donner une grandeur aux peuple avec son ouie fine pour interpreter à travars nos corde vibrante nos émotion. Mes hommage à cet homme qui a laissé que beauté et grandeur à ce monde si hideux pourtant

  • great music

  • what a great movie...!!!

  • What are you talking about? The land that is modern day Jerusalem was occupied by Egyptians, Caananites, Jews, Romans and Byzantines before Arabs. I hate people that think they know history.

  • which is mean nobody has a right in jerusalem more than other .. no arabs no jews !! no one has the abslute right !!

that's why they should live toghter and stop the bloody stupid war between them !

  • by the way the caananites were tribes who migrated from arabia to the high lands, or the land of canaan, and caananite language is one of the roots of arabic language, egyptians rule on jerusalem was a foriegn rule, so are the romans and byzantines. the jews who ruled for a period of time where not new comers, they were palestinian jews. oh and i know the history of my own country.

  • He really was

  • But it's still a good movie.

  • I love it how you idiots come on a video about "Great Moments of movie music" and debate politics.

  • here here

  • YES THANK YOU

  • I'd suggest that if you were to read more objective histories of Lawrence than what ever comic gave you this lot Lawrence was from one of the classic english educated aristocracy who's education hard wired them to be pro arab and on the fringe of institutional anti-semitism. The Englishman's romance is really with the desert and was born of romanticism rather than any reality of fair apportionment of Palestine. The british wanted shut of the Ottomans to enable it to get control of the Suez.

  • Whats the name of the song that plays in the scene on the soundtrack?

  • Lawrence of Arabia

  • thats not it

  • thats such a powerful piece of cinema history that always manages to send shivers down my spine

  • Wooo, hey lets compare American History X and Amelie as well! ;(

  • What the fuck does the Dark Knight have to do with Lawrence of Arabia? They were made almost 50 years apart from each other. Are you seriously comparing them both?

  • i miss the rape scene :D ahahahahahahahahah

  • once upon a time in the west or lawrence of arabia

  • Alright, which is better:

Citizen Kane or Lawrence Of Arabia

  • Best movie ever made !!!!!!!

  • The Dark Knight was an absolutely amazing movie

Lawrence of Arabia is one of the greatest pieces of cinema that has ever existed...yesterday, today, and well past tomorrow

Lawrence of Arabia > Dark Knight

  • muito masss ess video

    assista tbm o meu breguinha

    [musica da jaqueta]

  • The Dark Knight received every last drop of praise and hype it was given.

HOWEVER...it could never match this. No way on this big green Earth. And I believe Nolan would agree, seeing as how Lawrence of Arabia is one of his top ten favorite films.

  • That's refutable.

Comic book movie fandom doesn't earn a film the second highest domestic gross of all time. As big as that fandom may be, it's neither big enough nor rich enough.

I'll agree; it's not a masterpiece. But it's bloody closer than you presume.

  • I don't think it's close at all, half the story in the film doesn't work and it suffers from scene repitition. It's a good Batman flick and that is it's only real accolade.

  • by far my favourite movie.

  • Steven Speilberg has said in an interview that it was this wonderful moment when Peter O'Toole blows out a match in Lawrence Of Arabia transporting us to the glorious morning sky of the burning hot Arabian desert, that inspired him more than anything else to want to make movies. It is easy to understand why!.

  • I can still remember the first thrill when I saw the vastness of the desert w/ the beautiful score!

  • YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES
