Evolution does not say that monkeys turned into humans, rather that monkeys and humans share a common ancestor. What actually happened was that of the various populations of apes in Africa, the population that gave rise to us found its forest habitat diminishing and had to adapt to life on the plains, which demanded bipedalism and bigger brains, and a greater reliance on tool use.

Its not about choosing, its about surviving. With enviroment and climent change comes adaptability and the body itself must adapt to survive. Think about people who live in Denver. There body must adapt to the colder and higher altitude in which they live or they will die. Now they didnt choose for their body to adapt but the body itself adapted for them. If humans were living in harsh conditions suddenly, only a select few would survive. That bottleneck would make the surviving humans different from us since they most probably carry genes that most people don't. And that's just a few generations. Think what thousands of generations can do to a species of ape that managed to survive several ice ages (dry ages would be more fitting for african conditions).

We're closely related because 60 000 years ago humanity was almost wiped out (Mount Toba explosion). A couple of thousand individuals survived and spread across the planet. It's beta thalassemia minor not sickle cell. Sickle cell as I understand is quite a severe disease. Thalassemia minor doesn't need any treatment, - people just need to be aware to not eat to much iron cause that fucks up the liver.

proteins don't mutate - nobody said they did. What DOES observably happen is that the genetic sequence encoding a protein mutates.
randomly assembling a protein with a SPECIFIC function is a gajillion to one, randomly assembling a protein with ANY function AT ALL is almost certain.

Evolution does not say that monkeys turned into humans, rather that monkeys and humans share a common ancestor. What actually happened was that of the various populations of apes in Africa, the population that gave rise to us found its forest habitat diminishing and had to adapt to life on the plains, which demanded bipedalism and bigger brains, and a greater reliance on tool use.

Its not about choosing, its about surviving. With enviroment and climent change comes adaptability and the body itself must adapt to survive. Think about people who live in Denver. There body must adapt to the colder and higher altitude in which they live or they will die. Now they didnt choose for their body to adapt but the body itself adapted for them. If humans were living in harsh conditions suddenly, only a select few would survive. That bottleneck would make the surviving humans different from us since they most probably carry genes that most people don't. And that's just a few generations. Think what thousands of generations can do to a species of ape that managed to survive several ice ages (dry ages would be more fitting for african conditions).
How is this hard to understand? We are a species of ape... thus we are related to other apes

In your statement you referred to a statement I made explicitly about protein mutation, and you inferred that cancer must be false on this basis. In other words, you said cancer either is a protein or that cancer is caused by a mutation in the proteins.

To my knowledge no, proteins are constructed through a process that involves reading DNA/RNA which stores information about assembling proteins. But again you're distracting away from the original facts so you don't need to confront them. Again I'll state it, journal of molecular biology, Douglas Axe, random protein synthesis and mutation resistance. Have more questions? Go look up that paper and read it yourself.
