  • Not crazy, more like intuition.

  • vk, you along with your videos are halarious. keep them coming

  • Hello!! Can I buy two waterbottles from you? And how long does the shipping take to Sweden?

    Regardes//Jimmy

  • Hello viperkeeper!! Nice Red pigmy you have there:) I also have 2.2 Red pigmy, and expect babys in the spring:) Now to my question: Where did you buy your enormously practical waterbottle? It seem very practical when you give your snaks water.

    Regardes//Jimmy

  • I sell them.

  • Y do u do the gecko tails.....just wonderin

  • Natural food for them that's easy to get down their throat.

  • Hey Al,

great vid those little pigs sorta look like my baby hognose lol, definitely not though

  • Ohhh my! WOW! now those are pretty.

  • Yeesh, big momma shot venom like a spitter the second time she tried to sink her fangs in. So I take it they like to overkill on the amount of venom injected? (I believe it was out of her right fang, looked as if she grazed the forceps(sp)) Anywho, great vidoe as always and beautiful pigmys. With their currently stealth rattlers.lol

  • Awesome footage when the echis strikes and sprays venom outside the prey in slowmo! Thanks

  • I still can't believe eastern diamondbacks can grow to over 7 feet. I just cant wrap my head around it.

  • what kind of camera/camcorder do you use?

  • Sony DHC-96

  • big salami lol

  • in and out lol

  • Very cool, i love your videos and your snakes. I love vipers too, but i can`t have one now. I`ve had a Bothrops jararaca and B. jararacussu before and they are very cool.

  • Yeah..I imagine gaboons & rhinos may like to live in Brazil... Anyway, send me any extra Jararaca's or Jararacussu you have lying around...LOL

  • Yo people . Please go to these and flag them.

I don't think they should be on youtube. Thx

  • I have a lot of respect for you. I can only imagine how fast my heart would be beating if I was as close to these beautiful snakes as always are. Keep up the awesome videos.

  • LOL! "Sorry, I get carried away sometimes." Where do you pickup dropped gecko tails?

  • I have a supply of frozen house geckos, that I break off the tail if need be.

  • in and out hahahahah the best :) Nice vid as always :) Be careful . All the best. Rafał

  • in and out, in and out

  • Is there several common names for Trimeresurus macrops? big eyed tree viper? bamboo? green viper? where can I get those cube enclosures? thanks!

  • They came in those, I'll try to find out.

  • I love the slo-mo strikes, and your right about the serious doo-doo ,that Sawscale stuck her fangs in about 4 times in a second

  • that was crazy cant belive u risked it when u touched the pygs tail and at like 16:38 around there when the snake bites the mouse u can c venom squirt out nice vid

  • al what do you do for a living?

  • awesome Mr Burns impression!! ("Excellent") loved the little rattle snakes.

  • do the little ones feed on something like worms and such at first? that is why you use gecko tails, or is it because they are stiff enough they are easier to feed? [the salami comment] what were you saying about the sawscale on the western side of africa? would like to hear the rest of the comment.

  • Yes, most anything they can catch I imagine.

  • The West African Sawscales are very plentiful and like to be where people are, thus they cause many serious bites/ fatalities.

  • Snakes cant go backwards they can only turn their head and keep moveing that way : put it in reverce.... lol

  • Not exactly

  • that big momma sawscale has a monstrous feeding response! did i see her shooting venom at 16:30 ish?

  • beautiful beautiful snake man

  • Great work on the upkeep of these extraordinary snakes. What do you do with the snakes when there back to health e.g release/sell?.

  • Depends....

  • the lil pygs. are tiny. dident think they were that small al till you put your hand next to them..

  • ok i thought of a good question.. whats the oldest snake you have. how long have you had it etc kim oklahoma ps my hamster daffy died im sad.. love kim

  • What is the common name for those green vipers I'm trying to learn the latin names, but if I were to guess I'd say they are white liped green vipers.

  • in and out, in and out LOL

so where do you get the tails from, do you keep geckos and take the tails or wwhat

also when you were working with the first snake, i thought that was appropriate, but some of my friends said it was a little rough are they right? those macrops are beautiful with excellent camo

  • Great vid Al, such small but beautiful snakes. BTW i just pay-pal'd the $20 for the calendar. i cant wait to see it :-)

  • Thank you

  • No problemo :-P just plz keep enlightening us about these marvelous snakes, i really enjoy it. I should be saying thank you, not u! lol

  • whats the name of the green vipers?

