Randy Cooke has always been a great guy in my presence, and he has been professional yet fun, giving young people drum sticks and just all around accessible. I have never seen him otherwise. Rik is the same way; he talks constantly, cracks jokes and does a lot of fundraisers. That's more than I can say for most "rick stars". These men have never been anything but cool, and I have seen them literally dozens of times, including backstage. Off night, sure. Professional, yes. Great video! :)
Thanks for posting that. I've never been fortunate enough to meet Randy or Rik, but Rik doesn't strike me as the type of person who'd put up with rock star attitude or unprofessionalism in his band. Given Randy's long tenure in Rik's band, he'd have to be a pretty solid guy or Rik wouldn't have kept him around.
His playing on Rik's first two solo tours was just killer.
Wow ... thanks for posting this. I saw Rik on this tour and also the next one (the Ipso Facto tour), and IMHO, this period was the peak of his artistic career. What an utterly great band. Randy Cooke is an amazing drummer, and having Sil on second guitar really filled out the sound live. I remember them opening the set with the a-capella intro to "Stand and Deliver," and the electricity in the air was palpable. I didn't know any video of this period existed -- thanks again for posting it!
hey Chris, you've put such a smile on my face...buddy I wish you the joys you felt on that stage for the rest of your being...I respect your talents my friend....you guys just rockkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkked....

Canadian Musicians have attitudes?Maybe because we have to fight for recognition, but we are musicians, not record company posers!

i really wish someone would post "stand and deliver" from this tour.
or anything off of "ipso facto and Spiral Notebook", its like those two albums are missing from you tube along with "Absolutly".

Colleen Allen played with Don Ross on the Live in your Head album. Her saxophone completely overhauled "Wall of Glass" into a masterpiece.

Randy Cooke is probably one of the nicest, most decent people you will ever meet. And a great drummer, to boot.
You are talking out your ass, my friend.
