The problem is the Goemon story builds up in the games, but we didn't get the NES games, only 1 SNES game, 1 GB game and 2 N64 games We're missing a lot of valuable information. I had no idea that Impact was self aware. I thought it was just a Goemonesque robot he could summon and control. I also has no idea that Goemon and Ebisumaru had children. It could be translated and put into a bundle, or sold on the Wii VC seperately.

Konami has no idea the profits its missing.

Close, but no cigar, the real title of the "Yaranaika" manga was Kuso Miso Technique and was about a high school student who secretly likes men meets up with a mechanic named Takakazu Abe in the park, and they end up having sex in a public bathroom. Ishikawa Goemon, legendary ninja and bandit hero, he was pretty much a Robin Hood. Got boiled to death in oil after a failed assassination attempt. The creator inspired himself of Ishikawa to create the Goemon we know in video games.

Apparently the same is said for Ebisumaru whom was probably made after Nezumi Kozou.

Well, manga and anime was largely inspired by old Western cartoons and comics. And since the media is so much bigger in Japan then anywhere else, there's of course a lot more variety. Also, Ganbare Goemon is a game series, not an anime.
