  • nice try man!! 3 tips for your next eperiment. sun (or stronger light 400 wt or more), use plastic materials and not wood (that's how you can avoid germs and unwated "dirty" enviroment for your roots) and finally get rid of the mist maker. install simple becks to creat directly a medium temperatured water mist without ruining the nutrient by vaporizing. last but not least, a friendly tip about germinaton. place them in soil for two weeks. take them out gently.clean the root into water. thanx!

  • can you please try again. no other video has such good detailed instructions.

  • my fogponics works great, i use cycles of 15 mins on 15 mins off, all plants in there take off like rockets, think u just need to put the light a bit lower and of course have no idea how ur mist machine works, maybe it doesnt fill up the whole space, seems kinda large space to fill up w mist

  • try bubble ponics and the brand of nutrients called plant food. its never let me down.

  • All credit to you for doing the experiment even though it didn`t turn out quite as well as expected. The problem is ultrasonic foggers create droplets that are too small and in a density that effectively suffocates the roots.

Its ironic that you had less than charitable comments from those using sprinkler / sprayer aeroponics which soak the roots and produce results that are closer to nft than aero.

  • INCREASE THE LIGHT. I started with 1400 lums (one 100w incandescent bulb) and after 4 weeks of the seedlings just surviving increased the light to 12,800 lums (eight 100 watt lights) i noticed the difference by the hour. And yes floggers are usually only a booster of performance there never the whole show. (they accompany a free flowing or an eb and flow system.) AND MOST IMPORTANT your giving up after your first try?...the fuck man.

  • do u have a good ligh if u do then ur plants should take off

  • the mist maker is why it failed

  • try building an aerponic system from a large plastic dumpster or trash can. Yuo could even use steel if you wanted and would help keep the water cool. If you want to you can build some real large outdoor aeroponic systems. I'm talking over 600 plant sites with vertical and lateral growth on an outdoor sytem with such size you need a ladder to reach the top of the system and waterproof fans installed to keep the root chamber cool in summer months and heated on cold nights. it runs on gravity

  • I've read about excessive lateral root growth with fogger systems but never seen it before.. your rockwool cubes look way too dry and theres some confusion on if those misters can mist nutrients.

  • You made every noobie mistake possible. What you have is not a 'mister', it's a pond fogger. They are known to burn up if your nutrient is greater than 400 ppm. AND, they are only good for cloning, not actually growing.

Instead of blaming the system, take the time to actually learn what aeroponiocs means, not follow some Youtube idiots.

  • good try.. could make some improvements. don't need such a large chamber for the fog to fill. Wash your medium and change your water, wash the disk from nebulizer once a week, and dont give up after you fail once.

  • its most likely a PH thing. Did you change your water at all? and did you wash your midean at all? that can kill your plants too.

  • Alrite mate I like your videos and im gutted it didnt work! Im building an aeroponics system at the moment so when its done ill drop you a link to it on here

  • Is it possipble that the PH of the nutrient solution was off? Or is that not relevant in an aeroponic system? I don't know. Also I would have probably put the light closer to the plants. I've never grown aeroponicly but you've inspired me to try. Thanks for the videos.

  • good attempt

    learned a lot

    thanks!

  • I think you would have better results if you were to enclose your fixture and mytar on the walls and fix it to were its on a timer for the natural day/night periods. I don't know if it would help but I personally think it would

  • Dude. It's easy to build an aeroponics unit for an hobbyist. You just need to stack two tubs on top of each other with a hole leading between them. Have you mister run up the whole.

Basically you need a separate reservoir so the roots don't dangle in water. If they do, you can use bubblestones and have an aeroponics/DWC grow.

  • If more young people in this world were as calm and patient as this guy our next generation would be in very good shape! With your easy going, yet yearning for knowledge attitude, you will do very well in this life I suspect. Hint...try to smile a bit making videos. It makes a more humanistic balance to your presentation. And I hope you keep doing these videos because you're going to get very good at it. :)

  • @marks2u agreed! that is so true.

  • In True Aero Grow you have a deep reservoir to allow for the massive pom-pom roots that will suck up massive amounts of nutes, producing the biggest plants possible in the shortest period of time. The information on to is out there. Had you done your homework, you would of had a much different result.

  • @petflora - um, no.

  • good attempt. probably better to stay away from the fog system & stick with spray misters. probably cheaper and more effective. lots of diy out there. you should try another experiment with that and im sure results will be much better. good luck buddy

  • and the rest of the text.....:

Likewise, the further the plant is from light source, the less available usable energy is delivered to the plant. The indoor grower most tune light resources as well as other environmental variables for optimal growing conditions."

    Good luck with next experiments!

    warm regards!

  • Respect for your experiment! Just stumbled upon a text which might be (one of the) reasons your project failed.

"The higher the bulb wattage the further away the plant must be from light source to prevent environmental heat stress that can cause the plant to transpire too quickly.Excessive transpiring can dehydrate plants leading to wilting/poor growth.

  • Dude...look into building an aerospring design....works well, grows anything, and its probably way cheaper than all that lumber and leaky bags.....just a though...oh, and different plants have different needs.....

  • um, aeroponics systems grow massive amounts of roots, that is one of the reasons it works so good, and you used a mist maker which are garbage, soo just because you messed up every aspect of aeroponics, dont start saying it isnt feasible, . . . .

  • I didn't say it wasn't feasible. I just said I don't think it's worth the expense as a hobbiest, and as I stated in part 1, I'm no expert. What I read said the roots were supposed to be short and I only saw significant clumped growth at the bottom of the tank where the stagnant water was. This is a presentation of my experience. Not a statement of expert fact.
