  • two thousand and free!! :D

  • When i try to open office 2010 (like word) it takes up to 5 minutes!

  • You can also double-click the ribbon's title to minimize/un-minimize the ribbon.

  • jeez your pc has an godly speed if mine starts up word 2007 it takes YEARS lol

  • Can new themes be added?

  • Open office? are you joking. That is way too hard to use if your just jumping right into a word processing program. I would prefer office 2010 over anything so far. Its easy to use the ribbon makes everything clear in what your actually doing like in powerpoint, the transitions and animations. Just my opinion

  • i download it and its very cool :)

  • :) i am downloading it ;)

  • I love it thanks for the download link

  • 7/10, prefer office 2007 or 2003

  • Would you be able to update what you use to record your videos? They look a lot better than usual lately.

    Thanks

  • actually everything you mentioned about it, is included in office 2007, so everything is the same, except the interface has been slightly changed.

  • Hmm, dont forget.. it is way faster.

  • oh ok

  • I agree with you on that I would rather use any of those other programs that you mentioned in the end but I do think the Presentations in Open Office is slacking in terms of transitions. :)

  • i don't like the design of 2010.

I like the 2007 version better. I'm gonna stick with MS Office 2007.

  • Also, sorry this can't really be considered a review theres a lot of features you did not touch at all.

  • From what I have seen so far it really is not much different then 2007 other that it will be available online in the future. 2007 is a real pain to learn because everyone has used 2003 for so long. But after using 2007 regularly I have come to find it much easier to use.

  • Downloading now :)

  • good review duncan! 5 Stars!

  • How long will the beta last?

  • how do you choose what programs you want to download?? like he downloaded??

  • HOw big is the program? is it 1.1Gb like the technical preview?

  • hmmmm, looks more like office 2007 with a different name on it. that's about all. it actually does look a bit over complicated. ;(

  • 9.9/10

  • .DOCX -.- Shiit-Zors!

  • It's funny, after using Office 2007, OpenOffice just seems clunky and outdated to me.

  • this is basically windows 7 to vista, a bit faster, smoother and the beta could probably be sent out as a final product

  • i think the ribbon thing is sort of meant to suit windows 7 anyway

  • Microsoft office...fucked up since 2007

  • looks interesting, but 2003 was the best, toolbars are the best, although the pdf creation is cool.

you have to find everything all over again in 2007 and 2010. They are doing this just like the older tv shows, but thats another topic.

i'm not really into the newer office that much, i am using 2007, just for creation of pdf's, but i would rather stick with 2003

  • great review......According to me, MS office apps are the best of their kind. But I still prefer open office....partly because am used to its UI and largely because it is free ;)

  • It looks like 2007 i dont like it either i rather use 2003

  • why office 2010 is BETTER than 2007?? Windows 7 taskbar integration, automatic SkyDrive document synchronization, native PDF creation, advanced video editing in PowerPoint, Office Live Apps... should i continue?

  • isit stable enough to use properly or not ? :S

  • I've added those into the video (although none of those convince me to use it)

  • I agree, this guy just sounds like he really hates Office just because of the price tag.

  • I dont hate office because of its price, I just think currently its a bloated mess :-)

  • @doubletrance those are features no one needs.

  • i hate 2007 compared to 2003, and 2010 is same as 2007. Really annoying

  • I got this 2010, It Rocks!

  • do they need another special format again like docx?

  • it is docx :(

  • There will be an option for doc though. >_>

  • That's actually not bad, because it's an open format, i.e. better support in OpenOffice than .doc, making it easier to toss this bloody thing where it belong.

  • Yeah, but you take your .docx file to your friends house or college or work and find they are using office 2003 and then you spend ages just trying to get a pack to get the bloody thing to show arrrrrrgh! get what i mean? it shouldnt be a hassle.

  • you can still save in .doc, damn whats the big deal, that it confuses people? probably only idiots

  • I'm a Linux user myself so maybe it has been done already (I just don't know), but adding a compatibility pack for older versions of Office via a Windows Update would sound like the way to go.

I usually save them in .doc, .odt or .pdf myself, depending on the situation.

  • whats up with the quality?

  • processing......

  • oh i see

  • You're totally right Duncan...the 2007 design sucks and this one is just the same. Gonna keep using open office or office 2003... :/

  • I cant install mine properly :/

  • Ah cool, I need to get the more updated version of office 2007.

  • I like 2007 design better.