  • T. macrops

  • those tiny buggers would make me much more nervous than the adult snakes. So much less neck to hold onto. Have you ever had them quickly work out of your hands while feeding?

Also, when the snake is in mid eat, are they capable of landing successful strikes?

  • yes, plenty of times.

    Certainly possible

  • yeah hes cute til he pops ya on the finger lol

  • "little snakes are not supposed to play with big knives." what did that mean? haha you have the best quotes "ooh thats a big salami."

  • Outstanding baby macrops babies!! That's one big sawscale for sure!

  • when you where feeding your BIG Momma Sawscale when you slowed down the shot of the feeding strike you can see the vemon shooting out of BIG Momma Sawscale mouth is that normal to see or is that an uncommon xp

  • Unusual

  • aww SOO CUTE!

  • damn! thats why i dont want to mess with hot snakes right now. Too easy to get bit, even a little prick can do you, im going to keep to boa morphs for now:)

    nice vid Al

  • with those tiny rattle snakes it make you look like your a gaint

  • Al, you scare me sometimes. Keep up these long and awesome vids!!

  • What's so scary about this one?

  • Al, Im going to ask a stupid question,so have mercy on me, Please! If you heated the pinkys (Baby Mouses) first in a microwave, When feeding your Pit Vipers, would that make a difference? Would it possibly help peak their interest in the food item, or perhaps make them think it was alive, since PV go by heat detection as well as smell/taste? I have always been curious about that thought and have been wanting to ask you. It just seems to me that if they sense no heat, they have less interest? ~Lee

  • i used to put them in hot water

  • Heat them in water. Don't use a microwave. o.O

  • Yes, I would think that water would be much safer as the microwave can cause hot pockets in certain areas and cause burning.I was just curious if anyone had ever conducted an experiment aor know of a study, in where it has been looked into, whether it makes a differece in heating the prey item, in Pit Vipers or not? Thanks for your reply and insight Lordabomity! Cheers!

  • Definitely use warm water. Microwaves cook from the inside out, so the mouse would be hotter inside than the outside. That can cause internal burning in the snake. I use hot water, dry the mouse off with a paper towel, and use feeding tongs.

  • Beautiful pygmies, I've seen pictures of ones that are blue. So pretty. I lol'ed at the in and out part... "that's a big salami" hahaha!

  • watch out for those crazy snake charming churches they love carolina pygmys

  • I thought they prefer timbers and copperheads.

  • omg cornsnakes! lol

  • If I remember correctly, T. macrops males have the white line under the eyes and females (or bouth?) have red tails like T. albolabris.

Your right about the mindflashes ;)

  • Yeah, show the live mouse feeding in the cage below!

  • pygmy rattlesnakes are just amazing snakes

  • Congratulations!

  • In and out..,...OMG! I haven't laughed that hard in a week. Thanks Al, I really needed that! LOL!

  • I love Asian pit vipers, especially the Large Eye. Beautiful emerald green. Some of the prettiest colors come from the Asian pitvipers.

  • did anyone else catch the live mouse or rat? 17.40 somthing tells me it wont last long.

  • i just noticed that lol he's screwed xp

  • That was eaten by one of the Sawscales (E. coloratus)

  • are you a partner? if not, i think you should apply to be one because you can make some money for these awesome videos you do!

  • Yes

  • That is cool!

  • wow i have had a viperkeeper overdose the last few weeks. seems to have been a lot of vids. not that im moaning i love it.

  • !!! O lord !!!! Trimeresurus macrops I love those snakes there so beautiful and there camoflouge is flawless. i actually had to look to see the snakes in the beginning when you showed the box lol. i love those snakes

  • I really like your snakes Al!

  • Al,Love the video the Pygmies are cute. Ms. Sawscale sure has an impressive strike, it's hard to believe so much can go on in such a short time. Thanks for sharing your experience with us.

  • wow, when she bites that rat in slow motion you can see venom squirt out!

  • (Y0 ohhh love the last -snake..!

  • nice vid

  • The Sawscale strike was vicious! Wow!!!

  • Al,

How do you warm the stuff you feed your pit vipers??

  • hi m8, the way i do it is to defrost the rats or mice then 20 to 30 min befor feeding i just get warm water and soak them in the water just so as they are warm to the tutch. then dry them off with some paper towl. hope that helps a bit
