  • I've never seen a Fassbinder, where to start?

I'd be afraid now the real thing wouldn't be as good as the tribute.

  • oh no, this is a very feeble tribute to a master.

I wouldn't start with Berlin Alexanderplatz, too long.

    Why not google?

  • Vee shall soon see about zat.

  • Wise and Interesting! Margaret, what are you doing under the piano? But is an interesting location for the video and it matches the soundtrack..LOL

  • it seemed like a place Fassbinder would go

  • Great!

  • lol

under the piano must feel great

  • especially when someone is playing it

  • I love this! What is the name of the piece playing at the beginning of the video? I love dramatic music!

  • This is absolutely High-larious.

  • Berlin Alexanderplatz isn't quite that funny

  • Sitting through half of it in one go isn't either, methinks. 5 stars

Watch it: i am the 656th viewer. Hide!

  • does that mean you're going to come and get me?

  • ya betcha!

    & i'll bring the Kronos 4tet

  • they are giving a concert here in a couple of weeks . . . .

ps i've spell-checked this: no mistakes!

  • Art....Artist...........You!!!!

  • Another brilliant creation from one of my favorite youtube artists.....

  • i live there!

  • we could get together?

  • Loved it! A terrific complement to our weekly ascent. The deadpan newspaper reading makes it a perfect "platz" for our time and place. Extremely well done; enjoyed the montage effect and the sepia street shot (Pierce St?).

  • you know your San Francisco!

  • MoMA has this to say:

Personal anguish finds rich expression in Fassbinder's adaptation of Alfred Döblin's 1929 novel about Weimar Berlin. Shot in 16mm for broadcast on German television, Fassbinder's 15-plus-hour film is divided into 13 episodes with an epilogue that revisits Berlin Alexanderplatz's disintegrating world. The epic film follows Franz Biberkopf (Günter Lamprecht) as he is released from prison and makes his way through the violent and impoverished city.

  • this piece is poetic saturation of modern art - our art class went to that museum and it changed my perspective a lot - now I will check out Rainer Werner Fassbinder and Berlin Alexanderplatz ...

  • Bravo BRAVO! ;)

  • Yeah....what Stallionette said. She is right ya know. You are truly special.

  • I just showed Shari this Visual Art Piece, and she loves it too...

    You're an inspiration!

  • "Yahoo and Google" ... "remove them fast" ... "one third of your life sleeping" -- It all made perfect sense to me.

Brilliant shot under the piano with the pedals as your prison.
