This is definitely Micro Center's fault. Apple has the best support among comuter manufacturers. Why would Apple try to remove computers with iSights which Youtube users use to make videos? Had you actually bought the Mac from an Apple Store you would have Apple's actual service. So go and sue Micro Center, you would definitely be satisfied by Apple support, they would even call you personally from Steve Job's office and have this issue fixed, but you get what you pay for in Micro Center.

That's exactly what Mordeth thought too, but it seems if they would complain to YouTube about you YouTube would terminate you without even telling you why. I think it's cause they don't want to get into a legal issue over it. Mordeth isn't the only one that this has happened to by the way on YouTube.
A friend of mine had a similar issue w/Micro Center out there too. And, btw, my Toshiba computer went MIA for 3.5 weeks last year thx to Toshiba's "customer service" -- of which there is none. CUSTOMER SERVICE - a new definition: giving the customer what they want BEFORE they have to ask for it.

Yeah, Macs are great for editing. But a lot of people here do use PCs (with the free Windows Movie Maker software that comes with Windows, or other editing software). Anyway, not trying to push the PC thing. Just FYI.

I purchaced a new computer once, a Packardbell DX50.. 4 megs of ram and a 450 meg hard drive.. Since then I've assembled all my own stuff.. That way I can kick the tech in the ars for messing up.. Macs are for the computer illiterate and PCs are for the computer savvy. I think education is the key here folks. Another words don't buy anything that is so expensive that you have to send it to a repairman to fix. This is the computer age where it is supposed to be cheaper to replace than to fix. If you can't fix it or replace it, then you probably shouldn't have bought it.
Mmmm... I bought an Acer w/a fast Intel duo core processor for which I bought some fast OCZ memory. The problem is it runs VISTA, the hell software of personal computing. I paid $600 at Wal-Mart so it was a good deal but fuck the MS shit. You are lucky to not be using VISTA. I should have spent another $2K for a Mac. NOT! I think I will dual boot OS10 on here instead.

genious bar.(prince st.) Last time I took it they fixed it for nothing. Only prob. is if you don't by the membership it can take up to 8 or 10 hours to see a genious.
People say Macs are a lot more secure and less prone to breakdown. With growing popularity, there will be more and more people who want to attack Macs and exploit their vulnerabilities once they find them. That remains to be seen. Also, If Apple let's say, garners 25% of the personal computer market in the world, and with their current business model, they'll probably implode.
Sorry, i didn't help you much but that's my 2 cents.
To me, PC is a much more democratic platform in terms of personal computing than Macs. With a PC, if it's broken and you don't have an service contract, you just bring it to a neighborhood PC store and you'll have it fixed without much hassles, usually. With a Mac, Apple controls everything, from sales to service. If anything happens with your Mac or anything regarding Mac, you have to talk to Apple. That's way too centralized, even if they sub the work out.
The other thing is PC is cheap, dirt cheap, compared to Macs. One can build a decent PC using off the shelf parts and spend $100 to $200 for the Windows, depending on what you want. So, for less than $500 you can surf internet, play some games, write a term paper. Heck, there are laptops which cost less than $500 now. The one thing you have to give it to Apple though is the movie making capability. Mac is way better than PC. That's why Apple keeps harking on about it with their commercials.

Amen. Apple used to have awesome customer service, now they have "geniuses". I ended up taking mine to a great computer repair shop that did the repairs on-site (what a novelty, fixing the computers without shipping them to God knows where).
Well hopefully you'll get it back soon. I had to choose between the white imac laptop and the one I got. I liked that one, but I'm glad I got this HP entertainment one.
Ok kiddies here is the thing. The computer is not lost. They know what is wrong and are waiting until they have a fix for it. Most likely they are waiting for replacement parts. You will then get a letter, despite all your info being missing, that will tell all about how they value you as customer yada yada... When they get ready to get around to fixing it.

It seems that for the most part, Apple did its job. Microcenter (you should've taken it to an Apple store) dragged its feet, not giving Apple the right information and didn't when Apple tried to get it. For a company that processes thousands of repairs a month (Apple contracts independent authorized dealers for repair), and not getting a response for that long, it was probably stored aside. It'll no doubt be dug out of storage in short time.. sounds like Microcenter is really the one at fault.

Sounds like this micro place is to blame. I usually take mine to the mac station
genious bar.(prince st.) Last time I took it they fixed it for nothing. Only prob. is if you don't by the membership it can take up to 8 or 10 hours to see a genious.

People say Macs are a lot more secure and less prone to breakdown. With growing popularity, there will be more and more people who want to attack Macs and exploit their vulnerabilities once they find them. That remains to be seen. Also, If Apple let's say, garners 25% of the personal computer market in the world, and with their current business model, they'll probably implode.

To me, PC is a much more democratic platform in terms of personal computing than Macs. With a PC, if it's broken and you don't have an service contract, you just bring it to a neighborhood PC store and you'll have it fixed without much hassles, usually. With a Mac, Apple controls everything, from sales to service. If anything happens with your Mac or anything regarding Mac, you have to talk to Apple. That's way too centralized, even if they sub the work out.

The other thing is PC is cheap, dirt cheap, compared to Macs. One can build a decent PC using off the shelf parts and spend $100 to $200 for the Windows, depending on what you want. So, for less than $500 you can surf internet, play some games, write a term paper. Heck, there are laptops which cost less than $500 now. The one thing you have to give it to Apple though is the movie making capability. Mac is way better than PC. That's why Apple keeps harking on about it with their commercials.

Amen. Apple used to have awesome customer service, now they have "geniuses". I ended up taking mine to a great computer repair shop that did the repairs on-site (what a novelty, fixing the computers without shipping them to God knows where).

Ok kiddies here is the thing. The computer is not lost. They know what is wrong and are waiting until they have a fix for it. Most likely they are waiting for replacement parts. You will then get a letter, despite all your info being missing, that will tell all about how they value you as customer yada yada... When they get ready to get around to fixing it.

It seems that for the most part, Apple did its job. Microcenter (you should've taken it to an Apple store) dragged its feet, not giving Apple the right information and didn't when Apple tried to get it. For a company that processes thousands of repairs a month (Apple contracts independent authorized dealers for repair), and not getting a response for that long, it was probably stored aside. It'll no doubt be dug out of storage in short time.. sounds like Microcenter is really the one at fault.

I agree. Sounds like the store screwed up, and Apple support has always been excellent for me....but yea, I would suggest next time going to an apple store as well. Good luck!

Apples - arn't the computers generally made in such a way that they need to be REPLACED rather than fixed - Many people have complained To Apple Customer support where I am (New Zealand) but 95% to no avail...
Over here Apples tend to be "niche" specialist computers, everyone likes PCs (they're far easier to fix - even the laptops) - However, a friend of mine did a photography course that involved a Mac - it kept breaking down!!!

I am reading what you write, and I am telling you that your logic is wrong. Everything you said can be tied back to the Micro Center's fault, not Apple's. Either give me a 100% valid, fool proof way that Apple has done wrong, or stop giving Apple a bad reputation for something that's not their fault.
And also, like you said, you don't have to prove anything. But, that'd just make you look bad in the end if you can't backup what you said with valid facts.
